Hecatom Posted May 20, 2013 Posted May 20, 2013 So here's the catch: How do you know that the Injustice guy just wasn't broken as well? Arakune was nerfed after a year more or less, Deathstroke is being nerfer after what? 3 weeks? Also, Deathstroke is being nerfed because people can't walk and block, and fall for the most basic form of zoning, there is a huge difference. Oh, okay. Some guy was complaining that some Injustice character was nerfed because "casuals" were complaining about him. I was just pointing out that there is no firm way of saying whether or not a character is broken, and asked how one can tell the difference between the character in question, and someone like Arakune. Actually there is, and Deathstroke is clearly not broken not OP. He just happens to be like Tager a scrub/noob killer.
Devdan Posted May 21, 2013 Posted May 21, 2013 So, do we know the results of the BB character popularity poll? I can't find them...
HoudiniJr100 Posted May 21, 2013 Posted May 21, 2013 So, do we know the results of the BB character popularity poll? I can't find them... they were in the arc festival stream. same with GG's.
BlackYakuzu94 Posted May 21, 2013 Posted May 21, 2013 they were in the arc festival stream. same with GG's. Results?
HoudiniJr100 Posted May 21, 2013 Posted May 21, 2013 Results? As far as I remember, bridget got number 1, sol badguy is 2nd, and dizzy got third. 10 was slayer, and I believe 8 or 7 was chipp zanuff... unless ya mean blazblue, then I didn;t stick around the stream that far in.
mAc Chaos Posted May 21, 2013 Posted May 21, 2013 > still defending CT Arakune So what's this I'm hearing about a BlazBlue anime.
Devdan Posted May 21, 2013 Posted May 21, 2013 Yeah, I mean BB, I've seen the GG ones already. It seems like the kind of thing someone would've written down. Some guy on gamefaqs said the GG results were 1. Bridget 2. Sol 3. Dizzy 4. Ky 5. Baiken 6. Chipp 7. Johnny 8. May 9. Jam 10. Slayer but nothing on BB.

I was somewhat accurate though in my listing.
Vulcan422 Posted May 21, 2013 Posted May 21, 2013 So what's this I'm hearing about a BlazBlue anime. Comes out Fall 2013, supposedly an adaptation of Calamity Trigger. Animation studios are a new studio called Team KG and Hoods Entertainment, a studio made up of former Gonzo employees that are apparently only notable for bad ecchi anime. Discuss here: http://www.dustloop.com/forums/showthread.php?16393-Blazblue-Alter-Memory
SoWL Posted May 21, 2013 Posted May 21, 2013 Objection! Qwaser and Manyuu are pretty good as far as ecchi anime goes... though that doesn't tell much. And stop implying that animation studios are responsible for the script.

And stop implying that animation studios are responsible for the script. Well, my assumption is that Mori sought these people out to do the anime. If they're notable for ecchi stuff, then that's just what I expect :\ I know they're not directly responsible for choosing the content though. It's all up to Mori and that Hideki guy (I forget his last name).
Assassin Cross Posted May 22, 2013 Posted May 22, 2013 Hoods Entertainment has done in-between animations on some good anime, but their independent projects are pretty much limited to ecchi and shit. TeamKG is even worse, having only done one anime prior to this, which was apparently bad as well. As for the directors, the lead director is absolutely crap, having only directed 3 anime, which were also very bad. However, I have high hopes for his co-director Seiji Mizushima, as he directed OFMA and Gundam 00. I don't expect much from the anime, but I'm still hyped for it nonetheless.

I mean, aside from maybe some camera angles and a mandatory scene of litchi dressing Noel up, BB isn't exactly that ecchi.

I mean, aside from maybe some camera angles and a mandatory scene of litchi dressing Noel up, BB isn't exactly that ecchi. I know what you mean. I don't feel like the actual game has that many ecchi scenes, but the character designs themselves are pretty ecchi imo. I expect a lot of camera angles and at the very least, boob jiggling. I don't think it'll be Nisemonogatari levels of ecchi-ness though. Also, I wasn't aware about the directors. That kind of lessens my hopes for this. Unless it gets horrible first impression reviews though, I'll (try to) watch it. Tbh, I really want to see that Library stage fleshed out in the anime. I want to see all those cool stages in their context. Like, Circus, somehow. Or Noel's port stage, because that ship is so badass.

The only independent project they have is Fantasista Doll, which hasn't even been released yet. As for the directors, the lead director is absolutely crap, having only directed 3 anime, which were also very bad. Eh, I liked Dragon Crisis to a small extent, I wouldn't call it bad (though it was by no means great). Although, I have not watched H2O (I have a thing against most visual novel romance adaptations) and I will NEVER watch Higurashi Kira (F%^K YOU DEEN). Edited May 22, 2013 by Tokkan

By independent projects, I'm referring to the anime where their contribution was listed as Animation Production here: http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/encyclopedia/company.php?id=8584 So these anime are: Aki-Sora, Fantatista Doll, HoriMiyamura, Manyuu Hikenchou, Nazo no Kanojo X, Seikon no Qwaser, Vanquished Queens And the only ones that aren't ecchi are HoriMiyamura and Fantatista Doll. I dropped it after the second last episode and still haven't bothered finishing the single last episode lol. As for the rest, admittedly I haven't watched any of them, and am just judging from their MAL rating which is probably a bad idea. But meh.
Tokkan Posted May 23, 2013 Posted May 23, 2013 (edited) https://twitter.com/zatuyoP/status/337378004734984193 BlazBlue video being posted on Arc's Nico channel in the next twenty or so minutes. Probably just the Kagura/Terumi trailer. For the most part, they were being paid to do those by investors who purchased a license to make those anime (except Fantasista Doll, which is an original production they're working on with Code Geass director and co-creator Goro Taniguchi). The fact they do a lot of ecchi does not mean they'll be doing ecchi in BB, it just means producers like the the look of their ecchi. Unless they're working on something completely original, animation studios don't really have any say in what goes in; they're just asked to draw things for money. Edited May 23, 2013 by Tokkan
SolxBaiken Posted May 23, 2013 Posted May 23, 2013 Yeah...that's the only thing that hasn't been posted officially right? Outside of the anime "teaser" which wasn't much to begin with lol
Tokkan Posted May 23, 2013 Posted May 23, 2013 http://www.nicovideo.jp/watch/1369219655 Kagura/Terumi trailer + Anime teaser
SolxBaiken Posted May 23, 2013 Posted May 23, 2013 lol dat lens movement, I thought that was shakey cam in the original leak. It's like they were trying to imitate the dynamic feel of Xrd. Kagura still looks really cool (I wonder if this is his theme playing in the trailer, or perhaps taste of the new OP before vocals]
