shtkn Posted June 17, 2013 Posted June 17, 2013 all this talk about voice actors remind me that dc douglas (the voice of wesker) did mention he was voicing someone in bbcp a few months back... did he not do the voice work yet? i assume he did since i doubt he'd know months in advance he's doing a role as low profile as a fighting game character. that would mean the script was complete a few months back... i wonder what's the holdup?

DC Douglas is going to be the voice for Azrael according to one of his blogs. This was a few months back. However, just because he was cast for the role, that doesn't mean the script for the game was done at the time. They could have just asked him to do the battle voices and do the story script later. And even if the script was translated and done, localization isn't just simply translating the text. For instance, DC Douglas might have finished his lines, but that doesn't mean every other VA has completed theirs (due to other projects and availability). In addition, even if the VAs have recorded their stuff, someone still needs to edit them and put the finishing touches to the finished product. Then there's bug testing, legal paperwork that needs approving and...yeah, it can take a while.

Hilarious indeed, I wonder what could have been just a little extra if that guy performed either a Distortion, Overdrive, or even an Astral on top of it. Blackwing55 Posted June 18, 2013 Posted June 18, 2013 The story of BB is probably almost as large a selling point as the game itself, that and it has one of the best dubs for a fighting game I've heard. I'm sure most of us will get over it, but it'd still be a huge loss. I agree the story is one of my favourite things about BB although I do stick around for the multiplayer. So I'm super excited for finding out who's doing the voice acting. Even though I play through on japanese I still like switching over to English on occasion so Doug Erholtz for Hazama and I wouldn't mind a new Rachel voice actor either.

For me to like a dub, the japanese must be terrible, like the first 3 mentioned above. Otherwise the english voices just looked misplaced. Though BB's dub is significantly better than most games/anime out there now.
