I actually like Nora's theory. Can't say much for or against it but it would be pretty cool. If he was used in a more direct way from the black beast remains it would explain why only him among Azure users have darkness based attacks and parts of the Black Beast appearing among them. At first I though it was because his Azure is the one that would form the Black Beast or something, but seems any azure out of control can make one. Could be mistaken, though, that part is quite a mess.

I remember though that someone (I think it was Jin or Rachel) mentioned Ragna had little Ars Magus aptitude before he got his azure. Is that correct?

The Azure Grimoire manipulates seithr, and his dark attacks are likely just temporarily solid seithr. The Black Beast's body was composed of seithr as well.

Yes.

Hahaha... But that's strange, Brother...

I didn't think you had the aptitude to use Armagus.

Or does it have something to do with that Azure Grimoire?

Ragna also reiterates that he's never been able to use ars magus while Jubei is trying to teach him how to use the Azure Grimoire. He just has a high synchronicity with the Azure Grimoire, I suppose.

Sorry for abruptly changing the subject, but do we know what connection XBLAZE will have with Blazblue? In September TGS had another trailer and in the beginning it showed scenes from Blazblue in the background and I'm really curious as to how that game will affect the story, it seems nobody has really focused on that much though.

So is Ragna actually the reincarnated Black Beast? That was always the vibe I got, but from the way things played out in CS it seems like it's just the Azure Grimoire he uses that gives him that property and if you gave it to anyone else it would be the same thing. But Hakumen and others always act like there's something special about Ragna specifically.

I heard somewhere that Ragna and his siblings were created from the remains of the beast, which may explain why Ragna has no problems using it.

I took it more as an extension of the Dark One thing. Ragna is destined to become something threatening the stability of the world--the Destroyer--just as someone with the Power of Order is destined to annihilate the Destroyer. That dark destiny manifests itself as Ragna becoming the Black Beast. If this fate was somehow averted, another morbid turn of events would pop up, unless there's a way to subvert it entirely. This is mostly just theorizing on my part though. The whole thing is kind of vague and is mostly treated as a pathogen/antibody metaphor.

Saying that Ragna is the reincarnated Black Beast is a weird issue because he literally becomes the Black Beast in most timelines, and becomes a weaker one in his bad ending. From Rachel's short story, it sounds like the headless statue below the church (the Black Beast's remains) collapses into seithr and affixes to the stump of his arm. Tbh I think Ragna's Azure Grimoire is kind of particular and wouldn't work well with many other people. If he has beast genes after all then that gives a convenient reason why he can use it at all.

Grimoires = E-books

Azure Grimoire = Internet

It basically gives you unlimited power as long as you know what, how and when to use it. Jubei taught Ragna how to manipulate it properly, so...

Also it requires life energy to function, so his life-draining powers are clearly linked to it, and maybe to the Bloodscythe too.

Moreover it's rather interesting how it appears first, before becoming his right arm:

It was shaped in the fashion of a human. However, everything above it's neck was missing.

And probably, incorrect use of it may turn the unfortunate soul into an Arakune-like thingy. Either Ragna's unique aptitude or the Azure doesn't allow him to experience the side-effects of messing with the Boundary.

Funny how Kokonoe calls it the "weakest" btw...

I think Kokonoe just calls it that because it doesn't suit her needs. It's made to drain souls in order to forge a Murakumo Unit. She's had enough of making shit using souls as a resource. The rest of Sector 7, however, is very interested in the thing.

Anyone want to translate this:

Some along the lines of:

Izayoi: Hakumen-sama, what must I do?

Hakumen: ...Draw your sword, Tsubaki Yayoi.

Speaking of which, is there any more info on Izayoi's Arcade Story?

It's about Izayoi, recently freed from the influence of the Imperator, searching for some new meaning to fight for or something. Her bosses are Hakumen and Mu.

Actually when Tager asks Kokonoe why she calls the Azure Grimoire the weakest, she says it's because it has some huge debilitating weakness but doesn't further elaborate on it.

I guess not working against Terumi (until Ragna absorbs the Idea Engine) could be counted as some huge weakness, but...that doesn't feel right, somehow.

Interesting. If Jin and Ragna don't free her, I wonder who does.

Did you find any more screens from Izayoi's arcade, or just this one?

Saw it on ArSys' BB website: http://blazblue.jp/topics.html#topics458

Wow thanks, must mean a lot for Hakumen to be her only other boss besides Mu. Surprised they didn't include Jin.

So she is normal now?

Izayoi only shows up under the control of the Imperator's control in Jin's, Tsubaki's and Makoto's arcade stories. As a playable character (going by her victory comments) and in both Rachel's arcade story and her own, she appears to have already been freed. No context is given as to how, though in Makoto's story for some reason Tsubaki regains control and stops herself from killing Makoto.

That's one of the biggest things in BlazBlue, people do not give information to eachother (atleast with Jubei, Rachel and maybe Kokonoe). They can throw some cryptic messages or bits of information, but never just straight out tell what stuff are or waht they should and shouldn't do.

So she will be free from Imperator control in this game?then this will solves one problem, but i know that the enemy still have a plan.

Wow that's a surprise and that's pretty cool to hear as well.

She will probably be freed, but it's not like the arcade stories are all canon.

Yea, they're only semi-cannon for the most part.

So she's free, but now searching for what "justice" truly is.....I like it, it furthers Tsubaki's development rather than leaving the saving to someone else.
