.:TM:. Posted October 17, 2012 Posted October 17, 2012 You seriously aren't going to give them a chance to actually explain it once the game comes out? Any way you look at it it's a retcon and they'll probably pull something out of their ass to explain it. Give me one reason why I should expect anything else? Mori isn't exactly a master writer. Yes, she has it, but she doesn't use it. Notice how she activates it when she goes unlimited? The basic murakumo can function at partial strength without the grimoire. Haz needed the azure link to /forge/ Mu, but she can work at low-power now without it. Nu didn't need the azure like Mu does, Nu was created like a simple Murakumo, the Azure is only really because of how she's supposed to join with Ragna and form the black beast. Mu needed it to even be possible. Also the time illusion is a bad plot point all in itself, just an excuse for Mori to bring back all the characters from the past and make them all relevant in the main story.

Nu isn't exactly a simple murakumo. She was a failed attempt to make the Eye, implying she had the same goals at the beginning.
Nemesis Posted October 17, 2012 Posted October 17, 2012 Any way you look at it it's a retcon and they'll probably pull something out of their ass to explain it. You do a pretty good job understanding teh story and being pissed about non canon or ridiculous bullshit -- explain to me if rachels comment during the story to rags : "Shes already been tempered" has any bearing on this?
SoWL Posted October 17, 2012 Posted October 17, 2012 Also Noel turning into Mu-12 makes absoloutely no sense. Ragna destroyed her helmet and severed her link to the Azure, Takamagahara directly mention how she lost the link. Now Rachel can just shit out some sort of spell to make Noel control it. Well, why didn't Rachel just do that in the first place :U There goes what little respect I had for the story. Rachel just turned her into Mu (by, I dunno, re-establishing the link?), not made it easier (or possible, for that matter) to control it. It's all up to Noel now - for all we know, it might take Ragna another arm or two to fix her this time. Just wait till we have something other than a short blurb about it.
.:TM:. Posted October 17, 2012 Posted October 17, 2012 Alrighty, we're just going in circles, enough of this. It's atleast awesome that they're in the game, plus Mu-12 getting a new astral was badly needed for obvious reasons.
Agni Posted October 17, 2012 Posted October 17, 2012 I'm telling you people, it's time manipulation that allows Rachel to do it. The game's plot allegedly revolves around a "Time Illusion" and the idea of time no longer having meaning. When the Nemesis Horizon pops up in the opening, there's a clock counting up on the screen that gets corrupted and disappears after Nu and Mu show up. There's also the exploding hourglass. Gotta love time fuckery. Us writers love it because we can use it justify damn near anything.
SoWL Posted October 17, 2012 Posted October 17, 2012 Let the Mu holy war commence, I suppose. The only info that we have right now: μ12ストーリー:親友(ツバキ)を救うために蒼の力を制御する方法を探すために一人旅に出る ノエルがレイチェルの力を借りてなんやかんやしてμになるっぽい 普通に中身はノエル Rough translation by yours truly: Story mode: Noel wishes to control the power of the Azure to save Tsubaki and turns into Mu thanks to Rachel's powers. She's still the same old Noel inside. So, as I see it, she's going to constantly flip between her useless self and Mu's GOTTA DESTROY EVERYTHING mode. And, since she has no idea how to control it, it's going to be more of the latter.
WolfCrimson Posted October 17, 2012 Posted October 17, 2012 But she's "still the same old Noel inside"... which from what I understand is that when in Mu armor, she is not Mu, but Noel.
raziel12 Posted October 17, 2012 Posted October 17, 2012 i knew it they wouldnt get rid of mu cause she still can have room in the story as noel unlimted form or somthing and i bet lamda might return on the system version of it or the 2nd remake of it but i was kinda hope nu would be looking diffrent since she is the sword of the impentor

Vordoxen Posted October 17, 2012 Posted October 17, 2012 Hello! http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=L5HZmaPzjic#t=70s ^ Who is that?
Chaoschao222 Posted October 17, 2012 Posted October 17, 2012 No one knows for sure, but she shares the most traits with Tsubaki and her BBCP art.
Zuranamee Posted October 17, 2012 Posted October 17, 2012 The novel illustration zeth posted is Ayame Yayoi, Tsubaki's ancestor. Also, weird speculations over on JP side. They think the girl at 1:10 might be something like Tsubaki turned into a Prime Field/Murakumo or even Tsubaki possessed by the Imperator after the Imperator ditches Saya's body. >Tsubaki prime field I don't even >Tsubaki controlled by Imperator Possibly
Circuitous Posted October 17, 2012 Posted October 17, 2012 Looks like Tsubaki without the coat on. The collar/shirt thing I can't think of the proper name for looks a lot like what Noel's wearing nowadays. I guess SKD got his wish.
Aiddon Posted October 17, 2012 Posted October 17, 2012 I actually think the Unknown Girl looks a bit more like Caelica than Tsubaki.
Circuitous Posted October 17, 2012 Posted October 17, 2012 If Caelica had Tsubaki's hair color/style/accessories and was in any way alive, that might just be plausible.
raziel12 Posted October 17, 2012 Posted October 17, 2012 Dark Tsubaki the Izayoi prime field device lol oh god no ill admit at first i thought it was Celica untill i the hair beads lol
zephyr07 Posted October 18, 2012 Posted October 18, 2012 If Caelica had Tsubaki's hair color/style/accessories and was in any way alive, that might just be plausible. Caelica IS around. In PS4 Nirvana runs off to a room beneath the church at the mage's association, caelica follows her, ending up entering the boundary, then at the end of the novel kokonoe summons her back to present time. Hurray for chrono phantasma shenanigans but yeah it's mostly likely something to do with tsubaki.
Starlight777 Posted October 18, 2012 Posted October 18, 2012 So in that screencap of Platinum from the opening, that I guess is part of her ending she is definitely looking at Phantom. If you look closely you can see the rim of Phantom's hat.
SolxBaiken Posted October 18, 2012 Posted October 18, 2012 Yeah, which makes sense if Phantom is indeed Nine, probably trying to reconcile with her long lost sister.
Tokkan Posted October 18, 2012 Posted October 18, 2012 Yeah, which makes sense if Phantom is indeed Nine, probably trying to reconcile with her long lost sister. Trinity and Nine aren't sisters... they were close friends. Until Terumi tricked Trinity into undoing the Mind Eater spell.
SolxBaiken Posted October 18, 2012 Posted October 18, 2012 Oh sorry, was thinking about Celica, but yeah Platinum is probably reconciling with her friend.
Tong Posted October 18, 2012 Posted October 18, 2012 It's definitely Caelica. Same hair and eye colors. Tsubaki's beads are trying to throw us off.
Tokkan Posted October 18, 2012 Posted October 18, 2012 It's definitely Caelica. Same hair and eye colors. Tsubaki's beads are trying to throw us off. LOL. Wish people would stop saying it's Celica. Doesn't look at all like her. They're just setting themselves up for disappointment with crazy assumptions like that.
