I feared they would constantly take close ups of Noel's ass and Litchi's or Makoto's cleavage whenever they were on screen so yes, it was pretty tame. Even the hot springs scene wasn't that intense, it was weird, awkward and out of place, but not as perveted as most hot spring or beach episodes.

If anything it was just badly animated. I bet if it was drawn well people would have liked it.

But the real problem was that there was barely enough room for real plot as it was, so it was taking up precious time.

Huh, that's pretty cool. I was honestly not expecting a change from the original anime, but it is good to hear that they are bumping up the quality a bit now that they are not restricted to a weekly schedule.
