HeatEXTEND Posted September 3, 2013 Posted September 3, 2013 Like DLC of their original costumes? A vanilla Potemkin skin would be the first to crack my "IM NEVER BUYING DLC COSTUMES-armor" for sure :p

shinr Posted September 3, 2013 Posted September 3, 2013 (edited) Something from NeoGAF: Kohatsu Acrade announced new games for Sega's ALL.NET service, among them is Guilty Gear Xrd sometime in Spring 2014. Edited September 3, 2013 by shinr
SoWL Posted September 3, 2013 Posted September 3, 2013 TGS info 1, 2 and 3, all in Japanese. Xrd is absent from Arc's lineup, unfortunately. Isn't it technically a Sega game, so it could still be there?
shinr Posted September 3, 2013 Posted September 3, 2013 (edited) Isn't it technically a Sega game, so it could still be there? Nope, the only time Guilty Gear is mentioned is in part 3 of that TGS PDF, in 三和電子/Sanwa/Miwa/SCC Electronics' description, but in "working with Arc Systems Works, the creators of Guilty Gear and BlazBlue" sense. BladeOfJustice7 Posted September 3, 2013 Posted September 3, 2013 Nah, I think they're gonna announce another new Guilty Gear. Ya know, keep the ball rolling. What?
Appledash- Posted September 3, 2013 Posted September 3, 2013 What? Well, they heard we like waiting for a new guilty gear, so they gotta announce one more so we can wait for guilty gear while waiting for guilty gear while waiting for guilty gear. Can't stop now, y'know?

Oh lord, I wish ArcSys would get their priorities straight before adding more to their "to-do list" which they can barely handle as it is...
kosmos badgirl Posted September 4, 2013 Posted September 4, 2013 So a console release could happen at the end of 2014 or probably at the beginning of 2015.
Kurushii Posted September 4, 2013 Posted September 4, 2013 I wonder if they'll push back console release so that they can release more characters over time to arcade.
Suzaku Posted September 4, 2013 Posted September 4, 2013 TGS info 1, 2 and 3, all in Japanese. Xrd is absent from Arc's lineup, unfortunately. Just because it's not listed in the lineup doesn't mean it won't be represented. Most major titles don't get announced in the initial lineup, and are instead revealed during the actual trade show.
Rhiya Posted September 4, 2013 Posted September 4, 2013 I've got it They're gonna announce GGXXACP+R DDD it'll be a balance revision of +R with Xrd graphics for the people who want shiny graphics and FRCs too and then while everyone is confused as fuck they'll upgrade HnK
White Man Posted September 4, 2013 Posted September 4, 2013 Oh lord, I wish ArcSys would get their priorities straight before adding more to their "to-do list" which they can barely handle as it is... No kidding. They've got so many titles in development right now and it seems like they're announcing new projects every couple of weeks. Seeing the company pick up this kind of momentum is exciting, but more and more stuff is slipping through the cracks. AC+ got one of the most half-assed ports they've ever made, and now it's looking like patching the game outside of Japan has completely fallen off their radar. I feel like BlazBlue is kind of getting shoved aside as well, especially with them announcing a brand new title the same month the console version of CP comes out. It's like everyone in the company just got addicted to caffeine all at the same time.
Chrome Homura Posted September 4, 2013 Posted September 4, 2013 and then while everyone is confused as fuck they'll upgrade HnK Fine by me. New characters (Such as the Nanto-Goshasei folks, especially Juza) would be... I can't even. But yeah, ArcSys need to start finishing their meals before putting more food on the table. It's getting out of hand.

Otherwise they'll end up like how Square Enix was for the past 5 years, incapable of finishing any of their important projects and having too many hands in too many different projects. I certainly hope this won't be the case, since those of us in NA (especially Canada since ACR took even longer to get here), have largely been neglected. In spite of bridging the gap between the West and East. It's nice that they want to expand but give us what you promised us initially first before you promote more shit. >_> Anyways enough ArcSys localization bashing on my part. With these new cinematic intros I'm worried about how they'll affect pre-fight intros, by either making them even more badass than AC, or potentially nonexistent or simply plain. Since Daisuke didn't work on AC, so obviously he had no role in all those awesome prefight intros, which is something I've grown to love in ArcSys games and especially in GG.
White Man Posted September 4, 2013 Posted September 4, 2013 With these new cinematic intros I'm worried about how they'll affect pre-fight intros, by either making them even more badass than AC, or potentially nonexistent or simply plain. Since Daisuke didn't work on AC, so obviously he had no role in all those awesome prefight intros, which is something I've grown to love in ArcSys games and especially in GG. I was thinking about those intros and how some of them seem weirdly... environment specific. Take May's, for example: How is she going to ride a dolphin across a large body of water if the fight takes place on Sol's stage, which appears to be in the middle of a desert? (I know the whole summoning marine animals out of thin air thing doesn't make sense either, but work with me here.) I'm thinking maybe what we saw at the loketest were single player mode intros that precede CPU opponents you fight in arcade mode to make the fights seem more cinematic, while PVP matches might have shorter, more simple character intros reminiscent of what we saw in the earlier games. This would also free them up to have special intros between certain matchups. It's a completely random theory with no basis outside of my imagination, but I figured it wouldn't hurt to toss it out there.
Jocelot Posted September 4, 2013 Posted September 4, 2013 Ehh It's not so bad, Injustice was full of disjointed intros like that. Aquaman would swim up from the ocean and land on the Watchtower (located in space). Superman, in certain costumes, would fly from the Fortress of Solitude...and land in the Fortress of Solitude. Honestly I'm gonna miss the classic intros, these zoomed in 3D intros you see in SFIV or MK9 or whatever don't beat the ones you see in the sprite based games. Nobody has special VS animations anymore lol.
RurouniLoneWolf Posted September 4, 2013 Posted September 4, 2013 Just a quick FYI/snippet from the SRK article for those who may have been misled by the article's title The tweet also mentions that a new 2D fighter will most likely be announced in October, though no information on the developer was included.
Circuitous Posted September 4, 2013 Posted September 4, 2013 Good point. ASW is also a publisher and has put out games that they did not develop, such as Chaos Code and Arcana Heart 3. Don't be too quick to judge, folks.
Appledash- Posted September 4, 2013 Posted September 4, 2013 Nobody has special VS animations anymore D':
Henaki Posted September 4, 2013 Posted September 4, 2013 I thought the game was being released in Oct. Regardless it wouldn't surprise me if it was like, something not Arcsys related. It could even be.... Skullgirls arcade.
STenSatsu Posted September 4, 2013 Posted September 4, 2013 Though to be fair, we still don't know if Xrd is the new fighting game IP for the PS4 that they were talking about. Given that it probably isn't, I'd expect an announcement at some point.
Rhapsody Posted September 4, 2013 Posted September 4, 2013 It could even be.... Skullgirls arcade. That was already announced though.
