Watching P2 Faust's intro made me realize that his model isn't flipped, since I can still read his clothing text fine. Or they only flip the text: I think I've seen something like that on some P4U sprite rips.

That said, the full text on Faust's back is "A merry heart doeth good like a medicine.", and his shoulder screws read "Stimulation". Couldn't catch the text on his paper back, but the fact that it's upside down is a nice touch.

And Slayer's stage has a lot of weird stuff going on, like a window frame (?) clipping through Sharon, or a huge red ghost in the right corner of the screen.

Kenji: I'm so fucking hype!! I think this game might actually be better than reload!!! I told my gf we aren't together for a month when this comes out.

Hahahaha, i will be in the lab for sure when this comes out. I actually want to try new characters this time if they end up having any. Also will come visit during that month when it comes out.

Wow, Chemical Love looks REALLY bad. Didn't even hit May when she was right next to her.

D: I'm really not liking the way it looks in this game either. Well her 6HS is dash cancellable now(on the first hit at least) I guess that is something. lol

That new HCL range makes me cringe as well. But hey, everything's subject to change.

EDIT: Actually, looking back at the video, May uses 6P to hit through the Chemical Love. I'm under the impression the graphic looks short, but the range is much bigger than we think.

Haha, that's true. I hope my comment didn't come across as "SHE SUCKS NOW, I'M DITCHING HER". I've been through enough loketests now to know that first impressions don't mean much and that everything is subject to change.

But wow, it's certainly a big difference from +R, which I would even say has a hitbox that is too good.

At 10:09 and 1:30, May (although running forward or skidding to a stop), goes under it completely.

Slayer

Dandy step

HS looks good, small hop (overhead? Sol blocked it standing) into some type of launch is pretty quick and Sl was able to block upon touching the ground. Slthough opponent recovered while Slayer was mid air (in neutral stance though) so it's unclear how punishable it is.

S-HS string unchanged? Visuals look ok, It's Late portion on CH didn't ground-bounce? Hard to tell, Sol was quick with burst.

P, Pilebunker is short as hell. Still punishable on block.

K, Crosswise - nice visuals, seems to be the same.

Undertow looks cool, not much else can be said

2D distance is shorter then #re, more like AC.

6K feint is still in by the looks of it.

jHS doesn't ground bounce on grounded CH, or Sol was quick with burst again?

DoT is shit, travel distance and follow-ups look like #re. CH made no difference.

2HS looks very cool, launches on CH, but no vacuum - so it's #re style as well.

dashes look cool

AFAIK, there are no official Ringedge 2 specs for now, but the unofficial ones seem to be about on par with PS3. In any case, the main reason behind Xrd's good looks is the style, not processing power, polygons or anything like that, so there's no reason to suspect that PS3 won't be able to handle it.

Lol wut?

The Ringedge 2 if anything is comparable to the next gen consoles, if not, more powerful

I assume the PS3 version will merely use lower res and have some stuff cut from the stages. Those Ringedge specs are easily PS4-tier, probably better.

As long as the gameplay stays solid they can do whatever graphical shortcuts they want.

I think that they nerfed her range based on how easy is the input now :/

The good thing is that is a local test so there is a great chance that they improve her hitboxes for the next local test :3

to add:

slayer 6k and 6h look like derpy reload speed

backdash still jc'able

forward dash distance appears to have increased considerably. you can apparently cancel the dash midway with grounded normals? (2s) i wonder what they did to the invincibility

short aggressive airdash from slash

dandy s got the stump treatment

dandy s-h doesnt bounce on ch? i'm assuming burst animation is still delayed by ch hitstop

sol got hit by reversal dot but he probably fucked up his meaty

i actually don't like the dot cinematic. it's like if bionic arm super freeze lasted three times as long. doesn't feel right

anything said on airthrow range? AC range or pre-AC range?

Yeah, I could see it being like MvC3 Vita, where the stages are still 3D but have all animation removed. It probably won't be that drastic though.

I think we can trust Arc enough not to cut the PS3 framerate to 30, lol.

You can just lower texture quality, background animation/poly count (especially towards lower focus/back areas) and textures can all take an easy hit. Fighting games are pretty easy to port backwards imo, since almost all the emphasis is on the characters.

Maybe it's just due to staff wanting the lines for the loketest to move quickly, but I'm suppressed no one has commented on how HIGH the damage is in these vids! And that's saying something being that we're talking GG which is a high damage game by nature already.

Or maybe xrd doesn't use ringedge2 at its full potential, hence being perfectly fine on ps3 eh? Yeah i'm sad about losing a ton of AC shit of characters that I don't even use.

That strikes me as something done for testing purposes TBH. I noticed it but didn't say anything. Then again, maybe they intend for combos to be shorter.

I second Henaki, the high damage is probably part of the testing. Though I don't think we'll see much of an overall damage nerf either, it's GG afterall.
