Skyheartxia Posted March 22, 2014 Posted March 22, 2014 Honestly button for button faust isn't that far from diz. i'm not particularly sure what this means, so i cant comment.
Lynxfort Posted March 23, 2014 Posted March 23, 2014 May Iruka-san Yoko and Iruka-san Tate’s input priority changed. What does "input priority" mean ??
Circuitous Posted March 23, 2014 Posted March 23, 2014 One's vertical ([2]8) and the other's horizontal ([4]6). Their respective input priority determines which move you'd get if you hit [1]9, since that input could apply to either move.
Destin Posted March 23, 2014 Posted March 23, 2014 i'm not particularly sure what this means, so i cant comment. They have many buttons that fill similar roles in the poking game. Dizzy/Faust: J.s/j.h 2d/2h 5k/5p 5h/5s F.s/5k 2k/2p They aren't perfect analogues, but I would say in #R faust is the closest to dizzy, it's just not immediately obvious. Their loose neutral gameplan is fairly close too (they both try and setup either items or fish to cover their movement in. The opponent usually tries to prevent this.)
Skyheartxia Posted March 23, 2014 Posted March 23, 2014 snip ah yeah, i see where you're coming from.
r0b0t Posted March 24, 2014 Posted March 24, 2014 Does anyone have any reason to believe the Netplay on the eventual console release for #XRD will be leaps and bounds better than the previous versions, if so why? Also I have my own ideas as to why it will be better, but I wanted to read some input. I would imagine this would be relevant Theoretical gameplay discussion. If not I am sorry.

What makes you think it will be substantially better? If anything it will be worse due to how GG is in general. I guess Xrd might be more forgiving execution-wise online since it doesn't have FRC timing or character-depending gravity (not sure about this one actually) so it may be more playable online that AC, but that's not actually make the netcode itself per se any better. And it certainly won't help you block TK Bad Moon any easier. Arcsys has been making tweaks to their netcode progressively (compare CP to CT netcode) but I don't see why it would suddenly make a huge leap in Xrd. The change in the game engine doesn't really affect this since netcode is mostly about sending inputs back and forth.
4r5 Posted March 24, 2014 Posted March 24, 2014 Only so much you can do without touching the nation's infrastructure. It may get "better" because a lot of people will be online and so you'll have a higher chance of finding good connections.

If not I am sorry. If you mean as in AC+R port, yes. Because unlike those half-assed ports, they care about this game. I expect netcode to at least be BB's level, which isn't perfect, or ideal, but better...
BladeOfJustice7 Posted March 24, 2014 Posted March 24, 2014 Xrd Character rank according to Machabou (Hands down the best KY) @matyabou S: ED, MI, SO, FA A: KY, CH, AX, MA B: SL, BE, IN, VE C: PO #GGXrd Credit goes to @Mynusdono for the translation. Said that this is just based off month one or so. A lot of characters are under represented and still need time to develop. I think Zato will stay at the top or near it. Dead Man's hand is the command throw with little Eddie? I think its useless seeing as its really slow and damned fang still exist. Thoughts? Also Circ/shtkn or anyone, is there a way to reduce the number of posts I see per page back to ten?
Pichy Posted March 24, 2014 Posted March 24, 2014 I can agree with most of that tier list. I'd be inclined to put Sol at the top of A and CH at the bottom of S but it's certainly a good indicator of what was winning in the first month.
Dandy J Posted March 24, 2014 Posted March 24, 2014 he is serious about sols ranking? there was a reply that indicated maybe he was joking about that but i got no clue regarding the context. anyway it seems pretty logical. i agree w pichy, chipp and sol seems like they should trade places
king of heart Posted March 25, 2014 Posted March 25, 2014 Thoughts? Also Circ/shtkn or anyone, is there a way to reduce the number of posts I see per page back to ten? For N-Otoko picking Sol over Venom makes wonder is Sol really that good or is it Venom that's just so bad! Even Machaboo himself is playing Sol nowhttp://ggxrd.com/pg/ranking_view.php?mode=exe&type=psr_rank

In Sol's case he says his tachimawari is simply among the best if not the best. But does this tier list really matter that much? For instance, Millia might be regarded as "top" but she seems to have bad matchups against Sol/Ky/May/Slayer (again source is Eki-chan). The "worst" characters in this game can still win and it doesn't feel like there are extremely fucked up matchups.

Even Machaboo himself is playing Sol nowhttp://ggxrd.com/pg/ranking_view.php?mode=exe&type=psr_rank I would't take machaboos switching seriously. I stuck it out with ky throughout almost all of ac, switched to testament and then went back to ky. And OCV'd people with ky in ACR. The fact that he puts ky as A tier means that the power gap or whatever between him and sol is negligible. From what I've seen, machaboo just gets bored fast from winning a lot, unlike The Overlord Ogawa. I think he is. I don't think he's strong like "BBCSEX Ragna", but I mean none of us have played the game yet. but what you're saying makes sense. Kurakero really gives sol a opportunity to get in close with minimal risks (not calling the move dumb though), and an improved DI really helps his game among other things. I still think Chipp is S though... FIND MEH is scary as fuck...

Started with Ky, switched to Millia and now to Sol. I think he's simply trying them all.
Jocelot Posted March 25, 2014 Posted March 25, 2014 Happy to see Eddie being regarded as 'DA besssss' again. Although aside from Ogawa and a couple others, I don't see Eddie blowing people up as much as I'd hoped to.

rayplay Posted March 25, 2014 Posted March 25, 2014 Did they post any reasons for character placements? Outside of Pot, I really wanna know the strengths and weaknesses (or lack thereof) that leads to which character being in which placements.
Pichy Posted March 25, 2014 Posted March 25, 2014 Let's look at it this way: S tier is all fairly low-risk, high reward characters. There's two zoners, one shoto with a command grab and divekick (which really opens up his approach options) and a vortex character who's only ever going to go below A tier if her tools simply flat out stop working. A-tier is characters that are other slightly riskier to use (Chipp is like a Milia who has to use clever movement to force respect instead of just plonking Hdisc on their face) or solid spacing characters that don't have quite the options for opening people up as their S-tier contemporaries (Ky lacks Sol's grab or Eddie's corner carry after knockdown, Axl has a shoryu but lacks Faust's ludicrous high/low/command grab mixup game or continual pressure via minifausts, May doesn't crank up stun like she should and only has supers as her reversals) B-tier is characters who have some really good strengths, but not quite the levels of mixup, space control or sheer damage as those above them. Slayer's lost his crazy hitboxes (rest in peace, 2H) and #R damage while also losing the varied mixups of AC. Bedman's got the space control (and a damn good reversal super), but currently both his mixup game and damage are lacking. Most of the top-ranked Bedmen are basically just doing a chain into tatsu or sumo splash as their combo after all. I-no's probably going to be fine once people work out janky resets with that command grab. Venom's kind of like a weaker Faust/Ky with neither the command grab or shoryu. C-tier is "I could probably write an essay on how much they nerfed this guy".
mynus Posted March 25, 2014 Posted March 25, 2014 Did they post any reasons for character placements? Outside of Pot, I really wanna know the strengths and weaknesses (or lack thereof) that leads to which character being in which placements. Well it was posted on Twitter, not much you can do with explanation with only 140 chars, even though Japanese language goes a really long way on Twitter due to the nature of kanji.

Ronove Posted March 25, 2014 Posted March 25, 2014 Eki-chan is apparently switching from Millia to Faust by the way.
Lynxfort Posted March 25, 2014 Posted March 25, 2014 While seeing the news of NA release of Chrono Phantasma..what the exact reasons behind the huge difference between JP and NA versions ?? I hope they don't intend to delay Xrd because they want to include english voice acting if it one of the reasons make NA ver come so late.. Note : the difference between JP and Na of Street fighter 4 is 5 days..-_-

ASW out sources to Aksys (sometimes) for localization. BBCP was done all by ASW and they wanted to get the Japanese release completed before they worked on other languages. They haven't even made public how they are handling GGXrd for console so you'll have to wait and see.
