AderTheBloodedge Posted December 9, 2014 Posted December 9, 2014 http://bit.ly/12nVi4gu mad? this is legit?
LockedAndClush Posted December 9, 2014 Posted December 9, 2014 EDIT Yeah, got it now. I think they're veeery wrong about something here. Or maybe they were in talks with someone about it, but it failed and they couldn't edit it in game. Whatever it is, the EU release seems as nonexistent as ever.
nyyyyy Posted December 9, 2014 Posted December 9, 2014 Honestly, I dont even get why people would care about the EU release. All three available versions are cheaper than a EU version would ever be. We live in 2014. What exactly is the point of a physical copies anyway?
youcanwonder Posted December 9, 2014 Posted December 9, 2014 I prefer physical copy over digital anyday.
heavymetalmixer Posted December 9, 2014 Posted December 9, 2014 American LE to be released on 12/23/2014: http://www.aksysgames.com/2014/12/09/guilty-gear-xrd-sign-limited-edition-releases-on-1223/

Because a local release would lead to a bigger scene, which leads to better competition and richer experience for everyone involved.

NeoStrayCat Posted December 9, 2014 Posted December 9, 2014 Well, the point of having a physical copy can be addressed in a couple of ways... Â Play/Install/Sell/Trade/Sales/Etc. Â Digital, on the other hand, is a little different in contrast.
LockedAndClush Posted December 9, 2014 Posted December 9, 2014 I plan on buying physical copies of most games I own digital... when they're down to 10$ used. With fighting games the idea of having an item on your shelf is not worth missing out on days/weeks of play for, in my oppinion, of course.
Alkipot Posted December 9, 2014 Posted December 9, 2014 So, Canada is having issues with Xrd eh? Fuck. I'm gonna have to look around Toronto and hope someplace has it coming in.  May have to do the digital thing, so a couple of quick questions for those who know:  Can you use NA playstation cash cards to pay for HK/JP purchases?  Will this game be released digitally in NA?

No. You need HK/JP Playstation cash cards in order to do that.Â

Alkipot Posted December 9, 2014 Posted December 9, 2014 No. You need HK/JP Playstation cash cards in order to do that. Shit. Thanks.
RurouniLoneWolf Posted December 9, 2014 Posted December 9, 2014 Will this game be released digitally in NA? Â Yes, it will be.

Carrying a disc to an event or when visiting other players is easier than carrying a whole PS3 with you.
nyyyyy Posted December 9, 2014 Posted December 9, 2014 Because a local release would lead to a bigger scene, which leads to better competition and richer experience for everyone involved.  I dont think you understand what drives Europe. Fighting games arent irrelevant over here because of the lack of EU releases. They are irrelevant because barely any decent ones make it to PC (the continents leading platform). The quality of well known fighting game ports generally is abysmal. BBCT and GG are the perfect examples for that. Another one is the most recent iteration of SF that used GFWL, a completely atrocious service, then switch to Steamworks which ended up making it almost impossible to play the game for 4+ months.  Fighting games wont be relevant in Europe until the japanese finally feel like putting some effort into their ports.  The competitive scene has a truckload of options and no reason to concentrate on the PSN. You can play CS, Quake, BW, SC2, WCTFT, Openarena, CPMA, DotA, League of Legends, Hearthstone etc. Whats supposed the be a persons motivation to buy an entire entertainment system for one genre, pay for online (in case of PSN+),be forced to buy a new peripheral (arcade controller) and maybe even headphones (because you cant just attach them to your Playstation) and a new screen (to assure HDMI input, some probably only have DVI/VGA (DVI-HDMI and VGA-HDMI cables tend to cause additional lag))? And all of that for inferior quality and a worse experience.  The fact that most of them will lack friends who are interested in playing fighting games (arcade scene never existed outside of UK/France) is another problem. An EU release wont change that. Not even starting on the fact that PC is the vastly superior platform for voice chat, texting, research, hitbox/hurtbox analysis etc.
Jocelot Posted December 10, 2014 Posted December 10, 2014 So....I can't fight anyone online. Every match in ranked or player either fails to connect or I get kicked out of the room. I need to hone my Bed skills...
nyyyyy Posted December 10, 2014 Posted December 10, 2014 So....I can't fight anyone online. Every match in ranked or player either fails to connect or I get kicked out of the room. I need to hone my Bed skills... Â Good to hear. Means that I am not the only one who recently encountered this problem. Did you open all ports for the PS3, disable UPnP and specified the consoles IP? Solved the problems for me, at least temporary. Â Sometimes I still fail to connect to any lobbies in ranked. I gave up for now, the bars cant be trusted anyway and the experience as a whole is pretty subpar. Normal lobbies it is.
Soviet Bear Posted December 10, 2014 Posted December 10, 2014 I had this 5 minute period where it refused to connect to anyone. Left Network mode and then went back into the lobby, then it worked fine.
