Stellarcircle5 Posted December 8, 2014 Posted December 8, 2014 Juuuuuuuuuuuust waiting for Play-asia to send me the codes for my PSN cards. Then it's time for Xrd! Can't wait to rock the BED!! They've always sent them to me instantaneously. Dunno why you're having to wait 0_o
Jocelot Posted December 8, 2014 Posted December 8, 2014 They've always sent them to me instantaneously. Dunno why you're having to wait 0_o Huh, that's weird. I've ordered PSN cards via Play-asia a few times for the JoJo's ASB dlc characters and it took a few hours for me to clear then too. I thought it was like that for everybody. WHAT THE FUCK PLAYASIA SEND ME MY CODES SO I CAN BED THE COMPETITION...... please
Soviet Bear Posted December 8, 2014 Posted December 8, 2014 I've been playing this game since Thursday and I'm loving it. Finally decided to stick with Potemkin and Venom, so just need to get confident enough to play with random people online. Waiting for a new Guilty Gear all these years has paid off. Aside from some of my favorite chars missing, it's everything I wanted it to be (I was big on #reload, but didn't like AC all that much). Oh, as far as latency goes: Serbia VS Serbia: 2F Delay; Serbia VS Sweden: 3-4F Delay/10F if streaming; This is PS4 (me) VS PS3. I played versus someone from the UK who was also on PS4 and the latency was minimal. I feel like this netcode is pretty much the same as BBCP's, at least as far as playing with Europe goes. If any East Coast players want to help me test the connection, feel free to ring me up on PSN.
Clousephinat Posted December 8, 2014 Posted December 8, 2014 The same has happened to me sometimes, I believe it depends on the amount of the card you're purchasing and probably the availability of them, but you're pretty always assured to have your code at least in 1 day for sure.
Justice7541 Posted December 8, 2014 Posted December 8, 2014 What's the fastest way to grind out Sin? I've done all the easy character combo challenges and missions and I'm only up to like 180k. Is there anything else that gives you a good amount of points? Seems like netplay doesn't give anything and offline versus is pretty negligible.

balFrog Posted December 8, 2014 Posted December 8, 2014 Some newbie questions, since I wasn't sure where to put this. I know that characters have different defense modifiers, but how much health does everyone start with? I can't find this data anywhere, and whether the starting health is the same for all characters or different. What buttons do you use to tech, and when do you tech? I keep getting stuck in invalid combos because I don't know when to mash. When I tech, how many frames do I have to wait afterwards before I resume control? Many of the challenges begin with 6A close to the ground with a jump cancel follow-up, but I almost never see an opportunity to use this during matches and usually instead meet opponents in the air with slash or HS. How do I jump cancel an attack for my second jump? Suppose I do j.S > (jump cancel) j.HS > Vapor Thrust with Ky, do I just hold upforward before I push HS or do I need to push upforward simultaneously with HS? How strict is the timing window for reversals? I find myself trying to mash HS Vapor Thrust on wakeup when pressured and most of the time 2.HS comes out instead. This game is really fun so far, looking forward to the NA release for a bigger playerbase.
Henaki Posted December 8, 2014 Posted December 8, 2014 I played this game like every chance I got at NEC it's so FUN
HepatitisQ Posted December 8, 2014 Posted December 8, 2014 So does Story Mode have the full English dub with that patch as well or just arcade and versus?

For future reference, here is a good place to ask such questions: http://www.dustloop.com/forums/index.php?/topic/18-guilty-gear-faq-thread-ask-your-questions-here/page-62. As for your questions: Everyone has the same health. If I'm mashing, I usually alternate P and K and hold back to get FD. I'm not sure of the frame count, but it's not very long. I assume you mean 6P. For most characters, 6P is an anti-air and has upper-body invulnerability, so there are plenty of good times to use it in matches (although this is character specific). Up-forward, then H. But Ky usually does j.S > jc > j.S > j.H > Vapor Thrust In older games, it was a 2-frame window per button, since you can negative edge inputs. I'm not sure about Xrd yet, but it should be at least 2 frames (there could be some buffer I don't know about).

If you're going to back tech, hold a button (I use P) and alternate at least 2 other ones (K and S work, though you can also piano K/S/H). That'll cover more frames so that if there's a 1-frame gap in their combo you can get out. Neutral tech has startup whereas back and front tech don't, so there are situations where you can forward/back tech but not neutral tech. 3. I'm not sure and it's not listed in the wiki, sorry dude. I know that neutral tech has shorter recovery than front/back to compensate for having startup (I think I remember reading somewhere that a neutral tech is 6f, but that might have been another game?). Tech's are strike invul but not throw invul. 4. This one isn't a question. Anyway, for almost everyone (Elphelt is now the exception) 6P is upper body invul. Meeting people with an air-to-air works from time to time, but you wont always have that option. 6P is an anti air that works for everyone, though some people have better tools to AA with (like Sol with VV). 5. I guess at the same time. You'll just feel it out and get it with practice. Kinda depends on the move you hit with and the move you're canceling into though. Most situations will have you jump and do the next move simultaneously, but I know of some combos in +R that involve delays. For example, you'd be canceling a move that starts on frame 16 out of a move that has 20 frames of stun, so there's 4f of wiggle room, and you really need to make the most of it to get optimized follow ups. I'm sure there are similar situations in Xrd. 6. Pretty tight. I generally have a problem with reversals too, though I think it's more lenient in this game. I've heard stuff like, "for reversal backdash, do your 44 input and hold the second 4 to make it easier" which never works. *Shrug* It's hard to time, but you'll have to get used to it.
CCVengeance Posted December 8, 2014 Posted December 8, 2014 So does Story Mode have the full English dub with that patch as well or just arcade and versus? yes the story has the dub.
Destin Posted December 8, 2014 Posted December 8, 2014 On teching- It's not that back teching is bad per se, but a lot players default to back teching every time. Forward tech into p or throw is quite powerful, as you have some invul from the tech itself. In reload by the end, neutral tech was by far the most important tech. For timing, just press the tech's before the hits of their combos... If you know how their combos work, put your tech's 1-2 frames ahead of their hits.

Antaiseito Posted December 8, 2014 Posted December 8, 2014 I don't like the build quality of the fightpad that came out with the LE. I will probably pad hack it and use with a VSHG so I can get an Arcade similar experience. I played for 30 minutes and the direction-pad broke off. lol, why would you even offer something like that.... Did feel nice though for the time it worked, can't play on PS4-Pad with shoulder buttons. Using my PS3-version right now with arcade stick.
kosmos badgirl Posted December 8, 2014 Posted December 8, 2014 This is the 3rd time the game crashes on me playing M.O.M, anyone with this problem?. Thank god it seems the game autosaves after every match, so nothing is lost.
Bido Posted December 8, 2014 Posted December 8, 2014 The game crashed once on me right after I finished a Ramlethal M.O.M stage, rebooted ps4 and did the same stage normally. Never happened again in the hours or so I've put into M.O.M.
youcanwonder Posted December 8, 2014 Posted December 8, 2014 Anyone know how to unlock elphelt if u didnt reserve the game?
TITANIUM BEAST!!! Posted December 8, 2014 Posted December 8, 2014 You need to wait until the 18th when she is available for purchase on the PSN store.
Jocelot Posted December 8, 2014 Posted December 8, 2014 Mmmmmm!! Was playing Xrd all last night and I have to wake up early the next day but I don't regret it. Rocking the Tsubu Bedman colors while grinding arcade mode n challenges for $ for Sin. Don't want to be at work right now lol. Edit- can you transfer more then 1 account over from PS3 to PS4? Just curious for the future
Reki Posted December 8, 2014 Posted December 8, 2014 I realized that they removed negative edge. I was wondering if the game had that 3-frame input buffering system just like from bbcp? I can't seem to get it to work with hard links but I did realize that buffering specials or dashes by holding down the last button after an RC works.
king of heart Posted December 8, 2014 Posted December 8, 2014 Anyone had this problem where half of the BG is covered by a gray planehttps://twitter.com/FLaMeOfNoVa/status/541973960150110208

king of heart Posted December 8, 2014 Posted December 8, 2014 Ps4 for me The plane covers the characters during dust animation! I relaunched the game and it works fine.
Yukikaze Posted December 8, 2014 Posted December 8, 2014 Interesting. I'm still using an original 40Gb Fat PS3 and I haven't had any problems. I was actually pleasantly surprised by the loading times of the digital. Have you Digi or Disk? I have heard about these kind of errors on Disk versions before. (not this game).
