You can gold burst after you BS someone, saw it in a vid once but the other guys did a regular burst and the GB missed.  You can't BS a burst.

Yeah I know, Ain did it on Roi, but Roi burst out of it. Since then, I've been curious to see if it works. But that would be so scummy lol I wouldn't be able to resist something like that.

We probably won't know anything more about the US release until there's a solid console date for Japan.

 

I'm betting on there being a MUCH smaller gap between releases than there was for BBCP.

No, I meant why was the "destroyed" logo thing blocked? Does this happen during a certain mode?

The lose/win information always comes up at the end of a match.  It is slightly awkward to have the info come on screen the instant the final blow is delivered, though.  It'd be better if they delayed it at least a couple seconds, especially in the case of an IK where the cinematic sequence isn't even finished yet.

I have a question too, if you use RRC after D>8, you can cancel jumping towards the opponent in the air? Or it's just not possible to do in the first place?

Why should you want that? But anyway, you can do that by simply doble jumping... Remember that in xrd you don't need to do impossible dust, you can just followup with a straight run by pressing 6 by default

One of the many things I want to test when I have the game is if I-No's still able to do VCL loops, and because of the "unnecessary animation that was absolute necessary to attract people that loves cool graphics", I-No can't do that anymore... It seems.

 

I-No seems cool in this game too, don't get me wrong. But it's undeniable that she has lost quite a few things in this game, which is a bit depressing.

Oh my gawd guys. I don't even know how to put my excitement down into words. The game looks fucking beautiful in person. Videos do not do it justice, the shitty videos I took don't do it justice. You really have to experience it for yourself.

 

The game was really easy to jump into despite the fact I'm a stick player and haven't got much experience with the PS4 controller. I was doing Ky's Greed Saver air combo and Millia's air juggle within the second round of the match of using them. The new RCs felt really cool to do! Had no idea what I was doing and was just wasting all my meter, but I can already feel so many possibilities now that I felt the slow down myself. I can also vouch for Ramletheral's IK being the most hype; I always asked one of my random opponents if they could do there IK and I would always step back and see everyone in line eye's glued to the screen when they saw an IK. The most awe inducing one was definitely Ramletheral.

 

I can say that it in fact does feel slower, but it was really a slight difference for me and it didn't stop how amazing it felt. The dust transition as well could be a bit jarring at first, but I never dropped a combo because of it. I kept reminding myself in line to try out Blitz Shield, but I kept forgetting it as soon as I started playing.

 

Unfortunately Aksys seems to be very in the dark about everything:
- Regarding having sticks at EVO, they seemed to be very passionate about bringing sticks to the event. However they are waiting for responses from Arc as well as the stick manufacture to provide the equipment and gear for their demo stations. They gave me the whole spiel on how it's still early in development and the console is still new so there's isn't much to work off of.

- The will also likely have a special limited edition. They are in discussions with Arc about it and what to include and such.

- They have no idea about the PS3 version and how it runs or anything, for Arc has only given them PS4 versions. Lets just trust it does run 60fps.

- And the demo was the same as the one at EVO, so there were no main menu screen for options or training or anything. Just jumped straight to the character select screen.

- They did sell these Xrd t-shirts that said "Guilty Gear Xrd -Sign-" in front, three Xs on the back, and "Heaven" on one sleeve and "Hell" on the other. Needless to say, I'm gonna be wearing this to every GG related event from here on out. Gave out posters too with every purchase! Though I was surprised to find a lot of Xrd related artwork in Artist Alley and bought a shit ton there.

 

So unfortunately, I've come back empty handed. Sorry fellas. But you can atleast bunch me with those who can vouch for Xrd.

 

Believe the hype. Xrd is going to be fucking amazing.

I figured Aksys wouldn't know anything.  ARCSys is doing most of the work in-house for GGXrd, keeping info tight to the chest (since info leakage has happened with VastEdge lately).

 

@Fenrir: If they can animate Ky's hair they can animate Sin's flag. It's probably not that hard at all so it might be a gimmick for Sin, similar to A.B.A. or something.

Keep in mind, although they are using 3D models, they are not being animated in real-time, they are pre-rendered and superimposed like traditional 2D sprites.

 

However, I do agree, it probably relates to his overall mechanic, because you can see the flag open up in certain screens. Honestly, I was hoping for his flag to flow in the wind like Order Sol's kilt, oh well. But I do earnestly believe it is folded by default to cut down on his animation process.

Thinking about it, it's probably due to the fact that the flag, if open like in Overture, would finish to cover a big part of the character during move execution, making the game looks visually confusing. This problem with the weapon was not present in Overture since it's in 3d, and you see your chara from behind, but become evident while switching to a 2D lateral prospective.

Rammy's IK is freaking awesome

It's the best one so far. I hope Sin's IK is even better but he's not the final boss so

I am surprised that such a jokey charcter like Faust is one of the best characters tier wise

 

Faust has always been a high tier character especially between AC and R+, since he doesn't really need (or at least I don't remember being used) of FRC unlike other characters like I-No, and his FB was one of the most fast and rewarding of all.

 

But again, as already mentioned, in GG any character can win, if you train a little harder even the most impossible thing to do like beating Sol Gold with Bridget in Maniac Level is not impossible, and he's probably the worst character you can pick against him (not because he's a bad character, but Sol's offensive can be really troublesome with characters like him).
