HoudiniJr100 Posted September 16, 2013 Posted September 16, 2013 Those actually make me laugh. Espcially when it's something really out there that seems smart as fuck. I proceed to then and roll with it I had a moment like that as arakune way back when I first played extend... Best moment ever
Luminos564 Posted September 16, 2013 Posted September 16, 2013 Those actually make me laugh. Espcially when it's something really out there that seems smart as fuck. Oh Lord, this one P4A match, I was playing Lizzie against this, pretty high ranked (at the time) Yu. He bodied me in the first round, but a 2C-powered Ghastly Wail made short work of him in the next. 3rd round rolls in and neither of us gets a combo going (just a few minor blows exchanged). Anyway I figured I might as well do Mind Charge. Except I messed up the input and used Mahamaon (one of Lizzie's instant kills) instead. Now, I don't know what went through the Yu's head, but he suddenly became far too predictable. >>He uses Ziocar. >>Evade. >>He uses Raging Lion. >>Evade. >>He uses EX Zio. >>Evade. >>Mahamaon goes off. >>Now he either jumped the gun too early, because at the last second, he Ziocar'd right into it. I was like: "Did that seriously just happen?" (>'_')> <('_'<)
Luminos564 Posted September 16, 2013 Posted September 16, 2013 Did ya get it on replay? I kept it for the longest time. But after the patch was released, it stopped working (which the game did say might happen). It was a shame but at least I got my memories of the moment.
HoudiniJr100 Posted September 16, 2013 Posted September 16, 2013 I kept it for the longest time. But after the patch was released, it stopped working (which the game did say might happen). It was a shame but at least I got my memories of the moment. Sad face, Also I am reminded of this fight I had a few weeks ago (day I got my adapter). I was against a yosuke, using the unlikeliest character you'll ever see me with...Chie (barely used chie but whatev). And I just lucked out by random power charges. XD Anyways to steer back on topic. On P4A. My only pet peeve is TEDDIE TEDDIE TEDDIE!
Powerstar7 Posted September 16, 2013 Posted September 16, 2013 The universe is always against getting cool shit on replay. In my case I'm always too hype and continue immediately. My favourite moment was when I was fighting this Yu with Kanji. Won the first round, and then got bopped by vortex, last round rolls in and I spend most of it trying to get in and getting vortexed. When I got the first solid hit I was about to die in 1 more combo, so in my mind I was thinking "Well, I'm going to lose anyway, so let me use instant kill. If it works yay, if it misses I would have lost anyway". So I rapid cancel the combo into instant kill, and at that moment the guy decided to burst and fell into it, and to everyone else in the lobby it looked like I baited burst with IK. I was so amazed I couldn't even compose myself to state that "That was definitely on purpose. I planned that shit :v:" On topic though, my pet peeve in any game is when a character is overused. This was especially bad on Injustice. Everyone would use batman and superman. Luckily things aren't like that anymore.
susano Posted September 16, 2013 Posted September 16, 2013 Getting stuck with someone WAY above my skill level and getting thrashed into never ending combos and resets. At some point, it doesn't help you get any better at the game. Agreed. I must have been drunk when I fought an 807 Mitsuru weeks ago. I managed to win once but it was after a set of painful losses. That's why I would rather fight someone around my level. My pet peeves? P4A: When the only moves your opponent has is AoA and random attacks that don't always work (looking at the scrubby Yus, Kanjis, Labrys, Yukikos and Naotos out there) BB: When I learn something new with my character, get online and fail miserably
Joeby185 Posted September 16, 2013 Posted September 16, 2013 Its annoying when I beat someone two-three times and then they pick ragna on me only to attempt to win then leave. It happened 5 consecutive times one day, person comes in picks hazama, lose pick ragna win (or lose) then leave. This happens so many times why do they not want to use their main on me? lol.

P4A: When the only moves your opponent has is AoA and random attacks that don't always work (looking at the scrubby Yus, Kanjis, Labrys, Yukikos and Naotos out there) I may be a kanji player that likes to bait moves for the divegrab. But nothing gets me boiled more than naotos.. freakin autocombo loves to silence me every. god. damn. TIME! Even TEDDIE is lower on my list than Naoto for cheapest P4A character in the online game. (to be honest I never did find who I find the cheapest. but Naoto is contending high). Here's hoping Yukari won't be like that...and let's hope that I can be able to get back at naotos and teddies with my new changes in P4C.... (also alongside DA MAN)
Blackwolfos Posted September 17, 2013 Posted September 17, 2013 When a lower level player you just beat avoids you like the plague. I think fighting people who are better than me is a learning experience, and when I finally beat those people I feel like I've gotten better because of it. If I hadn't spent so much time getting whooped in CT ranked matches I would probably still be at a beginners level. This is probably just a -me- thing.
JacopeX Posted September 17, 2013 Posted September 17, 2013 Whenever someone beats me and then uses my character against me or the next person just to show off how much better they are with that character...:\ Ok kid, I see you know a bit more tech than I do, someone who just started picking this game up again, about my character. You should totally put that in your resume. If you want to help me, online is not the right place to do it period.>.>
Brother Mojo Posted September 17, 2013 Posted September 17, 2013 Another thing I hate is when people beat you one time and then instantly switch to their sub, as if to say: There's no way you'll ever beat my main, so there's no point in me using him at all. And even if you start beating their sub sometimes they won't switch back because they want to get revenge with their sub, argh.Super late response but... I know I've done this a few times. I try to give people at least a couple games, but at the same time I'd like to have a sub character, rather than just a main and some characters I'd be interested in learning at some point. If I'd be getting better practice playing another character than playing more Tager, I'd like to be practicing one of the other guys. Meanwhile, it also bothers me when people complain about Tager being overpowered. It was worst back in CT when he was complete shit and people whined anyway, but he's never been great and so many people get mad anyway because he has command grabs.
BlackYakuzu94 Posted September 17, 2013 Posted September 17, 2013 Tager is kind of bullshit in 0 connections tho, trust me I know.
HoudiniJr100 Posted September 17, 2013 Posted September 17, 2013 well at least now people will complain for legitimate reasons. (air gigantic tager mothertrucker)
Rhiya Posted September 17, 2013 Posted September 17, 2013 Everyone is bullshit in heavy frame delay. "Oh, I now have to predict the state of the match 7 frames from now? Uhhh, okay." *gets purple grabbed*

Myoro Posted September 17, 2013 Posted September 17, 2013 It's rare, but when you're playing online with some genuinely good person and your system shut down as a result of a blackout, and you're mortified because it must have looked like a rage quit to them. I hate that feeling, but it's made infinitely worse if that match had you on the edge of your seat or your opponent was mopping the floor with you. This has happened to me twice now, and as a result I always give my opponent benefit of the doubt. Another thing. when I'm playing online and my opponent has obviously left their controller. Their character is just standing there, ABSOLUTELY DEFENSELESS. I never know what to do. I feel dirty if I take the win, I don't want incomplete games on my record so resetting isn't an option, and waiting to time out is a drag (usually they never show up) Is there some kind of unspoken ruling of what what should be done here?
mAc Chaos Posted September 17, 2013 Posted September 17, 2013 i just 6b the ground til they come back
HoudiniJr100 Posted September 17, 2013 Posted September 17, 2013 i just 6b the ground til they come back haku-linedancing? oh wait, tager and ragna can try to do it too. XD

This, but I also hate it when you get stomped by someone and you have to legitimately leave for some other reason. I WANT to play you but I CAN'T. I leave the room before the next match starts (because I don't want to have to wait for the next match to start before leaving the room), I can't help but feel like they think I'm salty.

Oh yeah, both of these situations absolutely suck, and happen at really bad times. I hate looking like the ragequitter in the first scenario, and the opponent leaving the controller kind of eliminates the purpose of even playing with them. Another peeve I have randomly when playing online is; WHEN MY EYES START TO BURN FOR NO REASON AT THE START OF A MATCH!! I can't pause, and have no quick way of telling the opponent what happened (unless I have a mic). Not only am I basically blind the whole round, the second round has me handicapped with the teary after effect. People who had this happen before know what I am talking about.
Myoro Posted September 17, 2013 Posted September 17, 2013 (edited) Another peeve I have randomly when playing online is; WHEN MY EYES START TO BURN FOR NO REASON AT THE START OF A MATCH!! Clearly a result of extreme fighting spirit. The burning is the cartoon-ish fire in the eyes. What I had meant is that the opponent was never there. the match only started because the timer for the character select screen reached 0. They prolly had to go do something urgent or they just turned the TV off and forgot they were waiting to find a match. Edited September 17, 2013 by Myoro
geckotide Posted September 17, 2013 Posted September 17, 2013 When I mash the buttons and they do not die When I'm coerced into party chat and am trying to speak and play at the same time (how 2 multitask) When people take the game super seriously, like they're fighting a life and death money match that will decide who wins EVO or w/e When everyone's flying around and I dunno what's going on Tsubaki
Teutonicknight Posted September 17, 2013 Posted September 17, 2013 Tsubaki I can kind of agree with this... Tsubaki is not very fun to play against.
