geckotide Posted September 17, 2013 Posted September 17, 2013 I can kind of agree with this... Tsubaki is not very fun to play against. I can barely remember what happens in Blazblue anymore, but she just sticks out to me. I think it was mainly because noone played her so she'd be doing all this stuff and I'd have no idea what was happening, her VO is really screechy and says weird incomprehensible things ("icecube, molotov, FAKYOU" or something) and I just don't generally like her aesthetic (the hat mainly, she's just this super serious Justicar thing then she's got this weird droopy-eye hat with flappy wings... wat.)
Teutonicknight Posted September 17, 2013 Posted September 17, 2013 She's just one of those characters who isn't really as interesting as everyone else in terms of playstyle. I mean, I don't mind playing against her, and I have respect the people who are fans of her, but she really doesn't offer much in terms of fun for either sides. Idk, maybe it's just me. Another peeve I have is when someone says my character (Makoto) is OP and needs more nerfs. LMAO, ARE THEY SERIOUS!? xD
TheBossGiga Posted September 17, 2013 Posted September 17, 2013 Winning alot then losing. I only wanna do either or, win or lose.
TeeJay Posted September 17, 2013 Posted September 17, 2013 When a lower level player you just beat avoids you like the plague. I think fighting people who are better than me is a learning experience, and when I finally beat those people I feel like I've gotten better because of it. If I hadn't spent so much time getting whooped in CT ranked matches I would probably still be at a beginners level. This is probably just a -me- thing. It's pretty much how I learn the game. I was a horrendous CT player by the way. I think it took me 6 months after starting online to really learn the game. I realize that I probably pickup slower because i have to learn what to do and not to do by experience. I can't just put things like oki and mixup to a formula and just do it.
Teutonicknight Posted September 17, 2013 Posted September 17, 2013 Winning alot then losing. I only wanna do either or, win or lose. That's a rather strange peeve, lol. Here's one- I hate it when another player online passes the controller to someone far more skilled without you knowing. I think I've seen this happen a couple times, but one time for sure, I knew someone passed it. Caught all on the mic, I was apparently playing someone's little bro, and when the big bro came in, it was a totally different ball game. (I was the ball)
Dark Ranger88 Posted September 18, 2013 Posted September 18, 2013 I have one friend that used to play a scrubby Arakune with me. We would often go online and alternate matches. We wondered if anyone had ever figured out they were playing against two different people. Also there should be a FG character that you have to use 2 people to operate, that would be fun as hell.
TheWhiteVoid Posted September 18, 2013 Posted September 18, 2013 This, but I also hate it when you get stomped by someone and you have to legitimately leave for some other reason. I WANT to play you but I CAN'T. I leave the room before the next match starts (because I don't want to have to wait for the next match to start before leaving the room), I can't help but feel like they think I'm salty. Why not just send them a message letting them know you have to go, but would like to get some matches in another time when you can stick around longer? When people take the game super seriously, like they're fighting a life and death money match that will decide who wins EVO or w/e Tsubaki I definitely agree with people taking it way to seriously sometimes, some of the anger levels I've seen generated from online matches is ridiculous. Though the rage mail can be pretty funny at times, it would be nice if people would at least attempt to use punctuation and stop misspelling lose. (so many people online are loosing to bs spam and other cheap tactics) I don't like when I've been waiting in a full lobby for a match and someone who just lost and must have revenge messages me demanding that I pass, doesn't happen that often but the few times it has have been irritating. Also uncommon but mildly annoying is running into people that demand or beg for you to let them win so they can get a trophy or achievement. I can't agree with Tsubaki being a pet-peeve, she is awesome! (I will concede that her hat is kind of dumb though)
Teutonicknight Posted September 18, 2013 Posted September 18, 2013 Also there should be a FG character that you have to use 2 people to operate, that would be fun as hell. Hehehehehe, Co-op mode Carl and Relius, that would be fun...

This right here. Waiting in a full lobby is annoying enough as it is, having someone ask you to pass your turn is just maddening.
Teutonicknight Posted September 18, 2013 Posted September 18, 2013 If there is an even number of people in the room, it should go with multiple pairs instead just one pair at a time. that is pretty damn annoying. And when someone asks me to skip my turn, I might as well leave the damn room, because I don't want to wait 30 more minutes for my turn again.
Grimsley-San Posted September 18, 2013 Author Posted September 18, 2013 Some guy in a lobby said Lambda is meant for "keepaway" and says "everybody spams v11" I facepalmed in disgust when he said v-11...

I'm glad they fixed this in CP with the "Free for all" lobbies where more than two people battle at once. Too bad they only hold four people though. :/

Probably just an uneducated schmuck trying to sound smart, haha. I don't like going up against someone who doesn't have at least 1 brain cell, that's a peeve unto itself. Too bad they only hold four people though. :/ Yeah, going to kind of suck, but since you don't have to wait as long, you can always room hop, albeit, that's going to be hard to do right when the game comes out. :/ It's going to be crowded as sh*t.

Lambda seems unstoppable when you first get into the game. My suck roommates would just refuse to play people who had Lambda on their playercard. Looking back, that is really funny. Lawl scared of Lambda.
Teutonicknight Posted September 18, 2013 Posted September 18, 2013 (edited) I think Tager scares noobs more than Lambda does once they figure out air-dashing and how she works. Tager on the other hand, would drive them nuts, lol. They would complain "too hard to kill, too much reach, invincible moves galore, grabs do too much damage, Spark Bolt is the best projectile ever (true), combos are just as good as everyone else's, can't attack him from the air, can pull you closer so he doesn't have to move" I remember my first impressions on Tager when I first fought him. I honestly thought he was the best character in the game, until I realized legit ways around his grabs, SB is not as daunting as it seems if baited, and "armor" moves get broken by stronger attacks. He was a "former" peeve of mine, but no longer so. I do still hate Stylish Tagers though, they abolish the fun. Edited September 18, 2013 by Teutonicknight
- Stasis - Posted September 18, 2013 Posted September 18, 2013 I hate when really good players (even some pros) kick me out the room or leave my lobby when they kick my ass. Like, I've been playing BBCSEX onlinee for about 8 months now and I go months without fighting certain characters. Liquid man(I'm calling him that) is my most feared opponent. I know I lack experience and I'm about to get my ass kicked. My buddy who knows the match ups is normally in the room with me so he tells me how to punish whatever moves the player is abusing. I take my lost and prepare for the next battle, now I have some of your moves down, now I can fight! But, sadly.. I'm not a worthy enough opponent. I get kicked and it's back to fighting people lower than me. >_> getting good in BB is so hard. I don't want to be average forever!! >_<
Kujikawa Posted September 18, 2013 Posted September 18, 2013 If your good/pro and your fighting someone that isn't better then you and you can easily beat, it can get very boring, so they may end up kicking you. If someone quite worse then me joins my room, I tend to play other characters then my main after 2-3 games, however, some people think this is really disrespectful. What would you guys say? If someone generally better then you doesn't play their main against you, do you take this a disrespect?

Would you be upset if you were getting destroyed by someone and they said, "Tch...This is boring. Here, fight my 10-year-old brother. You'll give him more of a challege." Some people are in this for the challenge. They want to fight the best people they possibly can, and if you're not going all out, they feel cheated because they are not fighting the real you, just some hollow version.
geckotide Posted September 18, 2013 Posted September 18, 2013 I don't think there's anything at all wrong with people just wanting to play for fun, to be honest, and losing over and over isn't really fun. I mean, I'm pretty sure everyone started out as a Scumbag Casual (and still are in my case.)
Nemesis Posted September 18, 2013 Posted September 18, 2013 (edited) What would you guys say? If someone generally better then you doesn't play their main against you, do you take this a disrespect? respect is earned - not freely given I do the same thing for similar reasons -- that and fighting someone who would get bodied easily by my Mu while they might want to fight her present ME with no entertainment (which is part of the reason I play -- " for myself " ) and quite probably no possibility for a skill up -- while If I choose one of my many subs (x5 counts as many right?) they could pose as a threat -- which is really what I am looking for most of the time... and a threat can create/force me to skill up and increase my mastery with the character. I dont play bb to keep in touch with other peoples feelings -- although I am aware of them -- thats not whats taken me as far as Ive come. Mastering New subs has taken me farther than I would have if just "respected" everyone who ever wanted to fight my main. ---In short if you wana fight my main and Im not already in that mood, you gotta earn it/ put me in that mood @ Stasis -- be aware of Expert Shield lobbies, if you are weak you are liable to get kicked -- at least by me that is Edited September 18, 2013 by Nemesis
Myoro Posted September 18, 2013 Posted September 18, 2013 What do you all think about people who reset their PSR to "0" periodically? Personally if, I've noticed someone's done it once, I give benefit of the doubt. If someone is doing it repetitively I kinda get peeved.

I don't know why people would do that, noob/newb hunters disgust me.

Personally if, I've noticed someone's done it once, I give benefit of the doubt. If someone is doing it repetitively I kinda get peeved. There's this P4U player (maybe he plays BB too, I dunno) that goes by Spectrasonic. Every week or something, this guy always resets his W/L ratio, and keeps it 100%. However, all he does is search out new/weak players, and in the event that he plays someone good or he loses, he quits the match really fast. Dunno why people reset records though, it's not like it really matters. If you never play ranked, you'll always have 0 PSR to begin with lol.
Teutonicknight Posted September 18, 2013 Posted September 18, 2013 That falls into the category of people taking the game way to seriously, IE in it to win it, while having little to no fun doing so, and are usually jerks. That's a peeve of mine as well.
Raziul Posted September 18, 2013 Posted September 18, 2013 I hate when I spend all my luck for the month on a mighty come back round and now know that the universe will punish my every mistake with impunity.
