My pet peeve is any internet or fighting game lingo being used during matches or after matches. Especially these kids using 'salt' nowadays when I used to hear that shit growing up in the 90's..lol

Uh, if they are mashing out of your combos, that's your fault. A combo is a combo, and they can't get out until it's over unless you screw up.

Glad you said it cos I was just about to. A true combo can't be blocked after the first hit. The attacker can mess up timing and eat a reversal or whatever.

That feeling when you play endlessly, but you never learn anything. That's FG's in general for me. I just can't seem to learn anything substantial no matter how much I play.

Accidently mashing something stupid like superjump and looking like a flailing idiot.

And finally, when players way better than me use me as a glorfied training dummy. And then their combo ends and I TRY to do something to get out but fuck up and they CH me into a combo AGAIN. At that point I might as well put the controller down.

That glorified dummy part...I agree with. I'm fighting to learn Nu- which is tough but I'm getting the hang of her. I'd rather fight someone I can at least put up a fight against than someone who will most likely obliterate me.

You know what I can't stand? Obvious trolls with a three rounds room.

People that I get a win streak on, but then manage to scrape off 1 win and leave.

Mine is the opposite of this, on ranked when your getting your ass kicked by the same guy and you finally get a win. Your character is doing their winning animation and then suddenly the guy disconnects. It's like poeple forget their playing a fighting game, ur going to lose sooner or later.

People who skip intros when it's clear the game still needs a moment or two to stabilize.

Fuck those people, there is a special circle of hell for you.

When I first started playing, I had no idea that letting the intro play would give the game time to stabilize. I thought, "Hey, let's skip the intro to fucking get on with laggy match."

I never understood until like about a month ago, after playing these games for so long. I don't blame people for doing things like that.

It's fine if you're new to the game and if they do, I would usually send a friendly message like "oh hey, try not to skip the intros, it helps with any lag issues", but when you have 2,000+ games and you're still skipping, you're asking for beatings.

+1,000 to the intro skipping thing, so annoying. Besides, the intro are so entertaining, no need to skip them. I'd like to add to the pet peeves people in player/lobby matches who wait for you to select your character, then counterpick. It's one thing if your main just so happens to be a counterpick, it's another if I can go to your D-code (which I usually do if the person has a character who is a good counterpick and fails miserably) and tell that the character is not your main or even your sub. It just comes across as desperate and pathetic.

Maybe the first, or second, or tenth time... but they get old quick.

I sometimes do something a little like this; I wait for people to pick, then if they pick their main, I'll pick mine, but if they're going to screw around with their third string sub, then I'm going to pick someone I don't know as well either.

Yeah, this right here. If its your main/sub that's fine, but other than that...comes off as douchey

The Azrael/Kokonoe intro will NEVER get old.

And Im fine with people counterpicking, it just means I can practice that matchup if they know how to play, and if they don't, I guess it just means I won't have as tough a time.

Good players not being humble about their skill. I can acknowledge that they are good but they are unpleasant to be around so I just tend to avoid playing with them. I'd rather not improve at all than associate myself with those kinds of people.

Recently I've developed a deep seated grudge against grabby people online. Ether it's the game speed, the online lag, or me just being bad, but I can't tech them for crap now. (wasn't a problem in Extend)

Like, I'm blocking their Jin's auto pilot mix-up perfectly, they cross-up j.2C->land->5B->delay. I yell aloud "I CAN SEE YOUR GRAB COMING JIN!" I dynamically hold my controller up to the sky and hover my thumb over B+C. They grab. It goes through. 3000 damage.

On the plus side, my Haku-men friend I play IRL (while I'm wide awake no less!) can't grab without me immediately teching. I attribute this to this game's "DBZ style 100X gravity training-esque" online experience.

My pet peeve for BBCP so far is doing well one day, and then the next day I get obliterated. Another pet peeve is not sticking to one character. I try to stick to one and yet I find myself trying to play two other characters. Then I make other people unpleasant when I get frustrated. If anything, I want to force myself to stick to one character and learn. ._.

I have a lot of pet peeves...

P4A:

-Idiots mashing 5A from FULLSCREEN.

-Yus being stale with mixup. Overusing DP, slide special, and overhead special. Too easy to read and punish even with lag(unless it is 1-0 bars connection).

-Elizabeths thinking 5C/5D, DP, and Ziodyne will win them matches everytime. Expect Persona Breaks otherwise there people...

-Abusing only auto-dial A combos, pressure, and oki/vortex. No effort for reward.

-Teddies that can't do basic and advanced combos...

-Kanjis only using DP and J214A/B. Easy to wait and bait.

-Naotos getting punished for over relying on gun stance on raw(no traps, no 5D). Also raw machine gun or shotgun supers. Too easy to read.

-Mitsurus trying to do auto-combo from tip, Mabufudyne's hitbox, and overusing DP.

-Labrys players only relying on DP and AOA.

-Yosukes trying raw tentafoo, badly spaced shuriken special, and not moving away to prevent a raw garudyne from being punished.

-Akihikos doing obvious killrushes, 5C, and JC.

-Yukiko's 5A being 10 frame start up.

-Raw non-wakeup DP/reversal. Expect it blocked.

BB:

-Hazamas that can't play like men. Upback all day for days.

-Stylish mode for anyone.

-Mugen + OD...

-Unlimited Mu

-Noel's VAs

-1 frame start up, ID, and guardpoint.

General:

-Chicken Blocking

-Wasting burst on 1 hit.

Can't remember some others but these are clear ones for me.

I agree. If someone is acting like an arrogant ass, I just avoid playing them regardless of skill. I understand this could be their only outlet in life and I'm not going to change their attitude with a little conversation, so I find ignoring them to be the best option. I just "gg" and go somewhere else. I'd do the same in a real arcade.

As for mechanic pet peeves; being hit out of wake up barrier, being hit when trying to CA, and Jin grabs..I know they're coming, but my tech still does nothing. I'm not sure if I attribute these all to lag (I don't think it helps) all of the time, but sometime I feel it definitely influences the outcome.

...I so agree with this. Last night was such a crappy session for me. Every time I try to barrier, it doesn't come out. My character stands like an idiot. I go to CA, a random 6B comes out. I go to DP, a random 6C comes out or my character does nothing. Its either my D pad or the timings have gotten stricter in this game.
