mAc Chaos Posted January 23, 2014 Posted January 23, 2014 lol I've never even heard of that. It is annoying when they skip through all the animations without letting load though.
Errol Posted January 23, 2014 Posted January 23, 2014 This may be an odd one, but.. - People who skip your win animation as fast as possible after you win a round, but let theirs play out entirely if they win one. Out of courtesy, I never skip others, so it kind of irks me when they don't extend the same. Then again, I have to remind myself, etiquette online is near non-existent. hey I only let that astral play out because I had to go to the bathroom.. I only did the astral because I had to go to the bathroom... I go to the bathroom a lot
Codename Exia Posted January 23, 2014 Posted January 23, 2014 The only thing that should irk anyone playing online: wi-fi.
Monarch Posted January 23, 2014 Posted January 23, 2014 hey I only let that astral play out because I had to go to the bathroom.. I only did the astral because I had to go to the bathroom... I go to the bathroom a lot You just reminded me. I also hate it when a person goes AFK in the middle of a round, then comes back with 5 seconds on the timer and punches you. They then proceed to run away and secure victory. Doesn't matter that much since I'll body them out of anger the next round, but nonetheless still annoying. Come to think of it.. I'm not the only one who waits for my opponent to come back, right?

No I wait for my opponent too. I just whack them once or twice if we're even on health and then back off so what you mentioned doesn't happen.
Myoro Posted January 23, 2014 Posted January 23, 2014 I don't touch their health, I believe in the good in people, as foolish as that may be. But I am at times rewarded for that belief by people who will alert me to them being back with a backdash or something. If they go AFK you could just go fullscreen in most cases to be immune from that 5 seconds left jab... unless you're playing a projectile user. Anyway, if they have to rely on shady tactics like that there's no way they'll take the other two rounds.
BlackYakuzu94 Posted January 23, 2014 Posted January 23, 2014 Sadly that happens a lot, playing this game is not wise when you live with parents. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Soviet Bear Posted January 23, 2014 Posted January 23, 2014 When people go AFK on me, I also make a note of how much Magatama I had with Hakumen, so I keep spending it to stay on that value until they return. Would feel like cheating if we continued and I was on 8 instead of 2 magatama.
Grimsley-San Posted January 23, 2014 Author Posted January 23, 2014 People who lose with their two crappy characters, only to pick Kokonoe, get blown up because they don't know how to use her and then ragequit. RQer logic *Get bodied with their best character* *Pick the most broken character in the game, get bodied again, pull the internet*
mAceOfHearts Posted January 23, 2014 Posted January 23, 2014 On the subject of someone going AFK: 5A, back off, wait for them to return.
mAc Chaos Posted January 23, 2014 Posted January 23, 2014 I don't mind doing that once or twice, but if they do it all the time then forget it. I didn't get online to watch the timer count down. This isn't New Years.
susano Posted January 23, 2014 Posted January 23, 2014 RQer logic *Get bodied with their best character* *Pick the most broken character in the game, get bodied again, pull the internet* Basically. :/ With the whole leaving thing, sometimes I get nagged in the middle of playing matches. Grandmother needs something in the fridge, can't move things on her own, etc. I do try and play at night where I don't get nagged as much but sometimes I need a game fix early.

Only if it's on player match. If it's on ranked, then it's a free win and why are you going AFK on ranked?
heavymetalmixer Posted January 23, 2014 Posted January 23, 2014 Not learning anything at all after months of getting my ass kicked.
mAceOfHearts Posted January 23, 2014 Posted January 23, 2014 Only if it's on player match. If it's on ranked, then it's a free win and why are you going AFK on ranked? Better than disconnecting because ´´something came up``.
Myoro Posted January 23, 2014 Posted January 23, 2014 Months you say? It's been a couple years and I'm finally winning some matches legitly, (against the current BB climate no less.) If a couple months have you down, you gotta amp up the enthusiasm. Anyway, you can only learn so much facing your foes repetitively. If you want to get better, take what happened in that last match where got you beaten into training mode until you can dissect the situations that got you damaged in, then practice solutions you come up with. After a while of doing this, you'll notice patterns in your opponent's gameplay, and you can apply your various solutions to counter them with excellent precision. Then you will start conquering your foes. After doing this again and again you gain true experience.
ReynTime180 Posted January 23, 2014 Posted January 23, 2014 Better than disconnecting because ´´something came up``. I can't even remember that.
ReynTime180 Posted January 23, 2014 Posted January 23, 2014 It probably wasn't an RQ though, what it probably was was my power probably died because of a blown fuse
mAceOfHearts Posted January 23, 2014 Posted January 23, 2014 I can't even remember that. I'd be very surprised if you could, since I never told you. It happened on Ranked Match. Some guy disconnected as soon as the first round began because he wanted to answer his phone.

Dark Ranger88 Posted January 24, 2014 Posted January 24, 2014 Only if it's on player match. If it's on ranked, then it's a free win and why are you going AFK on ranked? One time in college my idiot friends started a huge grease fire in the kitchen. I had to drop the controller to help put out the flames. It was pretty scary.

As the post above me gives an excellent example, shit happens. I try to be as courteous as I can about it, therefore I at least hope my opponent would give me a warning that their back.

It was pretty scary. I guess that's a valid reason. But at the point where your house might burn down, I think the last thing on your mind should be losing a fight on a video game
Airk Posted January 24, 2014 Posted January 24, 2014 I guess that's a valid reason. But at the point where your house might burn down, I think the last thing on your mind should be losing a fight on a video game Yeah, but the point is that the opponent doesn't know that, so they're probably sitting there going "Big jerk! WTF does he think he's doing, going AFK right as the match starts?"
Dark Ranger88 Posted January 24, 2014 Posted January 24, 2014 (edited) I guess that's a valid reason. But at the point where your house might burn down, I think the last thing on your mind should be losing a fight on a video game I'm a scaredy little bitch. As soon as I realized there was a fire I stopped caring about the game. You should have heard the girly yelps I let out lol. And don't worry it wasn't THAT big of a fire. It just melted off all of the knobs on the stove. Also I wasn't mad at the guy beating me to a pulp, it's understandable on a ranked match. I just wish I had put out the fire in time to burst out of his last combo and run it all the way back. Would have been hype as fuck. Edit: I just came up with a great idea. Record a video of yourself beating someone on netplay while simultaneously completing another task. I once beat this Hakumen player while holding a telephone conversation with my mom. My pyro friends thought that was pretty cool. Edit 2: Another pet-peeve of mine is when someone loses to you then says that it doesn't count because you're not playing the game right or being cheap (then they kick you/leave). I USE MAKOTO!!! How is that cheap??? Edited January 24, 2014 by Dark Ranger88
