Why are double downs so damn rare? I've seen two players with no health left trade hits on two distortions and one person traded hits faster than the other or something and took the round. What?

Agreed. I don't mind the bodying but when moves refuse to come out...that gets my blood boiling.

When other Arakune players don't use 236B at the start of rounds in mirror matches.  This should be more widely known as common courtesy in these mirror matches, because I still think it's hilarious.

 

But seriously, playing ranked matches leads to a bunch of pet peeves.  I'm always annoyed when one character is played too often in fighting games.  When SFIV first came out it was KenKenKenKenKenKenKen, and I just stopped playing random people online because I wasn't learning anything through those matches.  In this game I feel like it's TerumiTerumiTerumiTerumiTerumiTerumi.  And while stepping into player matches or the online lobby helps me avoid Terumi, I see more Azrael's outside of ranked than anything else.  I guess it's more annoying in this game because there's so much variety in the cast, and it's kind of a bummer to see people go for the more common characters.  I'm not mad because I lose often to these characters, it's just annoying to only see the same characters when I view online as more of a tool for learning matchups that I otherwise wouldn't get practice on.

I agree. Honestly, I don't get why Terumi's character select image gets him so many noobs that think "man this guy is cool". Just look at his arms people! They make him look deformed, these tiny stick arms and somewhat... flamboyant way of wearing a shirt. Azrael is... eh, I could care less since so many people actually play him differently. Still, this isn't a 2 character cast people, but some effort into learning a character you cant mash buttons to do combos xP xD (no offense)

I was actually gonna add that in, but that's not really affected by online play. I could be playing the game at .01FPS and Kagura's... lump of muscles will still look weird.

Also, screw laggy stages, ruining those playable 1 bar connections if they were on a lag friendly stage.

Also, I really, REALLY hate how every character I have a natural affinity for using - Ragna, Terumi, Azrael, etc. - are apparantly super common characters that everyone uses.

I mean, it's not like Azrael's a terribly easy character to use, what with him having links and all.

Maybe you just need to accept that your tastes are pedestrian and you ARE the lowest common denominator.

 

Or maybe you just have crappy taste in characters.  Who knows.

 

Let's be honest though "having links" in BB isn't really that big a deal.  Input buffer is your friend.

I hate how I think Links are pretty much the easiest thing in the world at this point, but his goddamn rekka is still a pain in the butt to pull off at times.

 

Oh, yeah, I hate doing the rekka online I guess. Random 6Cs everywhere.

my taste is worse apparently, I main Jin and Terumi.

I've gotten shit for using Jin before, not my fault he became godlike in CP, been using him since Extend.

That and i've had some kokonoes get mad at me for using Jin, I simply walk away from them at that point.

If you only play Netplay, the Links aren't really a problem. If you constantly switch between offline and online play, it becomes pretty stressful rather quickly.

Personally, I love it when this happens. You wouldn't expect it, but once I see it happen and it connects, I'm just like, "Well, ok! Thanks for the easy confirm!" Near corner? Luna 236C for free damage. I assume it's lag or input delay that causes them to do strange things like that.
