OmnixTSC Posted March 31, 2014 Posted March 31, 2014 I usually pick a character I'm not good with against beginners. I only do this if I'm asked to do so by the person who's inexperienced or if we're just screwing around. snip The first thing I wanted to say is that...people are silly. Some people don't need a reason to make another account. They just do so because they want to have an alt that's ranked high or they just want to troll people. It's annoying at times, but you can't really fault them for doing something in the game that they obviously have access to. When most players tell you they aren't a pro, they probably mean it. Ranking in an online environment that's as unstable as BBCP's doesn't provide an accurate indicator for skill level (look at the color/square system we have, which is pretty funny btw). It's more or less just, "Person A played X amount of games and eventually got to Rank L." (hell i spent about 2 1/2 hours in a full room of 40+ players getting face rolled, but it was fun and cool to watch the others play against each other with their immense amount of skill, i even started taking notes) This is what you want to do whenever you're focusing on improving or getting a better understanding of the game. You're on the right track.

D.R.F. Posted March 31, 2014 Posted March 31, 2014 Incoming text wall My absolute biggest Pet Peeve right now is the fact that 95% of people who are Pro/SSSS-Rank/has-over-9000-player-match players flooding into the lobby's aimed at beginners...its bad enough that i avoid online play at all cost until i feel that i am ready to go online and get some experience only because 99% of thoes i fight are almost always more skilled than the average player. when i do make my own room (targeted at newbies) it always either end with a full room of pro players(excluding me so i'm busy getting face rolled), or a full room with one or two pros taking turns completely face rolling everyone else..thats not fun at all, kicking them doesn't really work since another equally skilled player will take their place....or they will keep coming back no mater how many times i kick them. And when i email them about why they are there since my room name said beginner/intermediate only 99.9% of the responses are either "Oh sorry i don't read room names" or "but i'm not pro" the other .1% are the ones who say "So?" or "this is the nature of online play...get over it" and wonder why there's no one to play with online, especially when it comes to fresh faces. My Next one is about these highly skilled players(or highly skilled a** hats) who constantly REMAKE their accounts to get out of being avoided by lower skill/newbie players, just so they can have more people to play against, there is nothing i hate more than joining a room thinking "wow i hope the match dosen't end in 10sec this time since this isnt an A+rank/lvl78 players here) i check their gamer tag it says.....20 matches....ok cool.....F-rank/level11...okay..*joins room, gets face rolled* checks gamer tag again......20 matches..19Wins..1Lose.... ....*proceeds to block player while watching other poor unsuspecting newbies get face rolled by these people left and right....* I Don't understand..why do people do this? why is it so hard to play like an honest player? this is why i avoid net play its rare that i every find people to play against that wont 20 hit string combo me every time.and what makes it worse is that it seems like people tend to also judge by your win lose ratio since i tend to notice that a lot of people love playing against those they know for sure they can probably win against since the win/lose gap is so large..some even have the nerve to add me to friends list after winning over 10 games against me knowing i didn't have a chance i would expect them to at least give me some tips but no its *add to FL,log off for a while, logs back on,attempts to get me to join in a player match with them immediately* , i really haven't improved at these games too much since getting face rolled only teaches me block the whole match. Usually i don't mind losing because well....i already see it coming i just play to learn how to deal with my opponent's attacks, but when i want to actually fight someone around my skill level its impossible even if when i make a room i try to be as specific as possible when it comes to battle conditions..nothing works.Even the Beginner Lobby is flooded with insanely high skilled players in CP........so now i'm back again spending 90% of my time practicing on a still target in training mode...or vs mode. (hell i spent about 2 1/2 hours in a full room of 40+ players getting face rolled, but it was fun and cool to watch the others play against each other with their immense amount of skill, i even started taking notes) End pet peeve Rant Git gewd ;D jk lol I tried that once so I apologize ahah Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I747 using Tapatalk
NecroTheReaper Posted March 31, 2014 Posted March 31, 2014 Well there's only a few stages that don't contribute to lag, like 3 or 4 of em. Music doesn't matter, but I don't think people like going through the stage selection to find that one stage that may or may not screw with lag.
Owner Posted April 1, 2014 Posted April 1, 2014 People who just leave without saying 'GGs' or using the thumb up sign in arcade lobbies And people who have played over 1000 matches and still don't know what a lagfree stage is herp random stage ftw derp
Kriegdrache Posted April 1, 2014 Posted April 1, 2014 My pet peeve is when you play online and your opponent keeps selecting the same stage and music every single time can we please get some variety Mr. Room creater No, you'll take Lessions and Black Aggression and you'll like it.
Dawn of Musou Posted April 2, 2014 Posted April 2, 2014 No, you'll take Lessions and Black Aggression and you'll like it. ^This guy knows. If our connection is 2 or below, I'm most likely picking Lessons. As for songs, it depends on my mood or the matchup(like I will always put UHDII for Ragna vs Jin, IC2 for Jin vs Noel, Six Heroes if I'm using Terumi, or Random if I'm lazy), but I usually pick Sector 7 or Black Aggression cause they're short, catchy, pumps me up and actually improves my play sometimes.

ReynTime180 Posted April 2, 2014 Posted April 2, 2014 Its possible to train a stage? Only true fighting game pros know that secret
mAc Chaos Posted April 2, 2014 Posted April 2, 2014 Its possible to train a stage?it is the only way to achieve the legendary stage powerup
mAceOfHearts Posted April 3, 2014 Posted April 3, 2014 If you play on Lessons 10.000 times, you unlock Jubei.

Music doesn't matter, but I don't think people like going through the stage selection to find that one stage that may or may not screw with lag. For real though, does the stage selection honestly make any detectable difference in input/display lag? I heard folks talk about this with CS and I never, ever, ever noticed a difference with anyone I played with. It sounds like one of those internet urban legends, to be honest.

In BBCP it's not that bad, sealed space and snow town aren't too great for the connection, and if you're lagging REALLY bad, it's probably more than the stage that's laggy. It all depends on how much background elements the game has to load.
Airk Posted April 4, 2014 Posted April 4, 2014 My new pet peeve playing online is PSN! WTF do you mean you still don't have the ability for me to send messages from my PC instead of having to type with a fightstick? :P (Yeah, fine, I could hook up a keyboard to the PS3, brilliant. Bring me the eyeroll smiley.)
Dazardz Posted April 4, 2014 Posted April 4, 2014 People who just leave without saying 'GGs' or using the thumb up sign in arcade lobbies And people who have played over 1000 matches and still don't know what a lagfree stage is herp random stage ftw derp I was one of those against you. Man I was salty forgive me Your too good!

It seems to vary from person to person but I've definitely noticed it lagging more on more complex stages.
NecroTheReaper Posted April 4, 2014 Posted April 4, 2014 After a few rounds with someone I played vita Ex with, yeah, its noticeable. Not for each amd every player, no, but I had a 2 bar connection and it was like watching an in progress Tim Burton film. He kept putting it on random though, which wasnt helping either.
ReynTime180 Posted April 4, 2014 Posted April 4, 2014 Might be a pet peeve, might be something I enjoy. When people mash out everything they have, and then complain when it gets punished.

mAceOfHearts Posted April 5, 2014 Posted April 5, 2014 ´´Wha-YOU DODGED!? You're not allowed to do that! You're supposed to get hit by that, you cheater!`` I would pay money to hear someone complain about that.
susano Posted April 11, 2014 Posted April 11, 2014 Terumi's 6C and Terumi scumbags spamming it full screen. Why, JUST WHY.
Myoro Posted April 11, 2014 Posted April 11, 2014 Man, the peeves thread is still going strong, I guess salt is eternal. Well might as well add to it. DPs that aren't punishable when blocked in midair.
Jotamide Posted April 13, 2014 Posted April 13, 2014 Lag Lag Lag Even if I'm getting bodied, dropping a combo because of lag is the worst feeling possible.
