Arcus Diabolus Posted May 11, 2014 Posted May 11, 2014 I think the U.Hazama A.I. used it as a DP back in BBCS.
Monarch Posted May 12, 2014 Posted May 12, 2014 I didn't think this would bother me now that I'm at a higher level now compared to when I started, but Noel is kind of stupid. Feels like I'm walking on eggshells the entire match, one wrong move and I get hit with 3-4K plus corner carry. Her drives are a pain to punish, you think they'd be easier to punish considering if this was any other character just throwing out drive attacks they'd get handed. And that's the way it should be, being encouraged to mash isn't.. good?
Poultrygeist Posted May 12, 2014 Posted May 12, 2014 I think you're supposed to learn what drive moves do what for yourself because some of them are very unsafe and are scarier looking than anything else.
Airk Posted May 12, 2014 Posted May 12, 2014 I think you're supposed to learn what drive moves do what for yourself because some of them are very unsafe and are scarier looking than anything else. And players who actually know how to play Noel won't do them, so this is mostly wasted effort, unless you think you can DP her 24 frame low on reaction or something. :P
Arcus Diabolus Posted May 12, 2014 Posted May 12, 2014 One could argue her long range game is much weaker, considering Optic Barrel only has two ranges now and they don't knock down on hit. Really just a tiny poke to remind your opponent to block at certain ranges. And Airk, I only just noticed you are from Massachusetts as well.

Monarch Posted May 12, 2014 Posted May 12, 2014 Oh, look, I mashed DP and won. Thank you Mori, for giving me a functional DP. *COUGH* CS Tsubaki *COUGH*
NecroTheReaper Posted May 12, 2014 Posted May 12, 2014 Erg, all you Tsubaki players badmouthin her DP have made me feel like I should never respect it and I end up eating it every time xP xD
D.R.F. Posted May 12, 2014 Posted May 12, 2014 Well its good NOW. Im pretty glad i wasnt around during the days that it was a projectile too. Must have been hell on earth
abadlime Posted May 12, 2014 Posted May 12, 2014 Being a projectile wasn't a problem for the most part. As far as i was concerned, it was being air grabbed out of it.
Errol Posted May 12, 2014 Posted May 12, 2014 i don't mind the mostly hard call outs, using projectile invuln moves or air grab. those are mostly not really "OS"s, and lots and lots of reversals are vulnerable to that kind of thing. no, the worst part imo was the invuln fading too quickly. ragna 5b pretty much always traded in ragna's favor, with it doing more dmg and keeping tsubaki in the corner. but even still it was ok. tsubaki's problems were much much more in other areas - which is why she is still a quite bad character in CP.
NecroTheReaper Posted May 12, 2014 Posted May 12, 2014 Despite not having a clue how to play against Tsubaki, seems like her issue is just bring denied at every turn via DPs and bullshit CP barrier pushback. Ark needs to buff the bottoms, I want fair games that people don't rage at.
D.R.F. Posted May 12, 2014 Posted May 12, 2014 Ha c'mon now baby this is reality, people are always gonna find things to bitch about. But yea trying to play tsubaki for me is like playing ragna without so many tools that make him good. My friend pointed this out to me and its just so painful to play her overall. Im not all that good with tsubaki though, so to each his own
abadlime Posted May 12, 2014 Posted May 12, 2014 I didnt really mind the the invul disappearing right away as opposed to the airgrabs because at least after we tech, i can somehow get back to neutral and go from there. Being airgrabbed is bad because on my wake up, i can pretend i can block, or I attempt another DP which would probably be airgrabbed…because i'm bad. Honestly, tsubaki is fine this time around, even if i felt i had an easier time doing stuff with EX Tsubaki.
Angry Guy of DE Posted May 12, 2014 Posted May 12, 2014 Land Makoto's Parry against Ragna's spamming 5B, only for his 5C to hit you because the catch hitbox sucks. Yup...this great.
Myoro Posted May 12, 2014 Posted May 12, 2014 Land Makoto's Parry against Ragna's spamming 5B, only for his 5C to hit you because the catch hitbox sucks. Yup...this great. When will you learn to stop expecting good things from Makoto and just embrace the darkness in your soul? (I pose this question often to my friend who mains Makoto, and he hesitates a little more each time. I can see he's dying on the inside.)

(I pose this question often to my friend who mains Makoto, and he hesitates a little more each time. I can see he's dying on the inside.) Because I'm old enough to remember that in a different series, when Makoto parries an attack you actually punish them. ... But yeah I died a little on the inside.
Zeromus_X Posted May 12, 2014 Posted May 12, 2014 Since it just happened and it's a really minor annoyance rather than a legit complaint, amazingly good players who've been at it for months but never bothered to touch Ranked, who then decide they're going to grind them points. Cue 40 effortless victories against new players. It's fine to do it, getting to that high level will mean another way to connect to good players waiting for matches, but being another stepping stone on their climb to the top is less than enjoyable. :< To be fair, before the US version came out, ranked match was pretty much a desolate wasteland and you were lucky to find more than two people with a decent connection on at any given time. As for the topic, it might be better to ask what isn't a pet peeve online haha. Probably the most annoying for me is when people one-and-done or two-and-done you for no explicable reason; even when the match is pretty even or the connection is fine. Granted, real life shit happens and sometimes you just gotta go for whatever reason. It's another thing entirely if they're clearly trolling you or playing like a shithead and then don't let you get the runback. But I'm just stubborn like that lol. Netplay is like some kind of drug addiction. I know how bad it is but I keep coming back for more.

But yeah I died a little on the inside. Are you secretly implying that we should have Mori replace BB Makoto with 3S Makoto? Also a recent peeve of mine is going for a scumbag astral and getting a normal instead cause of input lag. Trying to initiate Relius' sexnasium and getting 214D instead, Ignis pls. I feel like it's karma though, idk.
Angry Guy of DE Posted May 12, 2014 Posted May 12, 2014 Are you secretly implying that we should have Mori replace BB Makoto with 3S Makoto? Moreover implying to have a parry that works as intended mostly... Also anytime you are about to win and somehow the game stutters and you're inputs get eaten, but then the game goes back to normal when they throw you...Haku-Lag.

Netplay is like some kind of drug addiction. I know how bad it is but I keep coming back for more. I'll leave after one go with someone usually because of specific characters. If you pick Kokonoe, I'll leave first chance I get because I despise her. I usually walk out after one match against Mu-12 and Platinum players too. Mu-12 is the most one sided and boring match up to me. I hate zoners in general because it's frustrating to have to chase your dumb ass every where, but with her it's just a whole 'nother level. And well, Platinum is my most hated BB character of all time for multiple reasons already, it doesn't help that most of them will do nothing but run away and item spam until they get a specific item. Then they stand there and spam it, and repeat the process again. I avoid Tager players in general now too. Used to be a fun character to face in Extend, but all the stupid CP Tager gimmicks prevents the MU from ever being anything you can take seriously. Oh Tager has you magnetized? Have fun dying to untechable invincible command grabs in a few seconds. Purple grabs at the end of combos with less time to tech than most green grabs? Ok! What, the only way to win is to do nothing but max range pokes? Lame.
Zeromus_X Posted May 12, 2014 Posted May 12, 2014 ^I can understand not wanting to play against Kokopuffs, but how will you learn the MU against Mu (lol) if you never want to play against her? Granted, Mu can be annoying to fight against, because most characters have to play by her pace, but losing to wild Hakumens that just go crazy in neutral isn't the most fun way to lose either. On the reverse, I can play patiently and try to have a perfect neutral but then lose because a Hakumen busts out the UNIT COOKIE DOUGH, which never feels good. I totally agree on Platinum though. Something about that character is just annoying to fight against, but it could just be that most Plats play like nutcases. Same with Tager. When I lose to Tager I never think "man this Tager was so solid, I got outplayed", it's usually "man I can't believe I fucked up in neutral once, then fell for some stupid gimmick, and lost".
Starlight777 Posted May 12, 2014 Posted May 12, 2014 On the reverse, I can play patiently and try to have a perfect neutral but then lose because a Hakumen busts out the UNIT COOKIE DOUGH, which never feels good. I lost to Hakumen that way more than once. I get a large life lead and take him down to the last 1-2k of his health and screw myself over one of the following ways. I get air grabbed or CH and then BAM! "UNIT COOKIE DOUGH!" I proceed to scream "BULLSHIT!" at the top of my lungs for the next few minutes after seeing myself die in a mere instant because I made one mistake.
