Argent Zero Posted August 13, 2014 Posted August 13, 2014 I never understood why people just put down the controller mid match. It almost feels like they're trying to spite you by ruining the match. In my case, they put down the controller because they thought they were going to lose once my Arakune combo started, but it wasn't quite enough to finish them. So I get a free shot at the end if they gave up
Verimeloni Posted August 13, 2014 Posted August 13, 2014 I guess fighting people who obviously haven't played the game long enough to give you a challenge. I just played 2 ft5 sets with 2 different people and bodied both of them, I couldn't even practice any of my harder combos because of slight lags here and there. If I would've started holding back I would have looked like an asshole so all I could do was, well, win. Bear we should play again sometime, I need my yearly Haku-MU dosage.
mAc Chaos Posted August 13, 2014 Posted August 13, 2014 Pfft, I'll raise you to 20. 20 is like a short nap, i've lost track of sets where i just lost the entire night. i think the last one was 80 games but i never gave up on any matches because you always have a chance to come back and even if you lose you can use it to figure out what to do better in the next match even if theyre going to hit you with the game winning combo you never know if theyre going to drop it
TeeJay Posted August 13, 2014 Posted August 13, 2014 ^Overdrive combo drop Astral FTW I think anything over 25 requires mad respect from the opponent or them having an insatiable ego. Perhaps, just a fun loving, patient person too.
mAc Chaos Posted August 13, 2014 Posted August 13, 2014 you mean for them to keep playing someone theyre beating?
TeeJay Posted August 13, 2014 Posted August 13, 2014 Yeah, especially in a lobby. i've had people that I go up 20 on, but I'll use subs and other things too which leads to me letting one slip.
mAc Chaos Posted August 13, 2014 Posted August 13, 2014 > lobbies oh i meant a player room where you invite your friend
TeeJay Posted August 13, 2014 Posted August 13, 2014 ^^I guess I meant both (either player or lobby). Well, going up or down 80 has still never happened to me in a player match. That's some intense proactive effort to not play outside of yourself or lethargic. i've been up or down about 20 a few times. I guess those "top-class" players go extra hard in the player rooms.
StylisH Posted August 13, 2014 Posted August 13, 2014 Going 80 matches in the hole is a good excuse to start drinking
Verimeloni Posted August 13, 2014 Posted August 13, 2014 Going 80 matches in the hole is a good excuse to start drinking In lobby that is
StylisH Posted August 13, 2014 Posted August 13, 2014 If everyone else drinks even better. Might improve the winning percentage.
BloodWolF Posted August 13, 2014 Posted August 13, 2014 I'm usually drinking around round 1...but not to any excessive extent. I just enjoy a drink and some BB when I finally get home from work.
Soviet Bear Posted August 13, 2014 Posted August 13, 2014 Adding "Pink players who ragequit so they don't lose their shiny color" to pet peeves.
AvatarofWhat Posted August 13, 2014 Posted August 13, 2014 So I'm accidentally learning more about this backwards 5C nonsense. It's getting great. Fun fact: If you manage to somehow tag your opponent with the little sliver of hitbox on the back of 5C after a bugged backwards 5C, you can input 6B (6 being toward the opponent, and you input that because you know you won't get a combo so you might as well just go for broke) and you'll get 4B. I don't... what? Interesting, I find it when that happens I generally autopilot into 2C and get an easy combo out of it. 20 is like a short nap, i've lost track of sets where i just lost the entire night. i think the last one was 80 games but i never gave up on any matches because you always have a chance to come back and even if you lose you can use it to figure out what to do better in the next match even if theyre going to hit you with the game winning combo you never know if theyre going to drop it I dont think I could keep going 80 matches down, without a break in the middle. Need some time to analyze what im doing wrong, right, and what I could improve on. 20-30 losses in a row against the same player would probably be my breaking point. Go beat up on some noobs for a round or two to gain some confidence back, eat a meal and sip a beer while I consider whats what, and then come back to it fresh. well... I guess it would also depend if I won any rounds. If I can't even pull a round then definitely.

Master Of Chaos Posted August 13, 2014 Posted August 13, 2014 Whenever the other guy drops out without saying anything after I win for the first time, particularly if I just got out of a losing streak. Whenever the opponent rage quits after I land an astral. Unless it's Terumi's, then it's just funny. Whenever I win a match with Terumi and I get hate mail from the loser getting mad at me for using a "Broken ass DLC character," or even better, "A shitty Hazama clone who's a waste of a character slot and doesn't belong in the game." And, my personal favorite: Whenever I win and the other guy goes all elitist and tells me how I'm the real loser for playing a dumb anime game and how I would never stand a chance at a REAL fighter like Marvel or Street Fighter. Good times.
Master Of Chaos Posted August 13, 2014 Posted August 13, 2014 Some of the time I find it funny. Other times I want to punch them in the dick.

The only reason I hate Terumi is because his autopilot combos are boring as hell to have to sit through. The only character that doesn't belong in this game is Platinum.

Raziul Posted August 13, 2014 Posted August 13, 2014 Platinum=loli Blazblue=anime fighter There seems to be a connection. That's what Rachel was for.
Ventus Tatshima Posted August 13, 2014 Posted August 13, 2014 The psychological effect that occurs losing to a Loli character is hilarious
StylisH Posted August 13, 2014 Posted August 13, 2014 That's what Rachel was for. When you get your ass handed to you by a little girl holding a frying pan and riding a heart shaped surfboard, you can't hate her THAT much. I'm seriously thinking of adding Plat to my sub stable just to get the salt from the source.

BloodWolF Posted August 14, 2014 Posted August 14, 2014 A pet peave. People who double jump all round. I stand on the other side of the screen and do nothing..they double jump endlessly. I don't know what they're running from up there. I can see certain character using it effectively, but not just over and over. I can't even try to fight them seriously after seeing it the first round.
