Airk Posted August 18, 2014 Posted August 18, 2014 I played several people recently who forward rolled every time I knocked them down, leading me to backdash and punish them every single time. It got tiresome after a while. It's like some players don't even know the metagame behind teching exists. Makes me wish it was like GG where you just make people eat oki and they can't do a damn thing about it. ... You just played a bunch of games where you were able to punish your opponent on wakeup every time...and got bored... ...and it made you wish you were playing a game where you could punish your opponent on wakeup every time?
StylisH Posted August 18, 2014 Posted August 18, 2014 Which reminds me, I need to let Dizzy stretch her wings fot a bit...

I meant that I like it better in GG where neutral tech is your only option, meaning you HAVE to block incoming oki unless you choose to use a reversal. Roll teching adds another layer of mindgames, but at times just feels pointless.

susano Posted August 19, 2014 Posted August 19, 2014 1. When I'm holding block for dear life to block an overhead in UNIB and still get hit. 2. When people call you a chicken even though you kicked them out for a flunctuating connection.Sorry but if you're a 3 and you went down to a 0, I am not playing you. End of story. 3. Failing with Gordeau at times when I should be making grown men pee themselves. ._. 4. Still have not gotten Hilda's lynchpin stuff down yet. 5. I shouldn't complain about Waldstein but he is stupid, stupid tier.
D.R.F. Posted August 19, 2014 Posted August 19, 2014 The funniest thing about unib is that it almost feels like startup to block shit I can count the amount of times I went to block an overhead or my friend did and it doesnt happen lol

Synyster17 Posted August 22, 2014 Posted August 22, 2014 overheads. i can't block any of them. why i quit unib and other games netplay cause its so bad when i know i can block them offline and have b4
StylisH Posted August 23, 2014 Posted August 23, 2014 America can't block overheads. Don't feel too bad.
TD Posted August 23, 2014 Posted August 23, 2014 The funniest thing about unib is that it almost feels like startup to block shit I can count the amount of times I went to block an overhead or my friend did and it doesnt happen lol This. Wait, are you using shield?
D.R.F. Posted August 23, 2014 Posted August 23, 2014 ^ well shield has recovery. So if you block wrong you will pay. By im talking about regular block
Argent Zero Posted August 23, 2014 Posted August 23, 2014 Beat a guy, they get salty, then send mail saying how preposterous everything about the character they lost to. The only thing preposterous is how you can manage to lower yourself as a player by being a sore loser. Getting salty is one thing, but sending hate afterwards is just pathetic. Simply put, it's not worth it. I know, I done my fair share early on in my career and let me just say, there's nothing redeeming about it. If I had time sending hate, I'd grind in the Training room to blow off steam, a lot more productive and causes 0 ruckus. Or ask for advice on how the character operates so that you don't fall for the same tactics, over and over again. God dammit, my freaking signature hints on how to beat me, you know, the thing below this comment. ↓ It's 100% accurate you know...
TD Posted August 23, 2014 Posted August 23, 2014 What crawled up his ass, right? Apparently, bugs did.
NecroTheReaper Posted August 23, 2014 Posted August 23, 2014 I find hate mail a HUGE break from playing a game. Its really humorous to me most of the time, and I get excited every time I see that "New Message" notifivation pop up. It makes me laugh bevause there's no way to tell if they're serious or not. If they're just messin around, they can get hilariously creative, and if they're serious, they make the most rediculous complaints. Like one time, I did Relius' simple 5B>3C>6D>j.b blockstring, a guy keeps saying IN LOBBY CHAT "Spam much? Why you keep spamming? Spamming is for scrubs". Beat him every time till I switched to a random character out of pity, then left after it got repetitive. Ahhhjh, hate mail. It should have its own show.

I just think it's mind blowingly fucking stupid that Arakune gets away with 7k meterless damage and everyone thinks it's some how justified. That sort of nonsense needs to stay in MvC3.
NecroTheReaper Posted August 23, 2014 Posted August 23, 2014 Because that's his intended design. They nerfed him from Ex yet he still works exactly the same, so obviously, its how its suppose to be.
Raziul Posted August 23, 2014 Posted August 23, 2014 His intended design is to increased damage during curse. 7k with out having to spend any heat when he has more than enough tools to curse you with out even hitting you is dumb as fuck and anyone who says otherwise is delusional.
Celerity Posted August 23, 2014 Posted August 23, 2014 Arakune is a stupid character, but it's still wrong to hate on someone for playing a stupid character. Stupid characters are fun.
TD Posted August 23, 2014 Posted August 23, 2014 Rather fight a kune than a koko. At least he can be zoned, doesn't have a DP without heat and so on. Yes he is really really dumb we get it BUT, his weaknesses are holding him back. Now it's up to your character to exploit them, obviously bang has much harder of a time that any zoner could, and no good anti air. These sort of things really help shut kune down. Now of you were playing haku you kinda have nobody to be mad at but yourself as he is both better than kune overall and shits out the same amount of damage, except he sneezes and you die, kune kinda has to set his up Play rachel, at least she can completely lame out his curse unlike any other char in the game... Except maybe koko
Stellarcircle5 Posted August 23, 2014 Posted August 23, 2014 If you don't hesitate against the blob and rush his shit down, the character seems almost laughable. He has a ton of bad matchups for this very reason. It's a hell of a lot better than fighting Kokonoe who can get a j.a confirm into halfscreen corner carry which leads into the scariest stagger pressure in the game. Just don't let him lame you out. Get in that ass, yo.
Argent Zero Posted August 23, 2014 Posted August 23, 2014 Pretty much what stellar and TD says. Rushing him down is the answer to beat him, even Tager can do it if you know what your doing, Arakune's neutrals aren't the best thing in this game if you realized. Once you corner him, just watch out for a burst and his distortion, and you pretty much have him in a tight spot. I'll stop here with Arakune gameplay talk and just paste a link http://www.dustloop.com/forums/index.php?/topic/5330-cp-arakune-technical-and-gameplay-discussion-thread Maybe this will help if you don't understand what's going on when your fighting an Arakune. It's sad (pathetic) to see someone rage when they have no clue what's going on and start spewing out hate/trash. Also since many people are oblivious to this fact: The Bell Bug/Party Bug(Arakune's 6D) is an overhead.

All you need to do is block

Except maybe koko NOT joining the discussion, but I want to point out Hakumen's status in CP is overrated and his damage is not free. Meterless his damage is pathetic even out of a 3C CH, and the only way for it to get high is by burning IN THE LEAST 4 stars, though 5 is optimal Also most of his normals suck. Just leaving this out here because everyone seems to look at Haku's damage and forget most of his tools got nerfed in CP.

Its like they cant do anything until they have like 3 stars. So its usually jab links. I wouldnt say his normals are bad (lol fuck that) but they arent what they used to be
