M.Song Posted October 1, 2007 Posted October 1, 2007 i have trouble with that one too... in fact.. i have trouble with most frcs that change timing depending on hit or whiff
Doomscyther Posted October 1, 2007 Posted October 1, 2007 the lvl 2/3 smoke I can do if I actually tried, just cause they look different, but the srk jsut seems the same to me most the time, though i think i should jsut learn lvl 2 srk and forget about lvl 3 since lvl 3 i can just RC anyway. shit idk.
Doomscyther Posted October 1, 2007 Posted October 1, 2007 Wish me luck in my matchs today. I go forth with the blessing of robo ky.
Doomscyther Posted October 1, 2007 Posted October 1, 2007 I want to know your favorite thing about robo ky, and why you enjoy playing 'im. Also what is your favorite color. For me its when I hit people with knee rockets cause noone in the game has anything close to something as wicked as that. You know after you do a air combo on say sol and he techs foward, high into the air, looking for a safe place to fall, then out of know where a Knee rocket is shooting up, hitting him in the face. Fav color : Dust=both ex and reg set of colors The hot pink one when u play against female characters. (including bridget)
tolore Posted October 1, 2007 Posted October 1, 2007 combo into detonation into taunt! nothing like sitting back and relaxing watching your enemy die.
JackG Posted October 1, 2007 Posted October 1, 2007 When you have a full bar and you counterhit with Robo Dash, immediately activate det mode and then 236236S (punchy super), mashing slash for 10 seconds. Sure it's super conditional, but it's the best feeling ever. I have way too many favorite Robo-Ky colors. normal color scheme K (purple and yellow, aka crown royal robo) EX slash (pinkish looking one, aka robo lobster) and in Slash color scheme slash (dark green aka leprechaun Robo) or Reload color scheme K (yellow and black, aka Bumblebee Robo-Ky)
dontuel Posted October 1, 2007 Posted October 1, 2007 My color is EX HS (lime green or w/e) Favorite things with the robot are probably 4-5 missile combos in the corner or stuffing overdrives with robo dash *edit* i almost forgot my favoritest of things to do with robot and that is killing people with instant headbut (236236S 236S) best thing ever
PhaethonH Posted October 2, 2007 Posted October 2, 2007 RE: 6H FRC The only 6H FRC I can hit reliably is lvl 3. I'm weird like that. Although one time I saw Stormlocke pull off an oki lvl 1 exhaust FRC jump crossup ftw. I don't even know how that's possible, but he did do it. RE: favorite thing about RO 5H FRC. That's the only reason. Accordingly, I hate EX Robo-Ky (as in the console-only alternate version).
Raph_Stryker Posted October 2, 2007 Posted October 2, 2007 The color of my choosing is Ex P, aka Robo Ky Mk II and my favorite thing(s) about him, is that hmm 1. his taunt is pimp'n. 2. he has a chair in his ass and doubles as a bike 3. He is a mother effin robot, that exhumes steam and drains peoples tension and and is too cool for much words. hurray Robo
EiseneFaust Posted October 2, 2007 Posted October 2, 2007 fav color is Reload-H (kinda grey with black outlines and a pink sword) best thing with Robo Ky is the bike dust... I love that thing.. it also doubles as a nice getaway from ground-to-air moves hehe they don't expect me to hover. my other favorite thing is the ground taunt to mess up people's Oki's hehe I love that soo much. It totally messes with people. Another great thing I love is hitting Sytha with 5H when he was playing May last week hehe so funny his expression when he got whacked like 7 times with it And of course the air missiles and knee rockets
PhaethonH Posted October 12, 2007 Posted October 12, 2007 Posting useful stuff would be more helpful. Like interesting quirks, missile tricks, Slashback setups, what not to do, funny useless combos, or whatever. Personally for me, I haven't played GG for a week, so I got nothing new.
Dr. Stormlocke Posted October 12, 2007 Author Posted October 12, 2007 Yes, please. I don't mind people posting/discussing about random stuff related to Robo, but please talk about SOMETHING in particular. For example in a recent batch of Nezu vids I've been working on uploading: Nezu is blocking the typical Eddie/Little Eddie pressure string, but Slashbacks the second hit of Little Eddie's Kick, then immediately goes into 5hs~combo. Risky to be sure because if you fuck it up you're going to eat the rest of what is to come, but pretty neat nonetheless.
M.Song Posted October 12, 2007 Posted October 12, 2007 before i tried to ib the shadow.. but tried to sb actual actual eddie's attacks.. then grab... but that didn't seem to work... maybe i'll try that
Mike Z Posted October 12, 2007 Posted October 12, 2007 Lots of players recently are SBing the 2nd hit of Mawaru, because you know he's going to do it, and the 2nd hit always comes at the same time after the first hit, plus usually Eddie isn't hitting you at that point. There was a May match vid from a long time ago where the guy did that, as well. Mike Z
dontuel Posted October 13, 2007 Posted October 13, 2007 Posting useful stuff would be more helpful. Some of this stuff is probably pretty common knowledge but i dont think ive seen it posted before so heres some stuff i do/ i've noticed. First is a little execution tip: Use k for robo dash. The reason for this is if you werent running long enough or if you let go of forward a little too soon or w/e all you get it a k which you recover from really quickly, where as 6p s and 6hs all take a while to recover from. Obviously you shouldnt have those sorts of things happen often but its always good just incase. TK missiles - If you double jump after a missle then you should land without any recovery so if you want to throw a missle where you might be in any danger of being punished then just do a normal jump tk missle (as opposed to sj.tkmissle) then double jump and land and you should be able to block the whole way through. Theres also a way to have no recovery after a sj.tk missile if you air dash forward and attack after it but im not 100% on how that works. If any1 can do this consistantly please elaborate. This next one is gonna sound kinda silly but seriously it hits people all the time. If you have 60%+ tension, if some1 baits your srk but dont punish you in the air and try and run up and get their big combo when you land, throw out another srk. it seems alot of people dont realize how fast you recover from that. This is ofcourse a judgment call as to if you think the person will be able to punish you before you recover or if you should just FRC. Another thing that ive been playing around with lately is lvl2 steam frc run up command throw. My usual setup is blocked ground bazooka, j.k land 5p 6hs frc run up 63214k. O and speaking of that ive been liking to use j.k after a blocked ground bazooka. This is cause you can wait till like the very last second before you land to throw it out and it will still hit so you can use this to mix up with empty jump command throw or empty jump 5k/2k/w.e or you can throw it out and they switch to block your 5k/2k and combo into knockdown.
Kanebou Posted October 13, 2007 Posted October 13, 2007 2k 2s loops work wonders for me, when opponent backs up, then it's 66k for tension. If blocked, 2k 2s. If hit, spam air missiles before Gen-Ky, then RTSD. So simple, yet so effective. What's the point for 214s btw? I can't seem to utilize it at all.
Dr. Stormlocke Posted October 13, 2007 Author Posted October 13, 2007 What's the point for 214s btw? I can't seem to utilize it at all. (Good shit Dontuel. Remember the SRK Whiff Trick is called "Teh Brandon Special") Horsie is used to to stay in their face, (mainly at Level 3). Try occasionally ending your pressure strings with it. Also Level 3 is very fast so you can quickly cover great distances with it. On hit act fast and combo into 5hs FRC (x2), Aircombo or whatever you can afford tension wise. I'm also quite fond of FRC'ing a whiffed 2hs into Level 2 or 3 Horsie. Almost always catches them off guard.
Zaido Posted October 13, 2007 Posted October 13, 2007 if ur talkign about Horsie, its good on oki cause people can't wake up grab you, higher lvl heat? or CH and different lvl has different properties? it takes you across the screen fast, its able to combo after.. it doesn't seem to bad when blocked so... why not use it? it also has cross up ability on knockdown opponent? so yea and Stormlocke has all the juicy detail about it
Kanebou Posted October 13, 2007 Posted October 13, 2007 RicK's win quotes are hilarious, but I can't seem to be able to find a database for them online. Can someone post his win quotes? I'd do it myself, but my TV cuts out the third line.
Chojin Posted October 14, 2007 Posted October 14, 2007 if ur talkign about Horsie, its good on oki cause people can't wake up grab you, Not so much any more, now that Robo can go through the opponent; IIRC, it's difficult now to time it correctly so that it hits them (when you're right in the opponent's face, anyway).
Kanebou Posted October 14, 2007 Posted October 14, 2007 Thanks for the advice guys, horse doesn't come out much, but opponent never suspects it when it does come out. ...when did my thread about RK quotes become a post here? Thought it died...
Doomscyther Posted October 14, 2007 Posted October 14, 2007 I try not to post alot of things that work well but i need to stop doing that. 1. End blockstrings with a 5hs frc ( not all the time and mix it up) Ex: oki: 5p,2s, [this is where people will think its safe and attack since ur close up] 5hs frc [this will beat out anything, ive yet to see something beat it out or when ur frc it and see a super animation from them, u should be able to fd.]. Once the 5hs frc hits, run for 1 sec or so (to waste time for tension regain of the frc if u didnt know) then do whatever combo ur tension allows. I mainly go for knee rocket frc then SJ combo. If done at 75% tension, you can land three lvl 2 rockets on them in the corner which this really fking hurts. 2. This doesnt work all the time but it can catch people off gaurd. When you have 100% tension, as an oki do 5P/2S, 5hs frc [x4]. this will buil d there gaurd gauge to flashing to where u can fish for a counterhit or throw counter. those are some tricks u can do.
kousaka Posted October 15, 2007 Posted October 15, 2007 does CH knee rocket have any guaranteed follow ups?
