TagAnarchy Posted July 9, 2015 Posted July 9, 2015 Some of us just aren't listed. I'm going and I'm sure there might be 2-3 more aside from who's on that list.
TagAnarchy Posted July 10, 2015 Posted July 10, 2015 I just realized how sad it is that out of 600+ people, I'd only be comfortable saying that 10, at the most 15, people will actually play Bedman. Hopefully one of us hits stream to show the world just what we have up our sleeve.
NecroTheReaper Posted July 10, 2015 Posted July 10, 2015 That just means there's more people for Bedman players to beat xD. Seriously though, good luck guys
WonderTonic Posted July 11, 2015 Posted July 11, 2015 (edited) Messing around with DV Task A' and Hemi Jack earlier. I know its pretty much common knowledge now that when 214k lands during an Overdrive, the teleport doesn't happen until after the overdrive completely recovers or you RC the overdrive.  What I didn't know (and some of you talented folks may already know) is that when 214k connects during an overdrive, the invincibility from 214K's teleport will last from the moment 214k connects until the overdrive fully recovers, meaning that Hemi Jack appears to be 100% safe after 214k even if you don't RRC the Overdrive.  I did this just to make sure it was truly strike and throw invincible The opponent cannot mash throw during this, or they will simply whiff a normal, however they can contest your throw with their own if they can time it on the exact frame the invincibility wears off, I do not know who wins in that situation, but i was able to throw the recording after hemi jack with some difficulty. I do not know how airtight my throw was in the recording. This was just something I threw together utilizing this Even though you're invincible, the opponent still recovers before your Hemi Jack and can jump or do whatever. It seems as though if they hold up during the recovery you have enough time to react with an airthrow etc. Apologies if this part is already common knowledge Edited August 12, 2015 by WonderTonic
NecroTheReaper Posted July 11, 2015 Posted July 11, 2015 The fact that the setup gets Hemi out for no damaging risk is great, cuz chances are they're gonna either jump over you, mash on you, or run away from the corner. Two of these options are risky if Hemi's just gonna creep up and grab them if they try to pressure or you just grab them
TagAnarchy Posted July 12, 2015 Posted July 12, 2015 Pretty sure that isn't common knowledge. Thank you Wondertonic! I always tried doing  this with Task A', but if you start up an overdrive during Task the head auto returns. I thought the same applied for the head DJVs and never tried it. Oops. >.>
TagAnarchy Posted July 13, 2015 Posted July 13, 2015 Been messing in that, and absolutely nothing can punish it. Connecting the DJVA' turns the move from being invincible on appearance to invincible during Hemi Jack recovery until appearance. I've been going through everyone's options and while nobody can touch him during the warp, long lasting supers or moves will force Bedman to come out blocking like Venom's Dark Angel or Axl's Sickle Storm. I'll go through and edit this post as I find out more. Also, as is the case with Slayer's Dead on Time, Bedman won't teleport with the opponent's movement. He'll always teleport to the location where the DJVA' connected. As an example, if the head connects midscreen and Slayer DoTs away in an attempt to punish, Bedman will appear midscreen along with Hemi Jack.
TagAnarchy Posted July 13, 2015 Posted July 13, 2015 Had too much to post, so i'll just use another forum post: Supers that force Bedman to block on teleport: Sin's R-T-L 2nd & 3rd dash. 1st whiffs. Sin's Voltec Dein  Faust's Kancho Faust's Super Item toss (If he gets an item with an active hitbox)  Millia's Emerald Rain (2nd and 3rd blade, 1st one whiffs)  Sol's Tyrant Rave (2nd hit, 1st hit whiffs)  Potemkin's Giganter Kai  Ramlethal's CalvadosRamlethal's Trance  Venom's Dark Angel Venom's TK Red Hail Venom's Bishop Runout (Summon + immediate hit)  Zato's TK Excecutor (Slight Delay)  Bedman's Sinusoidal Helios (Immediately done will whiff completely, slight delay will force a block)   While all DPs and projectiles normally don't have the ability to do anything, the above overdrives can put pressure on Bedman as he comes out of the teleport. Here's some cliff notes as to the benefits of this setup:  -Even if an above overdrive is used, so long as it's blocked, Hemi Jack will still exist. -If set up in the corner, blocking a stationary overdrive equates to a death sentence, as Hemi Jack is usually on the move towards them by recovery. Following it up with pressure of any kind assures Hemi Jack landing. -Once DJVA' lands, Bedman becomes invincible from that moment until he ends the actual teleport. -DPs, Grand Viper, Stun Dipper, etc have no effect until he comes out of teleport, even during the, usually, very punishable recovery of Hemi Jack's summoning. -As this has been found literal days before EVO, this might end up being the ace in our sleeve against people who don't read this post. Enjoy your findings. I know I am.
WonderTonic Posted July 13, 2015 Posted July 13, 2015 Oh wow you did all the work for me. Thanks lol. I also imagine any lingering normal outside of throw range will force a block/backdash as well. Of course they would actually have to know when you are vulnerable again. Once I get home from work I'll have till Evo to mess around more. Here's hoping I can make good use of it .
TagAnarchy Posted July 13, 2015 Posted July 13, 2015 Yeah, long lasting moves work too, but said person would have to know about the invincibility for it to be a threat. Same situation as supers though is that if they wait, Hemi Jack will be on the move.
GKHiryu Posted July 16, 2015 Posted July 16, 2015 I've made a sort of Bedman pressure concept video. It's meant to be much longer with a bit of commentary and in depth analysis of his options, but as of now I barely have time for a leisurely fart, so excuse the lack of explanation in the vid itself. I think if someone plays Bedman enough to recognize his moves on the fly he may find something useful, with emphasis on j.K airdash cancel and j.K > j.D RC. Â Any commentary is welcome, though as stated above I am aware that the video is lacking in many areas. Â The video is still uploading, but should be up in approx. 20 minutes. I've made it private because I don't think it's something that's worth showing outside of bedbros circle. http://youtu.be/AfGGhapNub8
Zeero Posted July 16, 2015 Posted July 16, 2015 i think you meant to make it unlisted? Can't watch it even if I have the link right now
GKHiryu Posted July 16, 2015 Posted July 16, 2015 Youtube is still processing the vid, but I made sure that it's "Non-public" as in "you can only watch it via direct link". You know youtube, gotta give it some time. If there are any problems, I'll be up in six hours to fix them. Â Edit: it should be up. works for me. Â Edit2: hoooooly zen I did not expect that much of a quality downgrade. I'll try to upload something that looks less like manure, but it'll take me about 24hrs. Â Edit3: Try this link if the one above doesn't work: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AfGGhapNub8&feature=youtu.be
Jocelot Posted July 16, 2015 Posted July 16, 2015 Either way, great vid bro thanks. This'll make my Bed game that much better.
GKHiryu Posted July 17, 2015 Posted July 17, 2015 Thanks! What it needs the most is risk and character analysis - a lot of Bedman's options lose simply to mashing 2P, but then you can always just go back to j.K > j.P, which beats that. Â Also, sadly, I haven't gotten ANY trickier options to work on Faust and many don't work against Zato. I was planning on figuring out and writing down the matchup specific stuff for Faust. I've seen very good combos against him, but nobody touched on pressure strings and due to Faust's ridiculous crouch stance it's very hard to hit him with anything. Â btw I didn't put it in the vid, but one of the best things to surprise with if meter is available is any blockstring > 5h (2hit) > j.D RC. I'm pretty sure it wasn't mentioned, but if it was, let's not forget it
WonderTonic Posted July 19, 2015 Posted July 19, 2015 Managed to make it out of pools. I Lost to Koichi, I spent so much time preparing for the I-No match-up, and he picks elphelt on me Lmao. I don't think he picked her any other time from what I saw. I Ended up getting eliminated by Min. Props to GCyoshi on taking the team tourney, and placing top 32. I was really hoping to catch you/your matches, but no luck. Good meeting you TagAnarchy. You got a lot going for you. Very solid Bedman
NecroTheReaper Posted July 19, 2015 Posted July 19, 2015 So how far did our Bedbro's get? Other things I think worth mentioning. 2K has a pretty good cancel window, and 2K>2S is already a frametrap, which just emphasizes how good Bedman's tick grab game is. Also, just because even some of the jp bedman players seem to struggle with it occasionally, if you land a random 2HS, you can safely run some I-no strats on them by 886>FD>airgrab OS. If they tech, you get an airgrab reset. If they don't, you get a knockdown/combo. Safer than doing tk task B or rising j.S imo
GcYoshi13 Posted July 21, 2015 Posted July 21, 2015 I got 25th (top 32) at Xrd singles and I helped win it for my team for the Xrd 3v3 Arc Revo Qualifiers (teamed with 2GB's Venom and LordKnight's Millia) Â I lost to Woshige in winners (could only get one round off of him) and Jonio (or was it Tonio?). Jonio played Leo which I beat, then he swapped to his Chipp and I lost two. Â Teams I managed to pull some weight. I sweeped two teams and against one team I managed to beat two of their players.
Tiamat Posted July 21, 2015 Posted July 21, 2015 You did really well GcYoshi I was watching your last two matches in the team tournament. Â Nice OCV on the last one. Â
GcYoshi13 Posted July 21, 2015 Posted July 21, 2015 You did really well GcYoshi I was watching your last two matches in the team tournament. Â Nice OCV on the last one. Â Thanks. I still need some new cheap tech and need to study a lot of character's neutral.
Kikirin Posted July 21, 2015 Posted July 21, 2015 Good stuff, GcYoshi! Watching you wreck house in the 3v3 Top 4 was super hype.
TagAnarchy Posted July 22, 2015 Posted July 22, 2015 Went 3-2. I take solace in that fact that it took another Bedman player to eliminate me. Here's to you Rikir. GGs. I wish I had done as well as Yoshi though. D: Â Totally not holding a small grudge. :x
NecroTheReaper Posted July 26, 2015 Posted July 26, 2015 So, since Evo's passed, anything new learned in the way of matchups, either good or bad? Curious how it felt possibly playing against some real top players.
Filipinoman Posted July 27, 2015 Posted July 27, 2015 Hey guys, I'm 100% completely new to GG and I've been messing around with some of the characters (mainly Faust, May and obv Bedman), and Bedman is honestly my favorite out of the 3.  He seems super fun, and his character just seems cool af. The replay is one of the coolest specials I've ever seen, as well as his command dash. I also saw the setups and they're so sick and his ground normals seem good from what I've seen.  I can't wait to learn this game :>. I'm gonna go read up on basics and stuff, but I think he's the character I want to use!Â
TagAnarchy Posted July 27, 2015 Posted July 27, 2015 @Filipinoman, are you the street fighter playing Filipinoman? O.O Regardless, welcome to the thread of one of the most unique/oddest characters in the cast. Ask anyone here for help and we'd be more than happy to assist in whatever questions you have. Just know that you now have to help come up with bed/sleep related puns now that you're here. [emoji14]
