Hopefully the "more details" include telling us the price (please be -slightly- discounted) and showing off the next playable character(s) and assist(s), unless they keep the playable and assist count as an odd number.

Man, I can't wait for the new version on consoles. Selvaria only got a handful of buffs that I can see, but they're all REALLY good for her. Being able to cancel 236X into teleports makes that move actually worth using at neutral now! (To say nothing of the new mid-range combo routes it opens up for her now. Max-range 5C, 2C, and 2B starters are a lot more dangerous now!) Cancel is on hit or block, probably still unsafe on block if you're close, but at max range, it's difficult to say if any character besides KYH or Selvaria could punish it on block.

They also buffed the hell out of the advantage on hit (shortened recovery? or just inflict more hitstun? can't tell yet) on both her ground and air 214A. She no longer needs to space out with max-range 2B starter to reliably combo 214A (hit) > link 5A/5B > air combo now, just putting a 2B > 5C filler into a combo from A attacks is generally enough space for the required advantage on hit now.

Her 2A+B doesn't look any better, but I think she can play "around" that just by getting even more reward on spaced-out pokes now. Easier/more rewarding now to avoid situations where Sel's inability to anti-air right above/behind her head would be a huge liability.

Just wished the original console release for international version is cancelled, and goes forward to Ignition update as the first console release in international version instead + wanna see Tecmo Koei join in as a 3rd party like how in UNI(EL(ST)) has both Type-Moon & Subtle Style guests

On a side note, something tells me the Ignition update still lack dash moves & command moves + missing some sprites for wall bounced/cheap KOed on the ground/crumpled.

Welp, time to cancel my preorder of the older game since it makes no sense to buy it when 2 months later the revision will be out.

More Ignition pics from magazine. Only posting the two pages that shows any gameplay

Nothing particularly new besides more story screenshots and more gameplay. Although it shows a bit more of playable Tatsuya and assist Miyuki that currently is not in arcade yet. Looks like Tatsuya has some kind of divekick, but not sure if it's just a normal one or it's a move that follows up with a divekick ender. Also can't tell how much range his CADs has in the game since it looks like he uses them from full screen, but not sure if it connects. Miyuki assist looks like it will have decent range too [naturally], but not sure if it has homing properties or not.

Any other news? Mostly wondering about the price and whether it's a separate release or a patch (yeah, I know, the chances of the latter are low, but still).

Do you think they'll do a LE of this? Already preordered a PS4 and Vita copy but I'd gladly order a LE if it gets announced.

Also, I really hope they:

  • Add running frames to Tomoka, Kirito and other chars
  • They buff mah Miyuki
  • They nerf Shana and Kirino (Shana I can tolerate, but GAWD I HATE KIRINO)

New Ignition Trailer. Includes footage of playable Tatsuya and assist Miyuki

Here is impressions breakdown

- 0:14 might be either a parry or just a good read punish since it stuffed Kirito's air attack

-Tatsuya's range actually doesn't look half bad at 0:23. Has come crazy speed shenanigans too.

- 1:58 is some of his air combos

- Interesting at 2:01 it looked like he is using Elemental Sight but can't tell the gameplay effects of it. My guess is if it's staying true to the character it's either opening a path for more moves or just slow mo shit. Could be just an aesthetic though. Need to see more arcade footage of him.

- 3:09 finger-snap references this

I'm guessing at the end Tatsuya and Misaka has some special intro dialogue.

Dengeki has an article that details all Tatsuya's Specials and Miyuki Assist.

SPECIAL ATTACKS
Mist Dispersion (ミスト・ディスパージョン) 236ABC [Air OK]
"Magic appears in different places depending on the version, just like Miyuki's 'Floral Lock'. Aerial version shoots diagonally downwards. Useful in spacing."
Follow-up Action A/B/C on hit or block [Air OK]
A - Gets close to the opponent at high speed
    B - Sweeping attack
C - Attacks while moving forward

Loop Cast (ループキャスト) 214ABC
"Jumps in a parabola-shaped trajectory and shoots all around himself. Nullifies projectiles."
Follow-up Action A/B/C when you successfully catch a projectile

Falcon (隼, Hayabusa) j.214 A/B/C
"Very useful in midair combos"

IMPACT SKILL
Azure Tempest (青嵐, Aoarashi) A+B
"Similar to Miyuki's 'Fenrir'. Tatsuya passes through the opponent and then attacks them."

Floating Cloud (浮雲, Ukigumo) 2 A+B
"Warps into midair and then comes down stomping the opponent"

IMPACT BREAK
4 A+B

CLIMAX ARTS
Sonic End (ソニック・エンド) 41236+BC
"Snaps his fingers to cause an explosive burst"

Cadenza (カデンツァ) 63214+BC
"A long chain of various kicks"

TRUMP CARD
Flash Cast (フラッシュキャスト) A+C
"A power-up type Trump Card, like Shana's, but we aren't sure about the specifics. Considering the name, maybe it increases Specials start-up or something"

Miyuki Assist
5S - Floral Lock (Has a very fast start-up. Works for both combos and offense)
6S - Freezing Zone (A slower attack, but works the same way as the other attack. Might want to use it when the opponent tries to Recover.)

Also a reminder.
Dengeki will stream Tatsuya footage during the 2nd TGS day. Stream is here (& Youtube Live also, but no link yet...) and it will start at 12:00 Japanese time (In about 8 hours from now)

Additional Info

Tatsuya: - Self-Restoration (or Regrowth) activated when Burst is full/ready. (Note: Is it when it's last round or double ignition)

Miyuki (assist)

  1. All assist are all EX versions of her playable form.
  2. 3rd assist: j.5S (or j.6S) calls Gungnir (EX Version). (Saw it at TGS2015 video vs. Quenser at Round 2, at 83 seconds left)
