Tong Posted December 15, 2012 Posted December 15, 2012 Maybe now, using DID mid combo and RC is the way to go?
Kaimon3500 Posted December 16, 2012 Posted December 16, 2012 Does Ragna finally have legit mix-ups in CP? I haven't been watching much of the game lately.

DogsofWar Posted December 16, 2012 Posted December 16, 2012 Does Ragna finally have legit mix-ups in CP? I haven't been watching much of the game lately. Quite the opposite my friend. Kayeff, that is the creepiest picture i've ever seen. I no longer have to play survival horror games because i have seen the true face of terror.
-Kid Posted December 16, 2012 Posted December 16, 2012 Well as far as mix up goes... I don't think that anyone will be using 6B much. Anything done after 6B is unsafe, and considering how easy it is to block 6B, people are going to be punishing it's use on block. You have to be ridiculously close to go from 6B to 6A, and even then, once both 6B ---> 6A is blocked..
KayEff Posted December 16, 2012 Author Posted December 16, 2012 6B > 5D is supposedly safe and pretty easy to confirm into a combo on hit
Tong Posted December 16, 2012 Posted December 16, 2012 He'll never have Valk/Carl-like mixups, which are legit.
-Seo Posted December 16, 2012 Posted December 16, 2012 Vertical hitbox on it got nerfed, but I'm not sure what else (if anything) was done to it.
Godlike Assault Posted December 16, 2012 Posted December 16, 2012 Our salvation will come from abuse of BS.
MashThat5A Posted December 17, 2012 Posted December 17, 2012 It looks more minus on block. Also, Spirit Juice combos do really low damage, so there's probably no hope.
Spirit Juice Posted December 17, 2012 Posted December 17, 2012 All combos do pretty sad damage, not just Spirit Juice combos. I'll give Ragna a try when CP comes out, but things aren't looking good.
Gramas Posted December 17, 2012 Posted December 17, 2012 (edited) doesn't look so terrible...but I dont know why they nerfed 5C vertical hitbox...yes near the corner 5B 5C on an airborne opponent was a realy good starter but it wasn't unfair at all the overall and max damage is nerfed for everyone so I dont see the point...CSE ragna was doing 500 more damage than in CS2 and jumped into S tier(?!?!) now ragna does 500 less damage than in CS2(well some combos do actualy nearly as much damage as in extend)and he's dead?(?!?!) What I dont understand is why arksys remove tools like TK gh into 2A or bk(I hope his overdrive is good once someone would like to mess around with it but I doubt it) This is also a total revamp of the game and the combos are not yet optimized... Tong Posted December 17, 2012 Posted December 17, 2012 It took months, before Ragnas began to use Double Berial combos in CS1. So yeah, CP Rags has a long way to go before being "perfect".
Lord Knight Posted December 17, 2012 Posted December 17, 2012 months? double berial was maybe 2-3 weeks into the game lol
BlackYakuzu94 Posted December 17, 2012 Posted December 17, 2012 Ole Rags got hit with the nerf bat hard didn't he. I've been watching videos, and he just doesn't seem as much of a monster that he was in Extend.
Sadeyo Posted December 17, 2012 Posted December 17, 2012 months? double berial was maybe 2-3 weeks into the game lol I say first week since some knew to follow up with 5D 22C after it carries to the corner or go into 6A jC BE 5D 22C after the first launch. Ignoring all of that Ragna is looking pretty weak and it's going to take a while to find any fundamental tools for combat. I also suggest not spamming Blood Scythe since projectiles can now interrupt it, currently watching a Rachel use Lobelia to AA it into 2.4k. www.youtube.com/watch?v=N7ZhO9O3XcM#t=5m45s It's also time to get unique with pressure, this one actually surprised me.
floatwater Posted December 17, 2012 Posted December 17, 2012 BS being used as a cross up is still fine. i believe were gonna have to spend heat for high damage combos.
Sadeyo Posted December 17, 2012 Posted December 17, 2012 BS being used as a cross up is still fine. i believe were gonna have to spend heat for high damage combos. I mentioned that earlier, so those that are devoted should just practice RC combos and Crush Trigger. That's pretty much the only way to get promising results with the character...or at least what's seen so far.

It's not necessarily max damage that is making him pretty weak right now. Comboability is down to pretty sad levels, 6A nerfed pretty badly, nerfed overheads, and no more 22C oki hurts A LOT. I think the biggest problem is that they took out a lot of things that made Ragna fun (he was still fun in CS2, even if he was considered weak), and all he gained in CP was... Blood Scythe. lol
mAc Chaos Posted December 17, 2012 Posted December 17, 2012 Your avatar and profile text were never so appropriate.
KayEff Posted December 17, 2012 Author Posted December 17, 2012 it's only hypothetical at this point, but i'm pretty sure 3C oki will still work (plus it's stronger than 22C oki). i'll just have to mess around with the combos to see if i can still have high damage combos and 3C oki. though i'd still suggest you guys to try and learn it
