So the characters are sorta copycats/clones. But, they're not like Super Smash Bros. clones like with Mario and Dr. Mario. There's a decent amount of difference between Nu and Lambda. Though, I was expecting Lambda's playstyle to be more in your face, less D spam.

Like she was in CS, and is in here?

 

Also, the Smash pair of clones you just mentioned is the one with the least differences.

What we basically have right now is a "Street Fighter Clone" - at this point, its' been demonstrated that there are a number of ways to make characters with a fundamentally similar moveset play differently.  But it's still a little disappointing since Street-Fighter-Clonism was previously absent from this game.

Hmm, I guess something like Chie from P4A. Lambda's normals aren't the best. They're short, but pretty quick, and she has some good oki. So her gameplan would be like Chie's. Lambda would need a good hit and hit confirm it into 236D. Her drive would then be used to space until she found an opening. And just like Chie, her damage would be absurd with meter. Anyways, that's just a thought. I don't want her to be like Chie, other wise I'd just play Chie. Just an idea to make her rushdown a bit more effective.

I think people are not considering the true extent of OD curse for Arakune, it actually makes it a true come back mechanic even the part that you cant burst, even though burst was bad in general against curse but now you have less out.

 

As for nu and lambda similarity, it hope it doesn't create some sorta of gravitation against the stronger version like, using bad sf as an analogy but most ryu player plays evil ryue in ultra because he is the best ryu overall, will we get that sort of gravitation here in blazblue? Terumi and hazama has shown enough difference but I'm not feeling that atm with lambda and nu.

Yeah, honestly, I can't imagine OD auto-curse being balanceable at all.   Even if it were A) Short duration and B) completely emptied the curse bar as soon as OD ends regardless of how much was in it when OD started, it would still be the best overdrive in the game.

But this is a special case, isn't it?  It's  a result of Nu simultaneously getting a much needed rework after being unbalanced in CT and her getting "replaced" as a plot point for CS via a sprite swap.  I don't see this happening much more in Blazblue.

As an Arakune player I know more of the value of od instant curse than almost anyone else here.

I just said it was cool.

I'm thinking in general if this will remove the notion of a bad match up for arakune lol, with Nu/lambda/rachel they don't have a reliable reversal, now if you think arakune vs tager is bad this is going to be more lopsided.

 

as for street fighter clone, remember they still they could bring back clone 1-10 with plot twist ^^,

Anything regarding rachel yet?

Please arcsys fix a lotus or take it the hell out. Give it some exploding properties or something. Don't make combos impossible/easier to drop/ time wasting. Right now the move is complete and utter trash with no practical uses whatsoever.

So, uh, what stops Arakune from mashing OD at the start of the round and applying mad pressure right away? Just its short duration? Still pretty scary, I think.

 

Nothing, also the curse duration doesn't have anything to do with the OD duration, since even a 3 second OD can give you a full duration normal curse. This also means less to people that actually know how to play Arakune since you should be capable of managing the curse meter if you're playing him.

Not Koko 1.0 ridiculous but still, not a good move on ASW's part, maybe having the curse meter fill by itself over time, or instantly fill 50% curse meter or something, not friggin; 100%, you could instantly curse anyone with a OD combo anyways, this just makes one of the hardest (Blazblue standards) characters more breaindead.

My question about Ara's OD, can you get a full combo and get someone cornered for a full curse combo? His combos are mostly biust safe as is, and getting a combo your opponent cant really do anything about until after you have them cornered and possibly missing 4k hp and being set up for another full curse combo sounds as rediculous as being sandwiched by Carl in Ex from someone who doesn't play Ara.

I don't think you could get a full damage combo, but getting your opponent cornered and ready to get cursed again in the first 20 seconds of the round? probably.

Eh, I'm at a point where I don't really care how good it is or can be. People are going to complain about him regardless of how good or bad of a character he is. I won't complain that they gave my character something really good, it's still an expendable resource, if this change stays, then it could be literally the one change he's ever gotten since f.g tracking the opponent that helps him in bad MUs, which just keeps stacking up.

Between Hakumen turning up for free 5k+, ValkenhaynBlocker.com, Litchi being herself, Azrael sneezing having a hitbox and taking all your life, three god damn murakumos and Kokonoe's mere existence, I kinda don't care. Ridiculousness just seems to be the direction this game is going.

So OD curse is cool.
