i'll see you at Final round kurum!!!! lol.

Nice job showing up????

Dizzy vs Millia

Anywayz I played a Dizzy (Hotnix) in the tournament and the guy was actually really good (had a couple of win streaks in casuals on some decent players, thing is I used to play Dizzy myself so I know how to exploit her weaknesses. I won the first match pretty handily so he ended up switching to Faust for the other matches.

The problem is he plays such a defensive Dizzy. He spent most of the match trying to run away and summon which just wasn't going to happen. Every time he tried to dry summon I got off a pin counter hit into a knockdown or an air combo that usually ends in knockdown. Millia's 2D also has mad range when I'm grounded and her J.D can also punish that stuff easy.

If you notice that Millia is in the air with her pin or even sometimes without the pin don't summon a fish at all period, it's not worth it. Your best option is jumping towards her and throwing out a j.s or j.p before she throws her pin (she also has another variation of throw on her pin that punishes players for jumping in at her :P) or just jumping blocking the pin and mash on throw on the way down if she doesn't adjust in time to you jumping. Also when you're grounded and she's in the air with pin it's sometimes safe to throw out the air pike because it will neutralize her pin altogether. In some cases the fish will also trade with the pin but that doesn't happen very often.

Once you've gotten Millia to totally whiff her pin you should try and feel out the player and see if he's going to run and go for pin first or continue to be aggressive. Really there isn't a bad option as far as I'm concerned, but I'd say forget the pin and keep going at you to keep Dizzy from summoning. I guess you can take it from there? If she does pick up the pin and you decide to summon, the player should do Secret Garden (her blue ball) to try and help restore control of the match to Millia.

If Millia is charging you down hard and you decide to summon a bubble and pop it to keep her away from you, she can roll under that and throw you when you land, so watch out for that. Also in your corner pressure don't leave any gaps at all because she'll also roll out of that. I'd also recommend using laser fish the entire match until you manage to score a knockdown or get her in the corner because she's going to be moving and jumping all over the place. I also think this matchup is a little stupid because Dizzy doesn't really have any options on wakeup to get out of Millia's oki game except jumping out of it or backdashing, which won't happen too often.

My match vs this Dizzy player was also recorded so If it's ever uploaded I'll link it here. AKA lost to Alex G (also recorded) though so the match is obviously winnable, I just think it's in Millia's favor.

I should've played some matches with P.R.O. when he came to our room. That guy has mad offense.

easy?! please explain. I wanna know why Ky has the honor of being one of Dizzys worst match ups.

nope it's supposed to be 5:5 and sometimes because of my friend stuborness on his match up it's become 6:4 on Dizzy advantage in my games :kitty:

and just like zaeris say + i'm being :psyduck: on his SE pressure that i able to kill him most of the time :v:

machtup ratings aren't solid unless both players are aware of all the advanteges and disadvantages of the characters. When both players know excatly waht to do then you can talk ratings. BTW anybody know if were ever getting a machtups sub-forum cause we got more thatn enougth info in this thread

So, back from Showdown 3, where I've played tons and tons of casuals. ATG reads my tick throw setups way too well. Damn Chipp :arg: Anyways, I've requested a matchup subforum now.

I wouldn't recommend it so much, seeing as he can hit you while the CSE is active, he might also go for a jump-in for mixup. In both cases that SB will get severely punished

Posted

dunno, my Ky Opponent love to 665k during CSE and doing it while i got knocked down. SB will guarantee a throw in that scenario (the 5k wasn't even came out :v:)... but if he space up with 2k... that's another knockdown for Dizzy (>_<)

I used to try to SB Venom's charged stinger aim > throw, which is hilarious if it works, but then he started doing max range 2d instead :( I hate Venom's 2d so much I've been thinking some against the Eddie matchup, but I don't have any local Eddies to try on, does anyone know how good 214D is against him? I'm thinking it should be a god send for killing the Shadow, but I'm unable to test it

My local Eddie wasn't really good all he know only Combos and ub but the match up is stupid btw i think of using Ice spike to kill Lil Eddie, i believe he can't react fast enough with anything that Dizzy can't block, on good spacing

Posted

Yea, I know ice spike is works, but that requires you have the right spacing in, and that you stay on the ground. The nice thing with FB bubble is you can toss it out from anywhere and it gives you a huge AoE that should take the shadow or at least force eddie to block and then you can start the lockdown / zoning in peace I played two eddies at showdown, one wasn't so protective of the shadow, but was more eager to get him in a position from where he could begin the rape. Against that kind of player you can ice spike the shadow pretty easily. But the other player was extremely protective of him, and that was really annoying with the drills and things always preventing me from hitting it.

so i played in a tourney againts an Eddie, i was wondering how to block his blocks strings effectivly, it seems like you have to guess between high/low several times and if you guess once wrong you eat a combo. Is there some sort of techinique to block his eddie effectively? Or are you suppossed to avoid getting caugth in that situation in the first place? Either way im fine with but i would jsut like to know all my options before i start formulating a strategy for that machtup

just the basic, IB the 1st hit of mawaru, u get a back dash and escape his pressure like Teyah said, if you're not to confident with it, block low all the time his overhead is only 6k,5d,and lil eddie d, there's nothing that u can't see, but in the mid of his block string he might try to command throw Dizzy, just hopes his spacing're lame, Dizzy should be able to counter throw this. forgot to add : yeah Dizzy should not to get caught in it and watch her height when you try to do cross up games Eddie has stupid 6hs,2hs and lil eddie 2hs option to nail her with stuff

Posted

yeah i thougth so his 6k is a little fast, but i dint realize that you can block it on reaction. I jsut need a little practice(heads to training mode)

so i'm goin to a tourney this saturdfay and im alredy sure that im gonna have to play a good KY player, would one of you kind folks refresh my memory on the machtup?;)

opening the match: block, his f.s fuck up everything u got his tactic : Zone, zone, zone & corner Stun whatever rape :v: yours: Kill him before he chipping you to death notes: this can be a very frustrating match up on neutral, keep your cool, and knock down him... Dizzy can actually kill him in just one corner knock down don't summon a fish on neutral, focus on avoiding his se and make him spent tension on it, and throw out the air pike first before the fish in any chance given when you got knocked down and presured in the corner, BLOCK!!! don't try to counter any thing, and try to escape while being cautious with tick throw, his best setup is sd(frc), throw/SE(frc),run in throw, read that one and counter throw him know his block string, u can always ib-ing every special in it, to get the chance escaping his pressure common block string: 5k,s,s,2s/hs,special 6p,c.s,6k/6p,c.s,f.s,special u can't punish his GS on max distance even if u ib the moves, i'm not sure with sb any of his FB moves must be blocked with fd while mid air he got cross up games with his air back dash j.s, get use to it quick your 2s is godlike against any normals jump in and dash through his 2d and 2k :yaaay: forgot to add, your daa will clashed with his 6p, he will try to bait that one :vbang:

Wow you guys know the matchup well, they all make perfect sense from what I've seen of Ky. I almost never play any Kys so I'm fairly clueless, but I've played some that open with greed sever which you can counter with a j.P
