Almost everyone who is considered bad can kill Zato in 2 combos off of their heaviest counteirhit into a stun. Sin can do it in 1 hit without counterhit. That's not what defines tiers. We need consistency, not a once in a lifetime pyrotechnic occurrence that will never happen again.

Then go watch Hase. and he was not a Slayer player he used to play Anji.

People mashing and getting counterhit by the HS followup to dandy S which leads to tons of damage does not make Slayer a good character. Everyone can do this much damage of damage off of a similarly-unlikely starter if not more. I don't understand why we're even having this discussion. It's an unlikely starter. You don't judge chars based on their damage ceiling. If you did Sin would be SSSSSSSSS tier.

Looks like he started Slayer in AC because of the "Big Scrub Upper" and that Anji sucked.

That throw game at the end. Get played, testament

Edit: should have watched the first match before though. Do we really want that back in our video games? Lol

It took Slayer only two hits to finish the round.

how can he be that bad ?

Edit.

Your second statement left me totally speechless.

Not a fallacious argument at all, nope

Any opinions on Leo? He feels pretty solid close-up and forces you to guess correctly in order to get out of his stuff. He also doesnt get outright killed by zoners apparently, so...

Leo is okay. He has scary pressure but it's mostly frame traps so he's extremely fair compared to other rushdown characters. Faust destroys him. I wouldn't be surprised if Axl does either; Leo has tools to deal with projectile zoning but not pokes, he's too slow and has a very low jump.

I think Anji sucked more in #R compared to the rest of the cast...seemed incomplete actually based on what Zidane has told me about him, but that's beside the point.

He's still been playing Slayer for 7 years. That's still quite a time...

But yes, a funny coincidence that I thought you were talking about Taka, who was playing Anji in +R lol.

Yeah actually i wanted to say Taka but i went with Hase since he is the the best Slayer right now.

I never seen old matches for him but when i came across this video i said to my self "The best Xrd Slayers are all Anji players!?"

I started from Slash so i have no idea about other Reload characters beside the ones i play so you might be right about #R Anji.

High damage, pretty good oki with YRC H Graviert Würde, great mix-up in Brynhildr Stance.

Garbage neutral, has an extremely hard time dealing with zoners. (Kahn Schild allows him to reflect projectiles, yes, but it doesn't allow him to get in and actually deal damage.)

He's decent, but pretty gimmicky.

I really wish people wouldn't use the official names of moves in discussion. I don't know what the fuck "Graviert Wurde" is and having to research move names to follow discussions is annoying at best, frustrating at worst.

Those are the official names, you want the english translations.

There's a chance that the #R Anji player in that video vs Yukinose is not the same Hase who plays Slayer now. I deduced that from the katakana and hiragana written nicks.

People really think Potemkin is bottom tier? I have a 75% win ratio with him that I'm fairly proud of compared to trying almost everyone else in the cast and barely holding a 50% win ratio with them.

Maybe he just gels with me since he reminds me of a Urien style of character.

I sort of agree with this. Sort of in a nicer tone though lol. It's just easier for everyone, and technically it's already less to type so why go the long way. The less the move in question is described the less everyone on the room is going to get it.

Anyway, the translation is [4]6H.

I mean look at his handle tho :-/

Eh, grapplers tend to do well at lower levels due to doing so much damage off single hits.

When you start facing more people who are on point with their zoning you'll see what knocks him down the tiers the hard way, especially when so many other members of the cast have the tools to do it to him.

Grapplers are always better at early stages of a game and even better in laggy netcode. High level japanese players universally agree that Potemkin is one of the worst characters in the game. Play a decent player that abuses fuzzy jump offline and you'll understand quickly why Potemkin is bad.

I see little difference between using proper names and inputs. In either case, you have to have a basic understanding of the character: if you do, then you can use both, if you don't, then you can use neither. I would never be able to read Relius discussions because all his names sound the same and have very similar inputs. On the other hand, I don't remember Elphelt's Berry Pine input off the top of my head, but you can bet that everyone knows how it's called.

The difference is that the numpad notation has been the standard as far as discussions go in these communities for more than a decade. When I'm labbing a character that I don't main, I don't think of the character's moveset in terms of their official monikers but the inputs for the various attacks. It's a mnemonic that facilitates two things: it makes the moves easier to remember, which in turn, makes them easier to identify in discussions on forums.

i.e., I already know what actions [4]6H and H[6] perform, but I was forced to reference the wiki for both moves, because I'm not enough of a Leo fan to remember that they're called "Graviert Wurde" and "Brynhilder Stance" respectively.

I honestly think that it's not a hard rule that everyone follows: people call different moves differently, depending on whether the input or the name (or a nickname, like Millia's pin) is easier to understand. That said, Leo's charge specials are much easier to remember by inputs, mostly because they're, well, charge specials, so you have a rough idea of what they do from their inputs alone.

Anyways, this is getting a bit off-topic, so I'll stop here.

I didn't realize how much damage I was doing by referring to moves by their proper names.

I'm so sorry everyone.

Back on topic, characters that are easy to use will often feel a lot better than they actually.

By the way, Leo litterally shouts out the name of his specials every time he uses them. (Though this might not be the case if you're using Japanese voices.)
