Maybe you can add one more hit or something to do so? Mashed my old team and can't do nothing with them while Celica feels the most comfortable I still plan to use Makoto, but she might just be offline only and that depends how often I meet my own scene on the weekend whether we record or stream. There will also be some Celica in the mix.

I didn't write it in there because I don't have time to flesh out the descriptions, but it's worth noting for whoever does that ALL of her drive combinations have gaps in them except for 6D -> d. 6d and 6D -> d. 5d, and some of them are big enough to just jab out of. That, combined with nine of her ten drive moves being tremendously unsafe means that once you hit the D button, you will be hit by any character with an invincible move if you don't RC. Her drive is absolutely terrible.

Any findings I post here are taken directly from Skype, but I thought these things would be good to keep in mind since I haven't seen anyone touch on the specifics yet. They're most definetly important to keep in mind, so please don't forget! \>^</ Apparently, you can also backwards cancel from a 2C FC into 5B. You just need to delay it a liiiittle bit. Like, she gets a lot of damage from crouch confirms. Oh, 5k off of an OD cancel from 2C. 2.2k *2.2k off of 6A RC. Also, it seems that you can only RC 6A when she's with her belly on the floor. Not the tits. Overhead twice, like the best. 'till sweat drips from her chest. Near the corner it's sort of okay, since you can 5B 6B afterwards. Except you can only do one jB jC after. No two, or they'll flop out. You need to be sort of close near the corner. Like, when you're completely in the corner I think there's way more stuff you can do without meter. Okay, so I tried extending that 2C cOD combo... And with 50 meter it goes up to near 6k. There's still not really anything off of full health with a jump cancel... Like, it's too short. Just a bit too short. I think if you eat a full combo off of anything, you can go in and deal massive damage. Yeah. At 90% health, you can convert. OH. THIS IS INTERESTING. Apparently, if you already cancel into a 214[C] while OD runs out, you still get the 214[C] And that's at 90% left. Another thing. You can do 5B/2B 5C 3C 2D6DD... RC jA jB jc jB jC j214A. It's just a silly conversion, but it surprisingly works. No wait, I thought this worked. It still might, let me try a microdash. Yeah, so... 2C jcOD 5B/2B 3C 2D5D[1]. Like, when it groundbounces on the first hit, you can CT. I'm not sure what it adds for damage, but it does 3.3k up to that part. With near empty health. You can also do 2DD CT. But you'll be too low on height. Not even sure if this is practical. What about midscreen? OH WOW. You can get 2.7k damage off of all 4 hits off 2A in the corner. you can halfass a 5D 2D combo and leave it at that. Any other D will miss... sadly. It's stupid, but it's just funny to see. If they mash, you get a free throw. One thing to note. Some characters end up closer to Celica after a throw > 214[C] While others land a bit further away. Works: Mu, Celica, Relius, Makoto, Taokaka, Hazama, Hakumen, Kagura, Ragna, Litchi, Tager Terumi, Azrael. Amane, Carl, Arakune, Tsubaki, Kokonoe, Platinum, Bang, Valkenhayn, Nu, Lambda. Doesn't work: Jin, Noel, Rachel. Talking about the throw > 214[C] combo. Works: Mu, Celica, Relius, Makoto, Taokaka, Hazama, Hakumen, Kagura, Bullet, Litchi, Tager, Terumi, Azrael, Izayoi, Amane, Arakune, Carl, Tsubaki, Platinum, Valkenhayn, Bang, Nu, Lambda. Doesn't work: Ragna, Noel, Jin, Rachel, Kokonoe, Talking about throw 214[C] 6C 214[C]. Welp, answer found. So against Kokonoe, Rachel and Noel you miss out on 100 damage, but this combo works against them just fine. *That being: throw 214 5B 6B 5C[4] 3C 2D5DD/6D Eh... 3.8k off of a throw in the corner? *That being: throw 214[C] 6C 214[C] 2D5D5D/6D Anyways, with OD you can extend the damage up to 5.3. *That being" throw cOD 214[C] 6C 214[C] 2D5D6D 632146C. So yeah, quite a few things of note, and sticking them in here until either someone tells me to move it or move it themselves.
Balguna Posted June 26, 2015 Posted June 26, 2015 Incidentally, here's an 'easy' solution for challenge 15 (4k+ damage with CT): Push dummy into corner > OD > Crush Trigger > 6B > 5C (all hits) > 2D > 4/6D > 4/6D > 21456C Does 4079 damage.

The wiki should also probably mention that in OD, her drives become cancellable; first and second hits can be cancelled into specials, and third hit can be cancelled into distortions and Astral.

You need to delay the 2D followup so that the opponent is seen as already on the ground when it hits, rather than being thrown into the ground. Basically just wait as long as possible before letting it go, without you know... being too late.

Thinking about picking up Celica because I'm always attracted to low-tier characters. (Heard one of the CEO commentators say she was trash, instant attraction) Can someone provide a kind of sum-up on her strengths / weaknesses / playstyle? Maybe give me some suggestions on where to get started with her?

It's especially important for brand new characters; with Hakumen you have multiple past games to draw experience from, but with Celica, even I have no clue where to start if I was going to play her. I mean, you guys managed fine learning on your own, but the wiki is supposed to help enhance that process, so. Which reminds me, gotta update the Hakumen one too soon.
Raidhyn Posted July 16, 2015 Posted July 16, 2015 It seems like Celica doesn't have a lot of love right now. :/ I spent sometime with her last night and it seems a big part of the reason people don't like her is because she doesn't have any safe blockstrings off her drive which is where most of her mix ups come from. Additionally she seems to be negative on almost everything so I can see why a lot of people don't consider her viable. However the Rainbows and Robots drive button is making me wanting to play her still, so here's a couple of things I noticed. Keep in mind, I'm pretty casual as far as BB is concerned, so don't expect this stuff to work at high level play. From playing last night I figured out that 6A is really gimmicky because it hits High / Low. If your opponent is doing a bad job at blocking this you can abuse it quite a bit. In the corner you can 2A into a combo although the time is a little tight. Elsewhere you can RC and go into any combo string off a 2A. Her drive buttons come with built in mixups, but you can also use 236B for an Overhead. I don't think it's safe on block, but using this after a blocked 5B - 5C was pretty useful. If your opponent likes to run in at you with an attack (i.e. every Terumi / Ragna) you can double jump and j.D into 5D-5D-5D for decent damage. Her j.C is a pretty decent air-to-air but I haven't found a lot of options off of it. Is her 236C a true DP? I want to say it is as I was able to wake up counter-hit off of it a few times. Still learning the counter hit followups but it seems like you can do a lot off of it based on all the combos listed in the combo thread off CH 236C. It also works as an anti-air but isn't completely reliable as the hitbox seems to have pretty low active frames. Could just be cause I suck tho. She is super fun to play though. I'll probably stick with her for a while and see if I can't improve my game at all. She seems like she wants to be played as a rush down but just doesn't have a lot of good blockstrings to do that with. If anyone has any advice for Celica pressure that would be great to hear.
UnsafeUnblockables Posted July 16, 2015 Posted July 16, 2015 Not really sure about this but any D normal>2D>6D should be gap less and the 6D ender can't be punished without IB and the hitboxes on her normals make it easy just to keep people out of the range of hitting you so if you can end blockstrings so that your far away from them at the end they can be safe
