Kairos Posted December 19, 2012 Posted December 19, 2012 That's a real let down about the netcode. Really hoping it's added in a future patch, as of right now I don't have a way to et to any local scenes, aha. With that said I might pick it up still. I've really been wanting to try this game out.
TekkamanArk Posted December 19, 2012 Posted December 19, 2012 I'll have to make an HK account to download this then. No internet is kind of bad, but being able to play it + full English is nice. There's no real scene for fighters out here in the Carolinas, but, I just adore them.
Hecatom Posted December 19, 2012 Posted December 19, 2012 Wait what? The game is out and it only cost $12 o_O I am going to buy it today when i got home. BTW where do i can buy psn cards for a HK account Too bad about the lack of online play :/
FerrellJ Posted December 19, 2012 Posted December 19, 2012 BTW where do i can buy psn cards for a HK account Too bad about the lack of online play :/ I bought one here: www.pcgamesupply.com The "$12" is a little misleading- the exchange rate for $HK92 is indeed 12 real dollars but if you're buying cards, you are obviously buying a product in increments- I paid $25 for my $HK150 card.
SolxBaiken Posted December 19, 2012 Posted December 19, 2012 (edited) I'm still confident netplay is coming, again they did bring it up a few times in the past and how they wanted to make sure it was stable. Also just so you guys know, this is rough Engrish, not sure if it'd be up to snuff for international release. Oh and you oddly enough still had to beat Story mode to play with Celia II and Kudalk in VS mode despite being able to use them everywhere else...lol Honestly it's a very bare minimum port, not bad, just enough to get the job done. Training mode is extremely bare bones, but then again I've been spoiled by other fighters wealth of options maybe? I wish more "new" was brought into the console port, but I'm happy to just be able to play the game. Also still on the look out for these 2 hidden characters apparently lol. EDIT: Oh sexy, when you beat Story/Arcade with a character, you unlock their stage in the gallery, which allows you to listen to their theme, a nice touch! Edited December 19, 2012 by SolxBaiken
TekkamanArk Posted December 19, 2012 Posted December 19, 2012 Anyone catch those 2 new characters? Or do you think it was a math error? I'm still waiting on my HK PSN $$$ to get it (and probably Dragon Force too)
SolxBaiken Posted December 19, 2012 Posted December 19, 2012 I fear they may have included Celia II (Boss) and Kudlak (Boss) in the count... Technically Kudlak, Celia II (Boss), and Kudlak (Boss) are all new to the PS3 ver and previously unplayable, but the latter 2 would make me cry a bit as I kinda do want more EX characters like MG Hikaru v.v
TekkamanArk Posted December 19, 2012 Posted December 19, 2012 (edited) When I first saw the game a while back, I decided I wanted to pick up Vein and Kagari. Beyond those 2, I have no idea who I want to use, and will have to practice a bit with everyone. EDIT: Also, what is the difference in Hikaru and MG Hikaru? Edited December 19, 2012 by TekkamanArk
SolxBaiken Posted December 19, 2012 Posted December 19, 2012 I still haven't decided on who I want to focus on, debating between Cerberus, Celia II, and Vein mainly, but I'm clearing everyone's story so if someone else fits me more maybe... Also MG Hikaru is just a completely new character, different Special and Supers and even some Normals.
caiooa Posted December 19, 2012 Posted December 19, 2012 I fear they may have included Celia II (Boss) and Kudlak (Boss) in the count... Technically Kudlak, Celia II (Boss), and Kudlak (Boss) are all new to the PS3 ver and previously unplayable, but the latter 2 would make me cry a bit as I kinda do want more EX characters like MG Hikaru v.v celia 2 was playable before mg hikaru... i don't remeber the number of the version, but it's easy to find movies with her.
SolxBaiken Posted December 19, 2012 Posted December 19, 2012 I know she was lol (it was 1.01, the latest ver being 1.02 which added MG Hikaru and a few balance changes) but Celia II - Kai and Celia II are 2 "different" character, with the latter having never been playable until the PSN ver. Same with Kudlak - Sin and Kudlak with the exception of neither one available until now.
doubleboiledx Posted December 19, 2012 Posted December 19, 2012 For $12, I'd say it's well worth the price. No netplay at the moment sucks, but everything else about the game is really solid. All the characters feel quite fun, and after trying out the entire roster I'm still not sure who I want to stick with. The flow of matches is smooth and inputs don't feel too strict, making it easy to jump right in. Having it in English is nice even though the translations are kind of funny and awkward sounding. Lots of stages to choose from with cool backgrounds, and the music is great as has been mentioned. So yeah, I hope they hurry up and add netplay soon and don't just forget about this. If it had netplay I would have gladly paid $30 for it.
Mightfo Posted December 19, 2012 Posted December 19, 2012 (edited) This game seems quite cool. I really like most of the movesets and it is generally an interesting mix of more traditional fighters and anime.(Good walkspeed, good "anime" projectiles, can only airblock specials and air normals, pretty flexible chains with large cancel windows, normals seem more kof/sf to me although not completely, etc) Going to have trouble getting a scene going for it though due to asia PSN only so far..hopefully it gets on US PSN. Keo-bas Posted December 19, 2012 Posted December 19, 2012 This game is so worth it. Sent from my SCH-R720 using Tapatalk 2
SolxBaiken Posted December 20, 2012 Posted December 20, 2012 Man, so much potential for new characters, specifically in B Endings. Celia III (hell a whole Celia army!), "Partner" (would be such a waste of a cool design), Kurenai (*gasp*). Story may be paper thin but it's nice to fully understand what's going on lol, and I think I'm starting to get the hang of things but I won't be doing any serious training till I'm done Treasure Trophy Hunting
TekkamanArk Posted December 20, 2012 Posted December 20, 2012 (edited) Ugh, I forgot about this. I ordered my HK PSN card as a digital on Play-Asia, and I forgot about it, but they are awful about that. It will take them about a week to get this to me, which I don't understand since they aren't even shipping anything. EDIT: lol almost immediately after making this post, I get my code. Now i'm downloading it, and since I had gotten a $200 HK card, downloading Dragon Force (PS2) and The Last Blade (PS1) as well. Happy times, i've been wanting to play Dragon Force again forever ^_^ Edited December 20, 2012 by TekkamanArk
S-Alpha Posted December 20, 2012 Posted December 20, 2012 The question is, when will they be putting it on the JP PSN store? I didn't hear jack about the game dropping until it did on the HK store, and I've got excess JP PSN cash sitting around so dumping on the HK version feels like a bit of a waste, all told.
TekkamanArk Posted December 20, 2012 Posted December 20, 2012 Considering the company is not Japanese, it makes some amount of sense that Japan didn't get first dibs. They also did not post it on PSN through SCE Japan, but rather SCE Taiwan, so it's likely other Asian countries have access to it.
AtTheGates Posted December 20, 2012 Author Posted December 20, 2012 http://wiki.livedoor.jp/chaoscode/ japanese wiki. also, the game doesn't have damage numbers anywhere, neither in practice mode nor in actual matches. time to count those pixels -_-
TekkamanArk Posted December 20, 2012 Posted December 20, 2012 (edited) What decides if you get B ending or not? EDIT: I think the First Timer trophy is bugged? I just beat Story on difficulty 4 and didn't get it. Maybe it requires no continues? But it doesn't say that. Edited December 20, 2012 by TekkamanArk
SolxBaiken Posted December 20, 2012 Posted December 20, 2012 What decides if you get B ending or not? EDIT: I think the First Timer trophy is bugged? I just beat Story on difficulty 4 and didn't get it. Maybe it requires no continues? But it doesn't say that. I'm not 100% sure on the specifics, but you need to activate the "Special Stage" which occurs after the 3rd fight if done correctly. For the sake of running through everyone's story mode quickly I currently have my game set to 1 round. Originally I thought it was a score related thing as I got my first one by mistake, however it appears you might just have to get a certain number of Super KOs, in order to make sure I Super KO all 3 of the first opponents, however I have still activated the Sp. Stage by only S.KOing 2 of the first 3. But yeah so long as you get the Sp. Stage you are on the "B route", even if you use a continue. I do believe First Timer does require you to have no continues, but again not 100% sure.
TekkamanArk Posted December 20, 2012 Posted December 20, 2012 Then I probably won't get that achievement for a little bit. My only continues were on Celia II and Kudlak, but I had to take a few on Kudlak, just one on Celia II.
drzero7 Posted December 20, 2012 Posted December 20, 2012 HK version is the best isnt it? I mean, it's english translated while for Japan version when they get it, won't be translated. Any place where I can see the combo listing and good move/frame data/etc. for this game for each char?
drzero7 Posted December 20, 2012 Posted December 20, 2012 http://wiki.livedoor.jp/chaoscode/ Can someone like translate this thing. Can't read wapanese, and if I google, translate, it's still not that clear. Like, I'm curious to know, WHICH of the 4 moves is good to add for each char? (Along with should I choose run or dash for each char)
SolxBaiken Posted December 20, 2012 Posted December 20, 2012 There's no reason for them to remove the "Engrish" option in the Japanese release, products released in the Asian territories are required to list available languages that's all. And LOLOL if you think someone is going to straight up translate the entire JP wiki D: things will happen as they happen, or the efforts for the English wiki will start up again (more likely) so you're just going to have to wait. As for which skills and movement types to select, it really is open ended, the characters are more than capable on their own, it's more based on your playstyle (unless you just want to copy pasta, but where's the fun in not giving it all a shot). Alternatively you can just ask about what you want to know (fastest response) or you can watch videos (variable).
