FerrellJ Posted December 9, 2013 Posted December 9, 2013 - The corner not being the corner is really scary for me. I'll have to watch the floor or background a lot. I was having issues with this as well early on- the solution is to just leave the sidebars on.
Star-Demon Posted December 9, 2013 Posted December 9, 2013 Yay I have a BnB and almost-oki! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uPa5d9kgG_A
jinxhand Posted December 10, 2013 Posted December 10, 2013 (edited) @Star-Demon - Hermes has stronger combos... I'll post what I put down some pages ago: Throw > IAD > j.B > j.D > land > quick dash> 5A > 5C > JC > j.A > j.C (1 hit) > j.D~214D ---> 6610 dmg Hope that helps out... Had to edit the quote a bit... The combo is meterless, but if you so desire, you can 214BD to add more dmg... This can be done anywhere... I'd try to work with setups involving 22D and/or lightning bit traps... Star-Demon Posted December 10, 2013 Posted December 10, 2013 I'll try it next time, but I'm having a lot of trouble with that throw AID stuff because there's no real jump cancels, only super. I might need a long time to do that one.

I might need a long time to do that one. So I think the combo should be rewritten like this: Throw > IAD > j.B > j.D > land > quick dash> 5A > 5C > SJC > j.A > j.C (1 hit) > j.D~214D ---> 6610 dmg For the IAD portion, all you need to do is tap 9 then 6 to go straight into IAD. It's not as hard as it seems. It may take a few tries though. You actually have enough time to complete the combo with a delayed IAD. I've tried it awhile ago, and it works. I'll try to record it and share it sometime tonight. EDIT: here it is Edited December 11, 2013 by jinxhand
Star-Demon Posted January 7, 2014 Posted January 7, 2014 Wow. This is much easier, LOL. Dat Crazy voice, too. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rqxnj9Xr3fU @bnb: Thanks - I'll try that when I get time. That actually looks a little easier than trying to 2C and SJC.

Got any Catherine combos with bell starters?
Wild Candy Posted January 9, 2014 Posted January 9, 2014 I thought I'd give Chaos Code a try, and I thought I'd ask. Which characters tend to have the better Okizeme and Mix Up games. Those are the characters I tend to lean towards. (I mostly use Rachel in BlazBlue, and prefer to use Millia in Guilty Gear)
TD Posted January 9, 2014 Posted January 9, 2014 cthylla or however you spell her name. lots of projectiles to oki with. she sort of looks like rachel too. but not as cute.
FatalDMG Posted January 9, 2014 Posted January 9, 2014 Started streaming this game and working on Kagari and Rui. Hopefully I can run some offline casuals with some Japanese players here in the meantime, since no online
Star-Demon Posted January 15, 2014 Posted January 15, 2014 (edited) I brought someone over today to play offline. It was mashy, scrubby, and oh man how do I play this? Like, I mean seriously - How do I play this game? Like - blocking and punishing Cerberus? Rui? How? When? Nothing makes sense right now. EDIT: Today's session highlights http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IMZnvBkjLKo Edited January 15, 2014 by Star-Demon
Grimsley-San Posted January 15, 2014 Posted January 15, 2014 Does anyone know any high-level Japanese players that are good with Catherine or Kait & Sith
OutlawVinegar Posted January 15, 2014 Posted January 15, 2014 Catherine or Kait & Sith Catherine, I can't help you. There was an excellent Cait & Sith from a ways back on the 'Select Your Bounce' YT channel. ...Here it is. The name is 'Jim Mech'. I don't know if Chaos Code has an active enough scene to find many matches of particular players overall, though. Star-Demon Posted January 15, 2014 Posted January 15, 2014 (edited) I really like C2K's combo options - Playing her yesterday revealed that she can probably combo off all sorts of stuff, even if it's just to a super. Hermes sadly is SOL. Doesn't even have the corner carry Celia 2K does. I still have no clue how blocking is so disadvantageous when the dashing is so strict. I wish I had frame data to compare characters. Cerberus and Rui are just so LOL. Edited January 15, 2014 by Star-Demon

I was trying to compile all of the frame data for this game, but it's kind of a long process, and I only got as far as Hermes. Came up with a lot of weird numbers. c.D is her fastest normal at 6F, for some reason.

(I mostly use Rachel in BlazBlue, and prefer to use Millia in Guilty Gear)Imo, Catherine's playstyle somewhat reminds me of Millia, despite their move-sets being almost nothing alike. They're both fast, have tricky air movement (Catherine can use his 214A/C to change directions in the air and cancel out of it with a normal), both take you to the corner to run their oki (Though Catherine's is not as strong, he uses meaty EX Bells somewhat like Millia uses disks on wakeup), and they both can combo-rinse-repeat it. Go to the arcade and play NSC! Does anyone know any high-level Japanese players that are good with Catherine or Kait & SithI've seen a couple good ones a while ago, but I don't remember their names. I might be able to find them again. Edited January 16, 2014 by DubiousCurvLoop

Celerity Posted January 18, 2014 Posted January 18, 2014 How are you getting this info? Just counting frames myself with a capture card.
BlackJustin13 Posted January 25, 2014 Posted January 25, 2014 I heard the PS3 version of Chaos Code didn't have online support,is this true?
TAI-X Posted January 25, 2014 Posted January 25, 2014 About as soon as Shenmue III. They had their chance to patch it in, they didn't deliver. The port is already full of bugs and has dire loading times; FK obviously hasn't the faintest idea of how to program netcode.
jinxhand Posted January 31, 2014 Posted January 31, 2014 You've got to take in account that the team is rather smaller than the usual team. SNK struggled with their netcode, and look how long it took for them to get it right, even though the netcode for the psn games were legit. There's also this standard for most game devs have regarding netcode. They'd rather develop their own rather than "borrowing" from other companies. Regardless, it's rather folly I think to not borrow something that has proven itself time and time again (GGPO). Doing so might be more cost effective than creating netcode from scratch, testing the code, and then correcting any issues. I'm not saying GGPO is the be-all-end-all to netcode issues in 2d fighters. All I'm saying is that it could be a decent way for indie companies to get their game online without having to put themselves under in the process...
redsilversnake Posted January 31, 2014 Posted January 31, 2014 There's also this standard for most game devs have regarding netcode. They'd rather develop their own rather than "borrowing" from other companies. IIRC, Tenryo said that FKD actually can't use, say, ASW's netcode without paying them a hefty amount of money. And considering how small they are, that wouldn't exactly be a wise decision, which is why they're weighing their options. Last I checked, GGPO is one of those options, but only time will tell what they decide on.
TAI-X Posted January 31, 2014 Posted January 31, 2014 GGPO has the stigma of being associated with emulation and piracy, and a lot of companies won't touch it because of that.
