Overcoming Zappa's Sword

By Guest, in Home,

After the first look of Zappa's new sword for Guilty Gear Accent Core Plus R, many of us knew it was strong even saying it was broken. This video attempts to help people deal with playing against the sword and also offers some ideas for Zappa players to better their close range game. Enjoy!

Need more Airdash (Anime) fighters in your life? Having difficulty working through the facets of this particular genre? Interested in spreading the word, starting your own scene, or teaching others? Then you are in luck! From the creators of Guilty Bits comes: Airdash Academy (Understanding Airdashers). Hit the jump for more information on this new series coming in Q1 2014!
[PRBREAK][/PRBREAK]

Novril (tataki) & Carlos "Specs" Alexandre have been hard at work over the past year bringing you top tier quality introductory videos in the form of Guilty Bits. The acclaimed series has put them on the map as the premier duo when it comes to presenting Guilty Gear information to the masses in order to foster interest as well as knowledge.

Now, the team has their sights on not just Guilty Gear, but ALL Airdashers out there with their new video series Airdash Academy (Understanding Airdashers). This series will see collaborations from the combined communities of Dustloop, MeltyBread, and Homingcancel; and will aim to break down the sometimes complicated and daunting systems some Airdash games have a reputation for, in order for those new to the genre to digest as much clean, forthright information as possible.

It will be an interesting time indeed as well as a prime opportunity to introduce a new series devoted solely to Airdashers, especially with the US release of BBCP looming around the corner in March, the long awaited (still waiting) NA PSN release of GGAC+R, and GGXrd coming to Japanese arcades in February.

Check out the short trailer below and be sure to be on the lookout on Novril's YouTube channel for this exciting new project coming soon!

Guilty Bits Episode 1: Eddie (Remastered)

By Guest, in Home,

Novril (Tataki) & Carlos "Specs" Alexandre have remastered their first episode of Guilty Bits, which focused on Eddie, in order to bring his portion of the episode up to speed to the nuances of GGAC+R. Compared to previous episodes which were between 4-6 minutes long, this one clocks in at over 11 minutes, and is chock full of valuable info if you are looking to pick up Eddie or up your game in +R.

Check out the video after the jump and be sure to subscribe to their YouTube channel for more Guilty Bits and Guilty Gear info.

Pen_Ninja brings us a video showing some advanced Kokonoe setplay tactics. He includes combos specifically for corner carry, okizeme set ups, and character specific black hole set ups. Later in the video, he demonstrates a blockstring loop and shows how it can be achieved from a round start hit. If you're looking to get more out of Kokonoe and maximize on your oki set ups, this is a great place to start.

BBCP Valkenhayn Wolf Movement Tutorial

By Guest, in Home,

I have created another very useful tutorial which teaches players how to move around in Valkenhayn's wolf form which is usually very difficult and daunting, especially for those new to Valkenhayn. This is fundamental for any Valkenhayn player and it's important to know how and when to get in. It provides a variety of basic approach options, using offensive, defensive and evasive movements. Remember these just cover the main movements so feel free to get creative and mix and match movement options! Tired of those 1 Dimensional approach options? Wondering how to save on wolf meter whilst moving around?! This is the video for you! For more information on wolf movement and saving wolf meter please check the Valkenhayn strategy guide here.

VSAV Punishing Anakaris BackDash

By Guest, in Home,

Anakaris has few defensive options. No counter-throw, no Tech-Hit & his Guard-Cancel cost 1-bar, It's punishable on hit. However, he has one very strong tool, the ability to swap sides and leave the corner w/ very little risk. Here are my ideas on how to punish this escape option.

Enjoy.

    • I definitely had to build a lot of muscle memory but also hand strength in my left hand. I don't play WASD keyboard movement games so when I was first starting on leverless I literally did not have the hand strength to consistently move my fingers quickly for motions, and my hand got tired easily. That took some getting used to.   I've been on leverless for ~3 years now, and although there's still quite a lot of stuff I'm better at on stick (which I played on for 14 years, so it would be surprising if I could close the gap quickly!) I generally prefer it overall and can do most of my stuff equally well or better. The only thing I really struggle with is very fast and clean half circle motions.   I play on an ergonomic ver~l leverless controller now. It's the most comfortable controller I've ever used, and is much easier on my aging hands than anything else I've used. I still play some games on stick but I very strongly prefer my vertical leverless for most stuff.
    • I had actually made a thread about D&B on the Shmups.System11 Forums a while back, but nobody responded.   I actually do not own this game as of yet but it looks interesting and has some connections to Guilty Gear and BlazBlue, so I thought it might be fun discussing it as a topic.   I technically disagree with Ishiwatari’s view that Azure Grimoire and the Tome of Origin are the same book, but from a creative non-lore standpoint I guess you could say they are similar.   Someone also pointed out “William” who seems to share a similar hobby to Axl Low.   An interview with Ishiwatari seems to suggest that his writing is based on a “possible past” and a “possible future” and that D&B is set in the former (with GG’s plot I assume as the latter).   Anyway just think of this as a catch all thread for Damon & Baby!
