BBCP Tsubaki j.236A Orb Oki Tutorial

By Guest, in Home,

Calling all Tsubaki players! Exclusive to CP, Tsubaki has a new form of oki consisting of using j.236A. Not only is the setup reliable but it's also simple to do, so I highly recommend using it whenever you get the chance! It provides some insight on various mixup options and ways in which you can deal with the opponent's tech once they begin to get used to the setup. Being so efficient with very little to no cost, it's definitely something that's worth taking a look. For more information please look at the Tsubaki Strategy Guide in the Tsubaki forum!

Regarded to be not only one of the strongest but also most difficult facets of Guilty Gear Accent Core Plus R, Slashbacks (the GG stylized parry system mechanic) have been largely relegated to the most hardcore of players due to its arguably lopsided high risk-high reward. Here to alleviate some concerns new and seasoned players might have on the mechanic are Alphakami & TenKaiGear bringing us two videos breaking down the "Slashback Double Strum" technique as well as the "Slashback Splitting" OS. Check these vids out and use the knowledge to up your Guilty Gear game. Parry On!

DiNyc3 of FlyNationTV has uploaded a proof of concept video that pits Bullets with a safe jump setup against a plethora of the cast with various reversal options...all failing horribly. If you play Bullet and want to lock your wakeup oki game down tight, check out the video, turn your headphones up to the smooth background music, and proceed to punish baited reversals with the utmost prejudice.

If you dig what you saw and would like to see more content from FlyNationTV as well as DiNyc3, complete with sexy background beats to accompany it, be sure to subscribe to the official YouTube Channel.

BBCP Valkenhayn Wolf Brake Tutorial

By Guest, in Home,

I have created a very useful tutorial which teaches players how to utilise Valkenhayn's new 'wolf brake' (not break!) command! It's a very useful technique which allows for instant overheads and various other things, such as [w]5C loops! In addition, it also features some anti-Valk tips! Brace yourselves Valk players! So whether you're having trouble with it, you're new to the technique, or you're not even a Valkenhayn player, I suggest taking a look!

Are you new to the latest installment of BlazBlue?
Happen to be interested in picking up the game and looking for a quick boost to get you started?
Or are you simply lost on your friend's jargon when he's showing you the ropes?

The humble folks of D-Tier present the BlazBlue Chrono Phantasma Basic System Mechanics Video. It covers the basics from the introduction of the numpad notation to new game mechanics such as Crush Triggers and Overdrives.

We recommend this video to the beginners looking for place to start, or intermediate players looking to refresh themselves with the new mechanics.

Esteban Martinez, creator and videographer for Hold Back To Block; a FGC affiliated content-driven website and establishment, is looking for your help in creating their premier feature documentary titled - FGC: Rise of the Fighting Game Community. This is a kickstarter backed endeavor, so to learn more about HBTB as well as the documentary and what it is all about, hit the jump to read on!
[PRBREAK][/PRBREAK]

FGC: Rise of the Fighting Game Community is "A feature documentary that takes an in-depth look at the culture of competitive fighting games known as the "FGC"...". As such, Hold Back To Block is looking for the support of the FGC in order to make this massive undertaking a success as well as an experience that we can all enjoy as Fighting Game fans.

Esteban and HBTB have recently made a name for themselves within the FGC with their "Climbing the Ladder" series, as well as their ongoing high-quality interview series with some of the FGC's most notable players, personalities, commentators, and tournament organizers; including two interviews with Dustloop's own Lord Knight.

As of this writing, the kickstarter is up and running with 33 backers so far that have a combined pledge of $1,962 on the way to a stated goal of $9,000. With 27 days left to go for the kickstarter, there is still plenty of time to get involved in this project and contribute actively in a positive light towards the FGC.
With NEC XIV looming over the horizon in the coming weeks, those of you lucky enough to attend can get the chance to actively inquire as to what this project is all about in person, as well as what you can do to help.

Here is an introductory video for the kickstarter project and what they are looking to accomplish -

    • I definitely had to build a lot of muscle memory but also hand strength in my left hand. I don't play WASD keyboard movement games so when I was first starting on leverless I literally did not have the hand strength to consistently move my fingers quickly for motions, and my hand got tired easily. That took some getting used to.   I've been on leverless for ~3 years now, and although there's still quite a lot of stuff I'm better at on stick (which I played on for 14 years, so it would be surprising if I could close the gap quickly!) I generally prefer it overall and can do most of my stuff equally well or better. The only thing I really struggle with is very fast and clean half circle motions.   I play on an ergonomic ver~l leverless controller now. It's the most comfortable controller I've ever used, and is much easier on my aging hands than anything else I've used. I still play some games on stick but I very strongly prefer my vertical leverless for most stuff.
    • I had actually made a thread about D&B on the Shmups.System11 Forums a while back, but nobody responded.   I actually do not own this game as of yet but it looks interesting and has some connections to Guilty Gear and BlazBlue, so I thought it might be fun discussing it as a topic.   I technically disagree with Ishiwatari’s view that Azure Grimoire and the Tome of Origin are the same book, but from a creative non-lore standpoint I guess you could say they are similar.   Someone also pointed out “William” who seems to share a similar hobby to Axl Low.   An interview with Ishiwatari seems to suggest that his writing is based on a “possible past” and a “possible future” and that D&B is set in the former (with GG’s plot I assume as the latter).   Anyway just think of this as a catch all thread for Damon & Baby!
    • some doodles from the other month about trying to play fighting games with social anxiety lol   --------------------       --------------------     --------------------
