We proudly present the trailer for Ultimate Montreal Air Dashers

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=495v5xj7OQE

UMAD is a tournament held in Montreal, Canada, on June 8th, featuring Blazblue, Persona 4 Arena, and Guilty Gear as the main events (we'll run the most recent version available to us). The event's venue is Foonzo, a video game lounge/bar, and it is an important part of this tournament's experience.

We would also like to confirm that there will be Gundam EXVS 2v2 at UMAD this year! We tested this at Foonzo with a wired connection for over an hour, it was good and there were no disconnects.

The other planned side tournaments are
-Melty Blood Actress Again Current Code
-King of Fighters 13
-Aquapazza
-Chaos Code
-Vampire Saviour
-Arcana Heart 3

The stream will be at : http://www.twitch.tv/bibiquadium

Shoutouts to Heartlessprinny for his hard work on the trailer

Results of Final Round XVI

By Guest, in Home,

Final Round had a great turn-out this year with 96 entrants for Persona 4 Arena and 32 entrants each for Guilty Gear and Blazblue. Each tournament had incredibly hype moments - even Abegen entered Guilty Gear with his incredible Potemkin! Hit the jump to see the results.

Arc System Works' Toshimichi Mori recently participated in a game developer's panel/interview "Playstation Meeting 2013", in which reps from various gaming companies were fielded with questions and scenarios regarding the looming release of Sony's Playstation 4. Hit the jump for a translated excerpt from the interview.
[PRBREAK][/PRBREAK]

In one particular segment of note, Mori states the company's upcoming prospects for the PS4 stating:

While we cannot give a specific title name or other concrete info at this time, we definitely want to do it (create a ftg for PS4). We are a fighting game company, so we always are creating or wanting to create content. Actually, Guilty Gear was created with the Dreamcast hardware in mind, and when we were initially beginning development on the (first) Blazblue, coincidentally the Playstation 3 hardware was made available (dev kit). Every time there is a new console generation turning point, we (Arc System Works) are seemingly always creating something new for it. This is actually part of our business strategy.

The interview with Mori-san covers other interesting tidbits as well, such as the memory limitations of the PS3 and previous console generations and how the company went about overcoming these setbacks in creating fighting game content; which are notorious for requiring a large amount of dedicated memory, as well as the PS4's "share button" integration possibilities with fighting game titles. The total length of the panel/interview is 6 pages long, and a very interesting read if you can brave the wall of Japanese text.

This news comes as a first for a fighting game company of note to explicitly express interest or intention of developing a title for the Playstation 4. Let us know what you think about this revelation and sound off in discussion down in the comment section below!

Recently, French Dustloop members Linkexelo and Ben did a short interview with Ryuusei; one of the best Blazblue (Carl) players in Japan. This is a great read for anyone looking to get some more insight into the current state of the Japanese Blazblue: Chrono Phantasma scene, and Ryuusei even goes as far as to offer his thoughts on the American and European Blazblue scenes, as well as his top 5 (and more) current Blazblue players!

Hi everybody !

Today, I'm here with a very special present: an interview with Ryuusei ! This interview was made last week by myself and another french player: Ben.
I have translated the interview in English but, because of my bad english, I'm sure that there are a lot of mistakes, so sorry guys !

Here is the interview: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1oiSXpqeALyHRTr4IGzSQXX_wf6QHY5DMT_AETrF2DNM/edit

Don't hesitate to give me your feedbacks, Ryuusei himself wants to have these feedbacks ! We'll transmit the most interesting this week-end. Enjoy !

The writers over at Siliconera recently interviewed with Minoru Kidooka, the president of Arc System Works. Minoru talks about their recently opened North American office, Arc System Works USA, as well as English releases for titles such as Guilty Gear XX Accent Core Plus R for PS Vita and BlayzeBloo: Clone Phantasma. There's quite a bit of interesting info so make sure to check it out!

Fellow members Elochai and Bace have joined forces to bring you this spectacular combo video. It features a lot of devastating fatal counter combos and doesn't fail to show a little style too!

There's definately a lot of practical content there and it's worth trying out!

Welcome the new staff!

By Guest, in Home,

Thanks everyone who applied for the positions. We had a lot of great applications to choose from. Sadly we can't pick everyone so as promised we have our first three article mods. Everyone give a nice welcome to Mynus, SansProtocol, and Eshi! Please remember to check out the front page more often and subscribe to Dustloop on facebook and twitter!

Remember just because you didn't make it you can still contribute articles to help improve your scene and the community. Just make a thread in the Articles section and one of the staff will review and possibly put up as a article on the front page.

Thanks,
Dustloop Staff

Your Tsubaki moderator (Kiba) has created a Tricks and Gimmicks Compilation for Tsubaki Yayoi which can be located here! http://www.dustloop.com/forums/showthread.php?15961-CSE-Tsubaki-Yayoi-Tricks-and-Gimmicks-Compilation

Though quite late, it is definately worth looking into if you're looking for more ways to spruce up your game! Even though they are EX relevant many of the setups will remain to be useful in Chrono Phantasma! Huzzah!

The compilation not only touches upon tricks and gimmicks, but it also goes through those typcial bad habits that I would advise Tsubaki veterans and new comers alike to avoid!

In addition to this, Daedron has kindly created a 6C special cancel tutorial to aid the explanation on the trick! Enjoy! Special thanks to the listed contributors!

We are looking for article writers!

By Guest, in Home,

ATTENTION WRITERS!

Dustloop.com is currently accepting applications for article writers. Nationality does not matter as Dustloop has staff all around the world, but we prefer writers who can write about and attend events that happen in NA/EU. We are looking for users who have past knowledge of the community, a good understanding of the video game titles covered here, and have a creative mindset to develop articles from various outlets. Articles subjects can range from promoting tournaments, tournament results, showcasing user created content (combo/tutorial/match videos), game previews/reviews, and covering game news from Arc System Works. This is a no-pay, volunteer mod position but a great opportunity for talented writers looking to burst into the world of video game journalism. As any other mod you'll get your forum and the increased avatar resolution to sport around. Past experience in video game journalism is a plus but not required. We currently have three positions open.

If interested please submit a resume (if available), and answer the following questionnaire by PM to Kurushii. Deadline is Monday March 18th, 2013.

Questions:
1. How long have you been a part of the fighting game community?
2. What are the current fighting games you play and which ones are you considering to pick up in the future?
3. Have you attended a offline fighting game tournament?
4. Have you contributed to Dustloop.com or the fighting game community with some form of user created content?

Thanks,
Dustloop Staff
