Another great Persona 4 Arena combo video was released by our very own superscience890. This video titled "Attack on Akihiko" shows off a more creative side of what a combo video can be by mixing the overall visual presentation to the theme of Shingeki no Kyojin's (Attack on Titan) anime opening. Just like his previous works this one doesn't disappoint in the combos shown.[PRBREAK][/PRBREAK]

[Update] StayFree @ E3 Talkin' CP

By Guest, in Home,

I, your Grand Poobah, StayFree was able to momentarily tear himself away from the PS3 build of the game to get some face time with the good folks over at Aksysgames. I spoke to VP of Sales, Yoshi Morizuka and Marketing, Anne Kaneko on their upcoming PS3 exclusive, BlazBlue: Chrono Phantasma.

...more after the jump.[PRBREAK][/PRBREAK]

Despite being tight-lipped on most of the details surrounding the game I managed to get new info concerning the work being done on the project and to clear some of the confusion plaguing Arc System Works' latest fighter.

First off, neither Aksysgames nor *Arc System Works is doing the localization this time around, but rather an undisclosed third party company. No news on whether the original English voice cast will reprise their respective roles.

Many people were excited to learn of Chrono Phantasma's US release and the E3 reveal trailer that followed; only to be greeted by the same arcade intro shown months ago. I asked if they would be willing to offer more details on the matter, here's what they had to say:

"We had a finished trailer but it was later scrapped due to it not meeting ArcSys' standards. We ended up using the original arcade intro due to time constraints (E3)."

I also brought up the confusion concerning the final character roster and the unannounced 26th character. I was told in the interview that the info they (Aksys) received, and the final build they were given showed no indication of a 26th character. They stated, "It was most likely a PR mistake on ArcSys' part."

Morizuka was also pleased to announce that the same playable build demoed at E3 will make its public debut at Anime Expo 2013, alongside their largest booth to date.

Slated for a Q1 release, BBCP promises to revitalize the series by adding 6 additional characters to the roster with 30+ hours of new story content, robust online features, and newly updated modes (Teach Me Miss Litchi Again). 2014 appears to truly be the year of BlazBlue.

Dustloop Twitch.tv Team

By Guest, in Home,

Over the last few years we have noticed a huge increase in popularity of streams. Back in 2009 during the revival of fighting games it was rare to see video game streams. The hardware and internet required was pricey and not much documentation was around to assist new comers to join in. We had the "Upcoming Streams" section on the forum, which works well enough for tournament organizers to post their streams ahead of time, but really is a hassle for normal users who stream at random times of the day. With the easier access streaming has become now-a-days we needed a better way to showcase the many streamers we have in the community. [PRBREAK][/PRBREAK]Kurushii worked with x4ryuusei, a Twitch.tv Administrator and Destructoid.com streamer, to get us a team page on Twitch.tv. Twitch.tv is currently the leader in video game streams, and the most popular used service in the community. Team pages are a service Twitch.tv provides to partnered streamers that lists multiple streams and who's currently streaming in the team. So that being said we would like to introduce the Dustloop Twitch.tv Team!

How does the team page work?
The page lists everyone who is a member of the team. Any team member that is currently streaming is pushed to the top of the list and it'll show how many viewers they currently have. Just click on the stream you want to watch and you'll be sent to their channel. The stream that has the most viewers is shown on the video player unless someone is streaming that is on the featured channels list. To be fair and give respect to tournament streamers, everyone that is known to stream tournaments (locals or majors) is on the featured channels list. If multiple featured channels are streaming at the same time then whoever is higher on the featured channels list takes priority. The featured channels list isn't shown publicly so if you have a question about your streams placement then contact Kurushii.

What are the requirements to join?
Be a Dustloop member and stream Arc System Works fighting games. You don't have to be a tournament streamer. If you stream netplay or casuals you are welcomed to join too. You aren't required to stream only ASW fighting games as we understand everyone plays other games as well. Also no requirement on how often you have to stream.

How do I join the team?
Send a message to Kurushii with the url to your twitch.tv page. The best ways to reach him is by twitter at @Kurushii, or send him a Private Message here on Dustloop. If you stream local or major tournaments please put that in your message so that you can be added to the featured channels list of the team.

How do I find the team page?
On Dustloop.com the content bar at the top of the site now contains a button labeled "TV". Just press that to be taken to the team page. If you want to link to the team page you can use http://www.twitch.tv/team/dustloop or http://tv.dustloop.com.

The folks over at Silicon Era have found out some very interesting info about the coming Blazblue: Chrono Phantasma console release!

[PRBREAK][/PRBREAK]

Firstly, here are some screenshots that show off screenshots of Kagura Mutsuki, one of the two latest additions to the roster. They also provide screenshots of BBCP's Unlimited Mars, Score Attack, Tutorial and Challenge modes.

Next comes the surprising announcment that Kagura and Terumi are not DLC characters. They become available straight out of the box, no additional fees required!

Lastly, for any people who've missed out on the updated announcements, Aksys games confirmed that BBCP will be a Playstation 3 exclusive console release. No XBox 360 release is currently planned, presumably due to the console's lack of popularity among Japanese gamers.

[Update] BBCP NA Console E3 Trailer

By Guest, in Home,

While BBCP wasn't shown off at the amazing E3 Sony press conference, it did get some spotlight on Sony Playstation's youtube channel. The trailer itself is the same we have seen before from Japan but with a lovely intro at the start showing that our wonderful NA publisher, Aksys Games, is in fact doing the publishing for the BBCP console release. No word if they are doing the localization too, but at least NA can finally relax that their favorite publisher is still alive and working with ASW.[PRBREAK][/PRBREAK]

[update: Aksys Games has confirmed at E3 that BlazBlue Chronophantasma will be released in the US next year.]

[update2: Confirmed to have 26 characters total so expect another character to be added to the roster! Sad news is "Blazblue Chrono Phantasma Announced Exclusively For The PlayStation 3".]

Tasty Steve and Genesis have recently been busy with Cross Counter TV churning out content related to a variety of games. Recently, they have taken it upon themselves to start a beginners tutorial for Guilty Gear XX AC+. This tutorial series is a basic primer for those players with more of a Street Fighter background, however would still be beneficial to all newcomers to the series alike. More after the break! [PRBREAK][/PRBREAK]

As a disclaimer, it should be noted that this is a very informal and basic entry level tutorial, and therefore some information is left to be desired, and there are some stumbling regarding accurate info related to system mechanics and some character specific functions. So it would be best to approach with mook/Dustloop Wiki information at hand.

Currently, there are two episodes in what we hope will be a continuing series to get Guilty Gear the much needed exposure it deserves!

In addition, Tasty Steve and Genesis did a review of the Guilty Gear Xrd -Sign- Announce trailer, which is included below the tutorials for your viewing/dissecting pleasure.

Finally, be sure to check out more from Cross Counter TV's YouTube Channel, where you can find more Guilty Gear action as Steve takes on West Coast opponents such as Genesis, Rynge, and Romel.

Arc System Works' official website was updated recently regarding the PSN/XBLA update of Guilty Gear XX Λ Core Plus to the current arcade version of +R. Unfortunately it did not forebode good news, and instead stated that the title update which was originally slated for "Spring 2013" to the dismay of all is in fact delayed.

ArcSys apologizes profusely for the delay, however at this time no more information was given for the reason of the delay other than "falling behind schedule" and "issues during development" nor was a new release window announced. As of late Arcsys' Official Japanese and North American Twitter accounts have been flooded with constant questions regarding the release of the update, and now that there is an official answer, as was mentioned by the ArcSys website, all we can do is stay patient and wait a while longer.

Be sure to stay tuned as we will no doubt update the situation as more info becomes available.

BBCP Terumi and Kagura Trailer

By Guest, in Home,

At the end of ArcFes they streamed the trailer for Terumi and Kagura by camera. It wasn't the greatest quality but finally we get to see the trailer in it's full glory showing off two new characters in action. At the end of the video is a teaser for the upcoming anime, BlazBlue: Alter Memory, which was also announced during ArcFes. The anime is scheduled to debut this Autumn.
