  3. as another example, SRK has that contribution point system. have they had a problem with ppl pretending to help the community? i don't go there often enough to know. I'll probably set up something this weekend so we can try it out for like 2 or 3 months, then remove if ppl hate it that much.

  6. i think Dustloop's biggest problem (and i guess any forum of sufficient size) is that new members 1. don't know where to look for info 2. don't know who to trust i assumed ppl would be smart enough to read teh dammned sitckied threads and the beginner subforum, but I don't have any statistics for how many new ppl were educated by these threads and how many ignored them and just started being idiots. would a merit system help with this? in theory it'd help with problem #2, but i don't know. i've been looking at vbulletin mods, and 'medal system' mods do exist, and i think they can be split between categories (so there coudl be one for 'storyline', 'gameplay', 'community organizing', etc). as for zidane's suggestion of mods clamping down on idiots, i support the idea; the problem is that if this is all we do, then the number of ppl who stick around and put in effort to be good will go down. Some might consider this a good thing. I believe the correct term for this type of community behavior called is 'hazing' and 'trial by fire'. Granted, we're a competitive community so that might be what we actually need.
  7. viewtiful joe, can you mention gatlings into her Ds? i know it'd be pretty rare to do something like 5A > 2D in a real match, but this is more for completion's sake.
  8. 4r5, there's a 'no posting allowed' usergroup that GB made, but it's never been used afaik. There's also a "no gameplay" group too very interesting idea dragontamer. i'm also not sure how i'd implement it, but i'll look into it
  9. i implemented a policy where if you get enough infractions you are automatically tempbanned. how many infractions does it take you may ask? well each infraction is worth 1 point, and if you get 5 points, you get banned for a week. infractions disappear after a set amount of time (depends on the type) i can change these values / policy if ppl disagree with it and offer solutions. of course for extraordinary cases of stupid, we can take banning measures and whatnot more quickly

  12. do you really think her 5D is overpowered? it's not. The invincibility frames don't go all teh way to hte first active frame which means you can hit her before her 5D actually hits you.

  16. AXIS: you didn't mention anything that gatlings into throw and jump, and you're missing info for 2C. Does tager just not have gatlings into throw/jump? Also, the limits you mention seem to be based on whether the opponent is close enough to you, meaning it could go on forever if there were no pushback on hit/block. so far we have: GG: Ky, Chipp, Pot, Dizzy, Johnny, I-No, Axl, Jam BB: Jin, Tsubaki, Mu, Ragna, Tager(once missing info is in)
