  1. tiers don't matter. matchups matter. stop bitching that chars should be A tier or S tier or whatever bs.
  2. i don't think i can make it to this... and even if i can go, i can't play
  3. to start sekkajin, press C four times. to stop it at the right time, just look at number of hits the sekkajin did and stop at around the 6th or 7th hit. Ex: forward throw > sekkajin > whatever. notice that the forward throw does 2 hits before you start the sekkajin. Therefore, when you start the sekkajin, stop pressing C when the combo counter says 8 or 9 (2 + 6 or 7 = 8 or 9). It's not that hard with some practice. CT Sekkajin is a bit harder to combo with since you need to be very close to them to do this, but practice up... this distance restriction seems to be loosened in CS. To combo after sekkajin, all i can say is practice. You have to wait and recover from sekkajin before you 5C or dash or whatever, so just go to training mode and practice.
  4. online level means absolutely nothing... it just shows how much you play online. things that work online (purple throws) do not work as well offline due to lag and such. so again, purple throw combos are generally useless... the 214D > 2C example is the only useful one i can think of for jin.
  5. it shows a number for each hit in the cimbo that's not legit. so for example if you had a combo where the opponent could have teched out at 2 points (say the 4th hit and the 12th hit) and the opponent doesn't tech, the secondary number would show '01204' i know there's a video that showed this but i can't find it right now... edit: found it http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z2YTsK5AAIY at around 2:20
  6. i think 3 threads total. my position on the topic is pretty clear.

  7. so... i made a thread for Continuum Shift discussion only so ppl who want gameplay advice can still ask in here, please bring all CS discussion in there please. if you guys want me to move the CS stuff to the new thread, then please let me know. also sojirou, i think you're quite crazy, revisions should strive for better overall balance, not fulfill some "low tier revenge fantasy" that's just dumb.
  8. very cool to hear, did you try this out on rachel too? she's too short for 5C > j.B stuff too... if not i'll try it when i have some spare time
  9. talk about hyperbole... i said "we're not your parents, if you want to play, just ask" no cussing involved.
  10. basically, i'm against a general talk forum because way back in the day (when dustloop didn't exist and it was gamecombos.com), there was a general watercooler subforum. that place turned to shit and it was a general hive of scum and villainy. if you want to shoot hte breeze, try: - other forums like srk, smash boards, somethingawful, 4chan, whatever - going into the irc chat room for guilty gear or srk or whatever another not mentioned fact is that spam posts eat up bandwith and memory for this site. this site (as far as i know) is tiny and doesn't have that much spare resources to support a general discussion forum. if you're using these forums as a way to make friends in real life, try the match finder section and go post in there and meet up with ppl near you.
  11. http://www.dustloop.com/forums/showthread.php?t=4263 you're not hte first person to think we need a general discussion board (hint, it's not going to happen). what purpose does an introduction thread serve? to inflate post count? to announce to the forum 'HAY GUYS I AM NEW NOTICE MEEE'? seriously, i've never seen a point to those types of threads... can someone explain to me why there's a need for one?
  12. ok, all of these posts asking questions should be moved to the simple questions thread, or the general questions thread. if your question has nothign to do with teh guide, don't post them here. I won't move the existing posts, but seriously, i figured the thread titles would make it pretty obvious where certain questions would go.
  13. lol this sounds like a hilarious gimmick. i'm gonna have to try this out some time...
  14. threads are now merged. I'll updaet the first post
  15. yes, online combo timing is dfferenent from real life/training mode. This is especially apparant when you have a crappy connection. For myself any connection above yellow generally means no problems with combos. Anything below yellow = lag tactics or just fuck around time. your mileage may vary
  16. 5C > 6C > 2D works on crouches sekkajin > 6C > 2D also works too i think mostly, when you do ground combos, just look to see if the enemy is crouching, and then do 5C > 6C > whatever.
  17. i can see some uses for it... if you're trying to burst bait with 623D, or if you guard crush with teh first hit of 623D... but in whatever case, they're pretty situational, and most certainly not Bread and Butter material. i also recall being able to do similar damage without the use of hte super, though i can't confirm this...
  18. yes, please do so... i don't watch enough videos to do this properly... i just watch videos other ppl send me or i watch game chariot from time to time.
  19. make sure you move the stick to neutral (5) before moving to 6

    [CT] Jin vs Jin

post what moves to look out for in this matchup, what moves counter what, etc.
  21. there is no jump install in this game. hakumen can jump cancel his air ink kick (even if he's already used up his double jump/air dash) on hit or block, but that's the only exception i can think of.
  22. yes, throw combos work just like how invalid combos work (as in they don't)... seriously though, no throw combos unless there's something special about it.
  23. i am renaming this thread to be a catch-all for noobs-seeking-advice-please-help-meee threads so we don't get like 20 of them. IGNORE ME
  24. combos off burst-induced guard crushes can not kill. ever. hell, if you guard crush with barrier burst and do an astral finish, it will miss (try it in training mode).
  25. i don't know what to say other than you're doing it wrong. when in blockstun, press 6AB and jin will do a 5C that knocks the opponent away (if it hits), and consumes 50% heat. are you waiting too long to press 6AB? as for your other question... i'm having problems understanding your question... they do a move with lots of recovery and you're asking what you can punish with? try a faster move i guess? out of all of jin's moves why do you think Jin's 6C would be the "only" thing you can retaliate with? bb (and gg) does reward good offense over good defense, so that's sonething you will have to get used to. learn to push your opponent out using Barrier Guard, and then get an advantageous position, or learn to stop him before he gets close to you. your problem is terribly vague, so i can't comment.
