  5. yes except if you are good you should be able to block a majority of ragnas mixups. he has very slow overheads. a perfect Tk GH is 16 frame startup but also hits later most of the time because of how you have to distance it to hit on people. (it has 12f startup but you have to factor prejump into that as well).

  8. you CAN beat 4c but if you are seriously beating it clean consistently with those tools that hakumen sucks ass. 4c beats tager because the options he has to beat it are higher risk than hakumen has to take. thankfully 4c doesnt lead to anything but another 4c on counter hit so its just a hinderance instead of an actual matchup issue.

  12. stop doing purple !! throws. yes he got hit by them, don't rely on them for damage unless the enemy player is REALLY bad. after your first throw you do 6c: don't. stick to some sort of gadget finger setup or walk them into a corner. if they roll through you, 360B on reaction, if they roll back, who cares. after ch b sledge you need to do a combo, even if they're in the air, 5c 6a collider, b sledge gadget works. any time you do a move you need to focus on if it hits or not and translate it into damage. dont sledge from so far away, the hazama was terrible and didnt bait you out for doing it and did not whiff punish or move himself using his drive to avoid the sledges. otherwise theres not much to comment on, he got destroyed by !! throws so yeah...

  14. haha what the fuck is this thread. tager sucks, heres why: -he has NO consistent way of getting in. keyword: consistent. if a grappler wishes to control match flow, he needs a way to secure an advantegous position, do you know what tager has? walk forward in a game with a screen that takes decades to corner someone. many good characters have ways to eascape the corner on top of ths, that tager has few answers to. =he has, quite honestly, the worst close range moveset of ANY grappler i have ever used. yes he has a 720, yes he has good damage. what he doesnt have? consistent hitconfirms into GOOD damage that also knocks down. he doesnt have enough frame traps to prevent people from jumping out. potemkin has some really good things here along with a VERY fast command throw which meant it was harder to jump out of. -tager does not have good, safe, repeatable pressure. one of the biggest things about being a grappler is once you are in, you should remain dangerous and relevant, tager has neither of these. if he magnetizes you, he has 5d once the tempo resets, thats about it. -tager has pretty low damage despite all this. all of the top tiers put out equal or better damage than his consistently. -tager has no "True" forced mixup. if he knocks you down anywhere but the corner? guess what? he can't do shit. one of the best parts about being a grappler is once you get in, you're supposed to stay there and win. tager has to deal with blazblue's retarded roll system in a game that has no close corners. despite this, tager has some cool stuff, its just not enough. he has none of the essential characteristics of a viable grappler. you dont need all of these, just some of these.
  15. guys i discovered a new glitch that makes tagers j.D at a certain height unblockable. i believe pozer was hit by that and lost. he should get a rematch.
  16. if you do dp 623 motion, that becomes 421 motion + c. he'll get hit by the low/grab if he tries to dp out since he should be hitting a regular old c attack.

  21. Option selects are inputs that the game system chooses the "best option" despite the opponent capable of doing different things. A very very very basic option select is actually close moves/throws in the original street fighter 2. If the opponent is in range, you will do one move, but if they are incapable of getting hit by the low range move/throw, the far move will come out instead. Generally this is good because you would never want a full screen throw attempt. Anyway, the most basic option select in BlazBlue is throw tech/barrier block. Hit 3/Down back and A+B+C, if you time it right, this will block any attack that isn't an overhead, but if the enemy decides to throw you at that time, you will instead tech the throw. For the sake of example, this is a win/win situation, despite there being counters to doing this option.
