Since when? An Anji player is my major competition and I do this dust combo all the time. Maybe you need to delay your homing jump a bit?

There are a few for pot, but not as useful in AC now that he can do 2D>2S. I'll see if I can dig up some useful stuff for zappa.

Random Thought: Been trying to put more guard-bar build up into my game. Just having them block a j.2k and landing 2k (2 or 3) hits into a Mettakiri > air combo does as much damage as an average normal b&b followup from sweep. Other good guardbar buildup moves are 2HS, 6HS, and 5HS. Just thought people might want to keep that in mind

Thats what you get for trying to play games in moonspeak.

this game is floaty

I know you got combos, they're also gattlings

I don't think you're serious, but I guess you wouldn't understand anyway =/. What I said, I said only because it is 100% FACT.

I'm still the top player from Louisiana, oh snap!

I think this has been covered before, but tier lists created based on an individual's opinion are pointless.

j00, I Accidently edited your message, and lost the original contents. Sorry about that XD Nothing is particularly wrong about it, but adding in a JC>j.2k adds significant time for your opponent to recover. This allows you to more easily follow up with running, 5P > etc, or even far.5S.

Unfortunently Faust doesn't have that many options when enemies poke from a close distance. He basically has 3 things, standing punch, crouching punch, and close Slash. My suggestion is that you just block for now. Why I tell you this is because you can then pay attention to your enemy's pressure. You can watch for patterns and ways out. You can learn to make use of Perfect guard, and instant blocking to improve your defense too.

I would gladly help you, but please move your question to the General Discussion thread, since this isn't a combo specific question.

He uses a DVD recorder I think.

Glad I could be of service.

This really isn't something that should be causing you trouble. There are 2 things that can happen. 1. 2K activates, and you're stuck in the drill animation Causes: a. You've not pressed P/S/HS quick enough after holding 1 and pressing K. b. You don't have any meter. (make sure you have meter before you try to FDC) The easiest way to drill cancel is to hold 1 (downback on the joystick), and press K then Slash in rapid succession. You can press Slash as quickly as you want as long as you don't press K and S at the same time.

Since I get to play a certain May player all the time, one to which Flashmetroid wishes he could be on level playing grounds with I'll tell you. Just don't screw with May's j.2HS Anchor, definently don't try to anti-air it. Even if you trade she gets to recover and air dash in for free overhead/land mixup. You also DON'T want to block it on the ground, she'll eat you alive with mixups from that. Faust is fat, so don't try to backdash if she's right under you, you'll just be giving her a chance to do a big damaging air combo. If she's coming right down on you, your only real chance is to to jump and flash guard the anchor. May has one of the highest/quickest jumps in the game, so you're not going to stop her from jumping on reaction. Keep the jumping drill cancel j.HS going, and do j.2K to punish horizontal dolphins. Don't ever try to poke may with j.HS when you're inside her range, the counterhit damage is enormous. The whole point of the match for Faust is to stay at the range of his long attacks, don't ever let her get in. If she runs in and try to 3K you (the sliding sweep she does), block and you get a counter hit with 2HS to whatever (ReReRe, 236S) So the #1 Rule with May is don't be tricked into anti-airing her. Don't let her dash in. Don't mess with her j.2HS! I guess I'll get around to writing a proper matchup description soon.

Ok so I'm considering making a Faust tutorial video. First I would like to assess the need. I'm confident that anything I would show already exists in the numerous match videos with Faust already, but some people might not be able see it right off the bat. I would like to include: - special counters to character specific attacks - strategies and general game play goals for Faust. - some B&B combos for good measure. - basic Faust "techniques" which mainly use Drill Canceling. - Okizeme Followups Now I'm pretty busy as it is, and not an expert video editor, nor do I have very advanced equipment to efficiently produce such a video. I have some free software which often crashes/incompatible with certain formats. I would however like to insert freeze frames, and highlight things on the screen to which I would like to add descriptions. If anyone is interested, and would really like to see a tutorial vid, please let me know, and I would gladly take suggestions.

I should have told you that Faust completely has the advantage over Axl as closing mid-range. Unless you're absolutely full screen, Axl's max range attacks punish everything you've got. I probally should have been less lazy too, and told you the real game plan. You don't sit at full screen range. The purpose of jumping Drill Canceling > j.HS is to "clear room" so to speak, so that you can run move in, keeping them from coming in on you. You can get alot of anti-air counter hits from running in afterwards if they air dash in. So basically the game plan is. Item, jump DrillCancel (low as possible to the ground), j.HS, buffer a run as you're landing. From here you have quite a bit of options depending on what they are doing. If you run in and want to be defensive you ofcourse got FD break, by holding 1, or 4 and FDing. If they run in you always have 5S and 2HS. They air dash in you got 5K, or even better 6P. Ofcourse you got 2D also. These are just the safest options, there are a few more. Obviously this stuff applies to everyone.

Easy, stay at full screen range, throw items. If he tries to dash in, jump Drill Cancel > j.HS.

Just hold (down back), 1 on the numb pad, in the air, press kick and hold it, then immediently press slash, highslash or punch. You must press the second button as quickly as possible after pressing and holding kick. Now you have FDCed j.2k.
