  1. Those actually seem to be real, Elysium is in one of the JP trailers from about a week ago. And Daishi confirmed that the last few characters wouldn't be announced to due to story reasons (Like Alpha Pat, Omega Pyrrha, Kilik) so they would not be announced. When the guy said "Look at my mad photoshop skills" it's believed he was referring to the white boxes/scribbles he added to the pictures to cover some stuff up. According to him, Kilik and Elysium are just like Edge Master in that they can use any style, so all three are like Olcadan, Charade, Inferno, etc. Alpha Patroklos is supposed to be a modified Setsuka (No umbrella moves) and Pyrrha is the same as her normal version, only with Soul Edge. I don't think the playstyles are true, I wouldn't imagine that Namco could be as stupid as to add three charade characters, a clone, and a color swap. @Kimura Elysium is said not to be Sophitia, but that she has a similar appearance as fan service. :P
  2. Your teams are very awkward, to say the least. You definitely need to switch Strider to Vajra though, it's going to help you a lot more using Virgil and Zero. It especially helps keep the opponent pinned down when you're on point with Zero, considering he's very floaty, it also work wonders against zoners and airdashers. I'm messing around with your Hulk, Ryu, Nova team, I came up with this Hulk Corner BnB that you should SERIOUSLY learn, it's super easy and can be hit-confirmed into by pretty much all of his normals: cr.LM > f+M > S > j.MMHS > Ryu Assist (Tatsu) > Gamma Wave > Ryu Final Hit > Anti-Air Gamma Charge L~Followup H > cr.HS > j.HS > Gamma Wave H > Gamma Crush= 942,600 DMG, the super pays for itself, and leaves you with a 3rd of a bar. I'm not liking the Nova Strike assist, I think Centurion Rush is a better assist. It hits overhead, letting you preform unblockable setups, it ground bounces, and it has better proration then Nova Strike. Using Centurion Rush you can extend the above combo to: cr.LM > f+M > S > j.MMHS > Ryu Assist > Gamma Wave > Ryu Final Hit > Anti-Air Gamma Charge L~Followup H > cr.HS > j.HS > Gamma Wave L > Nova Assist > st.H > Gamma Wave H > Gamma Crush= 1,024,600 DMG, leaves you with slightly over half a bar. From a st.H: st.HS > j.MMHS > Gamma Wave > Ryu Assist > cr.HS > j.MMHS > Gamma Wave L > Nova Assist (Cent Rush) > st.H > Gamma Wave H > Gamma Crush= 1,042,400 DMG The Centurion Rush assist is miles better, IMO. EDIT: I've been messing around with Ryu a little bit this morning, I didn't feel like looking anything up for him, so this is VERY basic: cr.L xN > st.MH > f+H > Nova Assist (Cent) > Tatsu L > Wavedash > cr.HS > j.MMHS > Hulk Assist (Wave) > S > j.MMHS > Air Shinkuu Hadouken= 680-730K depending on the starter/how many L's you hit with/how many hits of j.M you landed, gains it's own meter. The Hulk OTG only works in the corner, it's not fast enough, nor does it reach far enough to be used mid-screen. It's really good for Ryu though, so I say keep that. Nova gains little to nothing with this team, when he's on point, their assists do pretty much nothing for him. So I say you should use him on point, just to whore meter for Ryu, and Ryu will kill off as much as he can, to make Hulk insanely fast and strong in Lvl. 3 X-Factor.
  3. Blade, I'll see if I can't help you out when I get the time. I don't play a few of those characters, so I'm going to have to learn a good bit first. I'll also test some of the other assists with each team to see what works best. =)
  4. Multi-Charcter Combo Video: The Drop
  5. Those are freaking awesome #5 is the best.
  6. 6B > Dash > 5A is a safer option, because it'll work from almost any range, 6B > 5C only works from specific ranges, where as you can normally always do Dash > 5A. So it's still worth doing the 5A followup whenever you're unsure about the range that you hit with 6B.
  7. Alright, let me start off by saying I don't have a lot of tournament experience, I've never been to a major, and I don't have a local scene. (The closest scene is a few hours away, aside from a monthly meet up about 30 minutes away) So, with that, I'm going to share a few of my ideas that might help improve smalls scenes, or areas without a lot of players/a meet up. A lot of people assume that you need to have some big area, or a hotel to do a meet up and play, that you've got to have a big setup with lots of players or a stream. Wrong. You can contact a few local players you know of and invite them to your house, or go to one of their houses, change it up every once in a while. Set a specific night for a gathering, spread the word around your local area that fighting game fans can come and hang out, socialize and fight other players. If that's not getting a good turn out, start advertising with flyers, posters, banners, cards, anything you can make and put up in popular areas. Start a webpage or make a thread here on DL, link them to it so they can get the information. See how many people actually show up, you'd be surprized how many people will come just out of curiosity. See if you can save up some extra money, or get a few other players you know to pitch in a bit of cash and rent a small area for a tournament, some local video game stores will help out with this, some even do it for free. Then promote it on forums, hype it up, make a trailer, send out invitations to people you know. Invite some of your friends who don't even play fighters to come and see if they might be interested in learning one. That's another thing people always seem to forget, a new player doesn't NEED to be someone who is already interested in fighting games, you can talk with people who never played a fighting game before and show them the basics, or link them to some stuff on YouTube, send them to Dustloop, show them some matches, invite them to come play some casuals. Secondly, if you are already in a area with a scene, hype the game, ask around to other players about what they think of it. See what their pros and cons list is, ask them why they feel that way about the game, just make conversation and try to relate to them. Try and show them some of the finer points of BB, if they say they don't like learning long combos, but they play Marvel, show them how different they really are. If they don't like heavily offensive games, but they play Tekken, show them the similarities. A lot of people don't enjoy BB because they only listen to what other people say, and never try it themselves, so see if you can't AT LEAST get them to WATCH or TRY the game. Most of this can be hard though, because it can take a lot of convincing, a lot of planning, and a lot of work, but that's how it all begins, with work. If you're having trouble getting people to come to your small area, look up some bigger scenes near you and see if the TO's might be interested in coming closer to your area for a combined tournament with some of the players you know, see if you can't pitch in a little bit and help them with costs for moving the event closer to a central point between scenes. The ultimate goal, is to get all of the scenes to work together, not just in one state, but nationwide. That's the big picture. I don't really have much else to say, I know my posts were pretty bland, and very uneducated, but that's just how I see it. I think people just need to TRY and talk others into playing the game, and instead of waiting for the tournament to come to them, to make the tournament themselves, and bring it to the other players. But enough of my rambling now.
  8. Don't ever stop St1ckBuG, it's people like you that make communities great. If he's getting salty at you correcting him, then he's just immature. Other people will read your post and learn something that can be important to Relius' mixup game. They'll know what's safe and what isn't. I personally appreciate all you've been doing for the BB community and DL in general, so keep at it! Kurushii, I love the Technical Threas, it look fantastic, it's very well organized.
  9. BlazBlue Guilty Gear Melty Blood Arcana Heart Persona Aqua Pazza Umineko no Naku Koro ni Vampire Savior Fate/ Unlimited Codes Jojo's Bizarre Adventure (Is that an anime game?) These all come to mind, I'm not sure which ones are on console or not, but these seem to be some of the most popular anime games. And Hokuto no ken could be thrown in, just for fun. I agree with everything you said St1ckBuG, instead of everyone complaining about the community not getting better, or how BB isn't at EVO, people should instead try to uplift the community and show support for the future. Regardless of how big SF or MvC is, they had to start at some point as well. I think doing a massive meet up at one of the majors this year is a fantastic idea, and if I can convince my parents to take me, I'll be there supporting you and everyone else the whole time. I think it's time, we, as a community, need to start getting the games we love more exposure and hype. We need to show the masses that there is indeed a scene of players, and that we all have something to bring with us to the table. I'm behind you 100%! As for what you said about BB's majority of players, you were completely right. I'm actually 14, and I suffer from almost all of the cases you listed. School, no money, can't drive, not old enough to travel alone, etc. It can be a real pain trying to go out to a local tournament, luckily, my parents support me in my love for fighting games, and are trying to help me make it out to Final Round with whatever extra money they can set aside. It's difficult for young players to get out to a scene, but it's not impossible, you just need to try hard. Talk to your parents about it, see if they'll let you go with a friend, if one of them will take you themselves, you never know what's going to happen. As long as no one stands up for the community and tries to help it grow, we're always going to get screwed over. (Like at SB) I think we all need to try and decide on an event to go to, where everyone can go and we can have the BEST BB tournament to date. Setting up our own major, strictly for Anime games is a fantastic idea, in my opinion. Who need EVO? We can handle it ourselves, hype it ourselves, and run it ourselves. We don't have to give into what's popular, or try to appeal to a biased crowd, if there are people willing to play, who's stopping us from starting our own majors?
  10. His normals whiff at certain ranges, like from the tip of 5B, you can't connect 6B, 5C, 2C or 3C for example.
  11. From what I've seen myself: He's not good on defense He has bad air normals He has no mixup or rushdown without Ignis His moves don't connect well mid-screen Ignis dies very quickly Without Ignis is damage is low His overheads are slow His lows have bad proration
  12. I was always under the impression it was white and brown. Chocolate cake, with vanilla icing.
  13. Delay Hatsu after IppatsuB, wait until she touches the floor to input Haku, do Chun right after Haku connects.
  14. I agree. There's no better way to breakdown a character then to test every aspect of them you can think of. In this case, your curiosity lead the entire forum into trying to find a fuzzy setup. Without that, it could have been months before anyone even tried to find a setup.
  15. Pshhhhhhhhhhhh... I know that... That's why I shouldn't type when I first get out of bed, I'll always say type something wrong. XD
  16. 5B > 3C > 2D > [Dash > 3C > 2D] xN
  17. Small error: You have Filia's sub-forum written with two L's, her name only has one.
  18. Pretty much this. The history of Shadow: CT= Bang CT Console= Hakumen CS1= Hazama CS1 DLC= Makoto CS2= Platinum CSE= Relius Every time there's an update, he picks and new character and flocks.
  19. He WAS a good Platinum, I don't think he's used her in months though.
  20. There isn't really a "best" there are a few good players, Aru-ya, Shadow and Shiromadushi are good ones.
  21. If the plans on making character sub-forums for Skullgirls is still true, then I suggest making them pretty soon. The game will be out soon and I think organization might help with the crowd of people that starts to flood in all at once. Just my two cents.
  22. I think Arakune's Astral is a fully invincible, physical attack. It's going to be really fun plowing through zoning in Extend, just jumping through everything and getting a Fatal.
  23. I despise fighting Hakumen just as much as I despise fighting Ragna and Jin. :<
  24. LINK ME. I really need some direct feed recording equipment, HD or not, anything is better then a video camera, on a tripod, in front of a TV.
  25. I agree, the only thing keeping Platinum from being on the higher end of the spectrum is the random factor that comes with using her items. If she had the ability to use her items at any given time (Like her unlimited version) she'd probably be one of the best characters in the game, IMO.
