Nitroplus Blasterz: Heroines Infinite Duel
redsilversnake replied to ivanchu77's topic in Misc Fighter Central
Saya doesn't eat her opponents, she takes their meat to eat later. She does have to take a portion for Fuminori as well, after all. -
There have been a number of top tier characters in FGs with lackluster mixup and no freely accessible reversals. It doesn't matter that a character lacks something if what they do have is more than enough to compensate.

Ethernet is better because it's more stable. Wi-fi fluctuates a lot, while a wired connection will typically only do so to the same extent if something's wrong with your internet to begin with.

Nitroplus Blasterz: Heroines Infinite Duel

I think it was mentioned in that game's thread here that the official Examu Twitter account said they had little to do with the port, so it would've been ASW's decision. I don't think anyone ever tried to make sure after that, though. The producer brought that up at TGS. He joked about it being called After Story despite the arcade version not having one to begin with. Though, IIRC, that was already confirmed in either Famitsu or Dengeki a while back. -

Only if by "now," you mean "not that long after the game came out." :P -
That would be incorrect. While Mori says he has a general outline of BB's story, Ishiwatari, at least recently, has said that he makes up the story for GG as it goes along.

Sol not knowing Justice was Aria is either a misreport or a retcon. Him not knowing that makes no sense if you look at his ending in The Missing Link.

#BuffIgnis Xseed doesn't port games. Trails in the Sky, Ark of Napishtim, and The Oath in Felghana were first released on PC to begin with, and Ys Chronicles was ported to PC by Falcom themselves. Nitroplus and Marvelous are probably the ones who would be behind a PC version, not a tiny localization company that apparently only has one programmer. -
Is Ramlethal the new Dizzy? Dizzy vs Ramlethal
redsilversnake replied to TheLaughingJackal's topic in Guilty Gear General
Ice spike FRC was mainly used for extra damage, certain okizeme setups, or if it somehow whiffed or got blocked. With the new RC system, only the extra damage would be feasible for the cost on hit, and it simply isn't used enough in neutral to consider applications for YRCing it. Whenever Dizzy gets added, it'll likely just be left alone. -

They have only superficial similarities. Especially as you get deeper into their respective strategies, the differences are honestly much more pronounced than the similarities. -
Core Skills That Every Great Player Has Mastered
redsilversnake replied to thekiyote's topic in Guilty Gear General
The thing is, high level players aren't as good as they are just because they spent a lot of time playing matches and practicing, but because of how they learn the game and how they apply what they learn. Basically, they've wrapped their heads around whatever game they play better than most other players, who typically aren't able to think about it the same way these high level players do. You can practice your execution and your character's setups all you like, but if you don't learn and apply more the more abstract aspects top players think about in every match they play, then you're simply not going to reach that level. So, rather than genetics per se, it's probably more how your brain is wired. A lot of people just don't have the consistent focus or thought processes necessary to catch up to skilled players. -
Core Skills That Every Great Player Has Mastered

Not everyone is a damn shounen manga protagonist. Some people will never get as good as others no matter how much effort they put in. It's not just the work you put in or how much motivation you have; there are numerous variables that come together, some of which will hinder or help you regardless of how hard you try. -
I tested before posting that. I used multiple combos and compared their damage both raw and after BS, and the damage was lower for each one after a BS. It's strange that it's not on the wiki, though, since I'm pretty sure ElvenShadow said during the first loketest it was in that it reduced damage. When I did Elphelt's shotgun stance Px4>Charged shot, it did 102 raw and 82 after a BS. That's a 20.4% reduction, so I'm inclined to think it has 80% proration.
-
According to the person behind the translations posted in the general thread, Elphelt will turn to aim at an opponent behind her if she YRCs or reloads. I think all they did was fix a bug where Kuzusu would happen with the opponent behind Elphelt.

He says he thinks there's little difference between characters in the same rank, but that the difference is harsher for those two ranks apart.

He fought once. Don't use one fight as a basis for how strong he is.

There's not really much nuance between "becomes more threatening with meter" and "needs meter to be threatening." It's worded well enough on a basic level, just lacking details about why he would think so.

Y'all don't know what you're talking about. The way men are portrayed is talked about, but in a different way compared to how women are; Zato, Venom and Sin aren't dressed the way they are as fanservice (at least, not primarily), but to display an idea of the "ideal masculine body" for men to, for lack of a better word, idolize. There is a discussion to be had about the equally ridiculous expectations of men's appearances to women's (and in fact, it has been for at least a couple of years now), but that's beyond the scope of this thread. Anyway, I'm just disappointed that she appeared so late and was unconscious during the ending. Seal's undone, though, so I really want her to be released as DLC. ArcSys, onegai

It also has poor range, and the damage isn't that good if the cinematic doesn't play. Poultrygeist is right that better Elphelt players won't use it much, if at all. Unless you're up against a weak player who thinks it's their best shot for escaping, it's usually better to assume that they'll just block on wakeup.
-
It's not, and there isn't one because TVTropes doesn't like sources. Don't ever trust that site. Dizzy has revealing clothing because Ishiwatari is a perv. That's it. Don't expect her to have too different an outfit in combat whenever she gets added to Xrd.

There's nothing to get. I'm repeating myself, but nothing you wrote demonstrates that there would be significant difference. Yes, teching on the first available frame would make tech resets more consistent, but again, that's why players would learn to delay their techs. They would have to start taking gambles on teching ASAP to avoid a black-beat combo or delaying to avoid a reset, while their opponent would have to take a gamble on finishing but possibly dropping their combo or intentionally dropping it to get a reset, which, again, is already the case. Furthermore, slightly different timings would still exist, because no one will have the exact same timing on delayed techs every single time. I could write more, but it's very late here and I'm getting too tired to keep this up. Also, just one last thing, no one's asking for hold-to-tech to "suit our shortcomings." Putting aside how condescending that comment is, mash-to-tech is simply unintuitive. Very few people are able to utilize it with the control you say it offers, while most others are left sometimes getting hit with black-beat combos despite trying to tech out. And considering how much stronger even air knockdowns are in GG compared to BB or P4U, that can be kind of a big deal in any match. If hold-to-tech can prevent that kind of situation without having too much of an effect otherwise, then there remains no reason not to include it.
-
How? You still have not given a satisfactory explanation for this claim, because everything you say before this about hold-to-tech already applies to how the game is except, obviously, for guaranteed techs. It's already the case that you're not necessarily going to mash out of an air combo if you know that your opponent goes for tech resets, so it doesn't seem likely that that would change just because you can hold a button instead. That's not really mean, just blunt. And I'll admit, you could be right; I started the series on AC+ less than a year before BBCT came out, but have only had a decent amount of matches with Xrd due to the arcade here not seeing much play before +R, and even when that came out, there were ultimately few times I was able to get offline matches (or online matches, for that matter, but +R would obviously not be as conducive to netplay as Xrd, so I'm not sure my online experience would matter as much), and thus didn't have as much motivation to study much aside from Dizzy's strategies and matchups, so it's self-evident that I'm not going to be as familiar with it as others are. However, that still does not mean you've been making valid points. Even if you definitively showed that tech resets in GG are fundamentally different from those in other ASW games, you still have not established how they would change within GG if hold-to-tech were implemented. Again, you just keep claiming that they would, with the reasons you give being things that are mostly already there.
