Coming back home tomorrow, I'll see you guys on Friday!
-
FYI: I added links to Twitter accounts to make it easier for new players lurking onto Dustloop to find a specific player they want to talk to via Twitter. I know some of us don't use this thread often to discuss meet ups so, to make thing run smoother, I did this. If you have a twitter account or have made one, let me know here and I'll add it to the player base. Also, if you're not in the player base, drop your info in the proper format and I'll add you to it.

EDIT: First post updated with Results of all games held at Ignition: Summer Skool'd Event! Congratulations to Chosen Ninja for taking first place in P4A, and Grant for 3rd! I took second this time. Also Congratulations to BlackSNAKE for placing first in GG, along with Oliver for 2nd and Nives for 3rd. The GG tournament was pretty hype and I can't wait for the next one.

I figured this would be the case since you can still take damage after a Counter Assault but not be killed by a combo with it as the starter, as stated before: it's still situational. Since Hakumen players are aware of this, they will probably just block the drill set up. Last thing they need is a permanent 6D on the screen, chances of it getting patched are slim. I don't see this as game breaking because of that case, the entire situation itself can be avoided.

All right guys, we've got 5 days left before the Summer Skool'd event, come on out to Ignite Gaming Lounge tonight for that grind if you can! Tournament fee is $5 tonight because it is a free tournament night. Tournament games are: Persona 4: Arena Injustice: Gods Among Us King of Fighters XIII Super Street Fighter IV: Arcade Edition 2012 Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3 Venue fee is Top 3 in each game get's a prize from the lounge, so come on out. Also, there will be other games there as well, I will be bringing a GG setup and grinding that game as well. I've signed up for it at EVO and I wanna be ready!

GG's Amadeous. It was fun while it lasted. I might grab me some food too. Just don't know what.

[CSE-CP] Jin Players List and Availability Information
Chris Chaos replied to Chris Chaos's topic in Jin Kisaragi
First Post Updated! Sorry for the long delay on getting you guys on the first page, I had school and work bodying me LOL! But it's summer and I have tons of time. For the next 3 weeks, I'm available just about whenever unless I'm out so hit me up on DL, my Skype or twitter and we can get some games in. I'm mad rusty and trying to prepare myself for EVO. The new thing to contact people for matches now is via Skype or Twitter. There are tons of Persona players doing it and even those that play BB are doing this as well. If you have a twitter account, post it up and I'll add it to your profile. Also, if you have a Skype and you don't mind people hitting you up, add your Skype info onto your DL profile so it's easier for people to contact you. -
I was wondering the same thing as well. I'm on a 3 week break and have tons of time until EVO. I'd like to see this get started.

Updated, thanks!

I've been watching a friend of mine suffer in this Match up, heck, I've messed around with Aigis a bit to see just how bad it is, and I won't lie, this MU is annoying. I think the one person that has a good idea on how to handle the MU is Kurumster. His gameplan at UFGT9 make the MU look a little more bearable, he doesn't come out on top but he does a ton of things to manage the match up and it shows: I hope this can spark up any ideas on how to deal with Mitsuru.

Yeah, it was one of those days man. I think UFGT burned me out, even I barely played Persona. Honestly, I played more GG, and truth be told, I played the drinking game more than anything that night. Maybe Monday at Ignite will better for me. TBH, I was more interested in the woman behind the bar LOL.
-
UFGT was amazing! Now that it's over, we're still grinding. We're playing at GamePazzo tonight so if you've got nothing going on and you wanna get some games in, weither it's Persona, Guilty Gear, BlazBlue, SSFIV or whatever, come down and chill with up tonight! You can find the address off the first post in the thread by clicking on the links provided.

UFGT9 Guts - Road to EVO 2013 [May 24-26] (RESULTS)
Chris Chaos replied to Chris Chaos's topic in Tournament Results
I did random shuffle on the GG brackets because there was so much Chicago and so many killers. Also, I didn't know who the out of town killers were outside of AKA and Latif so I didn't want to go crazy and possibly rig the brackets. I'll have someone who's more familiar with the GG scene do brackets for the next time though. EDIT: FYI Persona 4: Arena - Pools Brackets came out so if you wanted to see the breakdown of the pools matches, click the link and take a look! -

Thanks! I'm glad to see that GG showed up strong! I missed a ton of exciting matches in GG trying to organize things for BB and P4U but at least the matches I did miss were recorded and uploaded to YouTube. For those that missed them, check the matches out on Callisto's YouTube Channel: UFGT9 - Guilty Gear Accent Core: Plus Tournament Playlist Also, if there were any issues/changes you'd like to see for next time, or anything I missed while running the tournament, please let me know so that I may address them. I want to make sure that everyone's tournament experience goes as smoothy as possible next time. Also, for those that are interested in finding the matches in Persona 4: Arena, here is the link: UFGT9 - Persona 4: Arena Tournament Pools and Top 16 Playlist UFGT9 - Persona 4: Arena Tournament Top 8 Playlist Hope you all enjoyed your time out here as much as I did! Thanks to all the participants and everyone that helped run the tournaments to make things so much easier. -

I'm glad to see that everyone enjoyed themselves at UFGT this weekend. I wanted to make sure BB/GG/P4U had a good showing and I am glad things worked out the way they did! The BlazBlue tournament was small but it had a ton of talent in it, Grand Finals was so good between CrazyApe and Lord Knight, as much as I wanted to get it recorded, it happened before the setup was available. As we all know, some of the best matches happen off stream though so for those that watched it, they know how great it was. Congratulations to Lord Knight for taking BBCSX and CrazyApe for putting up such a great show! Thank you LazyAlchemist for the assist, especially while I was making brackets for GG. I missed most of Grand Finals for BB but I caught that last game and I'm glad I was there to catch that! Guilty Gear showed up 41 players strong! Filled with Chicago and other OG's all around and, quite the fresh amount of young blood (including me lol) to make this an interesting tournament. I know a ton of player that play a ton met early but this happens when you run a randomized bracket. Names get shuffled and I apologize for that inconvenience for you all. Congrats to AKA for taking the tournament w/o losing a set, that's insane bro, all the props to you! Also good stuff to everyone else for making this tournament probably the biggest side tournament at UFGT this year! I really wish I was able to watch Top 8 of Guilty Gear but I was helping run Persona at the time. Thank you Filthy Luker for helping me run the brackets and taking over when I was needed for Top 8 Persona! Persona was ran smoothly and we had an outstanding Top 8, everyone there was at a high skill level and that's all you can ask for in a tournament Top 8. Everyone did a great job and deserved to be there, I am glad that I was able to commentate Losers and Grand Finals for P4U with Nobodyexe, it was just too hype. Then for BananaKen becoming the first Shadow Labrys to win a Major in the US and ending it with an IK! The stream chat and Twitter blew up at that moment! Congrats to BananaKen and everyone else in Top 8 for giving us quite the highlights throughout the tournament! I would drop individual shoutouts to people but it's way too late, so I just want to say: Thank you all and I'm glad that those that aren't from the Midwest that did come out, I'm really appreciative for you guy's presence. Thanks to all the Midwest players that did show up and played their hearts out, and shoutouts to the Chicago scene for showing up and making the ASW fighters shine in the tournament! I hope I did well as your host for UFGT and if there were any issues with how things were ran, please let me know and I'll do my best to make sure it doesn't happen again. I'd like to learn from my mistakes so that the event can run as smoothy as possible for the next go-around. Thank you everyone! Well, I guess this wouldn't be a ShinSyn shoutouts post unless I ended it like usual: Shoutouts to Shoutouts. -
