  1. Madoka trailers were done that way specifically to mislead everyone into believing it to be just another mahou shoujo anime - hell, they tried hiding Gen's involvement in the project, and even after the cat got out of the bag, people had their doubts about the incoming darkness for about two episodes and a half. Now, let's see what's the purpose behind these P4U trailers. Is it to hype up the new characters? But then why would they spend time and effort on the old ones? Is it to show everyone's playstyles, say, for those who didn't play the old version? But we don't see enough gameplay to say anything concrete. That's my main problem with this whole deal - they could spend time and effort more rationally, make four to five bigger trailers while also giving us a better glimpse at the newcomers, like most other fighting games do. It's natural for people to want to learn something new from the trailers - that's their usual purpose. And thus, it's natural for them to feel disappointed when the trailer turns out to be a waste of time.

  3. What, not even for Taiga? Makes sense for them to make some characters from the rest of their recent anime series. I hope they can focus on more of their classics now.
  4. There's a thread about it at the JoJo community forums, though I'm not sure there's the one and only tier list everyone agrees with. Though to be honest, you don't need a tier list to see Joseph's strengths or Rohan's weaknesses.

  6. It was announced along with the console release itself: http://www.famitsu.com/news/201404/24052150.html Check the ダウンロード版 at the bottom.
  7. The thing I don't really like about Max is that he wants to bring all kinds of fighting games to people, but since it's hard for him to play the games he doesn't care about (which is perfectly understandable), it all comes back to SF and KI sooner or later. Because of that, I kinda have to wonder how long Xrd is going to last for him, since airdashers are not really his thing. However, he does seem to be passionate about it right now, and when Max is passionate about a game, it's infectious. Who would complain about getting more passionate Xrd players? Not me, that's for sure.
  8. 「Because he fits the same archetype and got exactly the same voice.」
  9. Considering that her name is usually spelled as Eltnam outside of UNiB, that's not something she's not used to.
  10. Because not everyone can watch Nicovideo, especially when they're not at their PC. Also, the views don't matter, spreading the word does.
  11. Byakuya reminds me of Daemon Bride's Dusk a whole lot (UZEE UZEE!), except for being voiced by Megumi Ogata's clone and having some nice traps (loved that blocking into the trap part). Since I love all of that already, I might try him out, but I'm not sure Wald and Merkava are going to leave enough space for me to pick up a third character. Nanase looks like a mix of Hyde and Linne, so I'm not too interested in her. It's another character for the newbies to pick up, which is great.
  12. To be honest, that trailer wasn't that informative as far as his playstyle goes, other than Yu's supers being his specials (and that schtick was already used by Elizabeth). His "Thrown into TV" IK and overall voice acting is amazing, but that's just not enough for me to fall in love with him. He's obviously cosplaying Terumi. Nah, it actually seems to be just a raincoat. IIRC, he wore it in the original game sometimes.

  14. I'm not sure this thread is a good place for discussing the books beyond their covers and illustrations: I feel BB has more than enough spin-offs for a separate thread by now.
  15. You have no idea what things I'd do for a Baldhead costume. Actually, simply having Faust without the bag would do the trick (the change of his character is probably too big to make a simple costume change look natural at this point). Faust deserves any amount of love he can get, even our local subforum is dead. I think he already said he couldn't. [off-topic]For anyone who cares about my opinion, the BB roll system does not actually give the player more options, since there is only one correct way to tech in most situations. If you go for it, you end up on top, if you don't, you get stuck in the vortex. There might be choice involved, but it's more like a quiz than an interview, if you know what I mean.[/off-topic]
  16. Actually, that's exactly what inspired Ishiwatari when he came up with Danger Time, at least according to one of the interviews.
  17. Here are the combos from the second wiki page. The first one is apparently outdated, so disregard it. That page also got the change log, so I translated it, too. 5B can now be held down for a feint.Ekodashiki Rocket Cannon (623B) and Ekodashiki Landmine (623C) now make the enemy drop faster.Ekodashiki Landmine (623C) can now be super-canceled.Ekodashiki Cluster (41236X) variants now float differently. B variant is now faster, while C variant is now slower. Also, C variant now floats Kira for longer.Flying Kira-sama Driver (j.214X) now has smaller horizontal hitbox and bigger vertical hitbox.B Daidohji Bunker Buster (63214B) now has shorter start-up and is now invincible from frame 2 (the exact window is not specified).C Daidohji Bunker Buster (63214C) now has shorter start-up. You can change the trajectory slightly by holding down 4 or 6 after the input.Daidohji Bunker Buster (63214X) can now be done in mid-air. All versions bring the enemy down to the ground, similar to the ground C version. The button pressed determines the move's trajectory.Flying Armageddon (j.6321463214A+B) now has bigger vertical hitbox. And the metal combos from the video. I might've written the wrong clap variants down, since it's difficult for me to see the difference. The same goes for 2B and 2E. Basically, someone better than me should double-check them in training mode just in case.
  18. I think this thread (and the subforum, for that matter) is worth reviving now that the game has been out for a while. How much Faust tech turned out to be legit by now? How different is he from his #R/AC+R versions? I'm especially interested in this since I'm going to visit Japan in about two months, and you can bet I'm going to spend some good time in the arcades with the merry doctor. I didn't watch that many videos yet, but from what I could see, neither his neutral game nor his combo routes are that different (outside of the fact that you can now spam f.S all day long without worrying about missing crouchers). HS YRC seems to have potential, as well as the door YRCs, though that one doesn't sound too different from the old FRCs, and I'm not sure those were that useful.
  19. Because having two characters with multiple floating swords clearly wasn't enough.
  20. Look at the bright side, guys: at least GG gets more coverage in America than Europe or other PAL regions!
  21. Pretty sure Rise has a non-DP barrier that gives her a special gauge at the bottom of the screen: you could see it in that recent stream.
  22. Checked the stream now, and man, Ken has everything I love about stick-wielding characters. He can poke and pull the enemy in like Faust (except that he can even do it on block), he can pole-vault like Billy Kane, and he can even Leap like a damn Final Fantasy dragoon - and that's even before you take Koromaru into account! Rise's gimmicks and Puppet Show super are interesting, but I just have to pick up Ken now, even though I'm not used to playing shadow/puppet characters.
  23. We don't have any combos transcribed anywhere, right? I might do it today or tomorrow, since I need them for myself, anyways. These are the only sources I have right now (I figured it should be enough for me at this point): http://www29.atwiki.jp/arcanaheart3/pages/294.html https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5u7O07q9xkE
  24. For the first time, maybe. I don't see any difference between a single move and a combo repeated over and over, especially when you're on the other side of it.
