  1. Famitsu got an article on CP's story mode and how it works: http://www.famitsu.com/news/201308/22038666.html In before "OMG KOKONOE AND JUBEI PLAYABLE!" - they're not.
  2. There will be more, as evidenced by some phrases like "The first shot of DLC" that go along with Shigechi's reveal. Also, guess which game got a perfect score from Famitsu: http://i.imgur.com/A39djwr.jpg
  3. So, a native American character resembles the two most iconic native Americans in videogames? Well, duh?
  4. As they say, a game that everyone likes, but nobody loves (and hates) is doomed to fail. Good point. Does that cover both specials and normals?
  5. That's way, waaaay too broad to be realistic. You need some kind of an umbrella to limit your options. Like, most of the characters mentioned so far are from the WSJ manga, and there are already plenty of games that focus on that.
  6. Even America and Japan don't understand baseball, they just pretend that they are having fun with it. It's like with that icky bitter drink called "Beer", it's all peer pressure Anyways, the question of whether or not such system is worth putting into a fighting game is all about target demographics. If most of your potential players are already in the know, they won't have any problem with understanding it. And since the two biggest fighting game markets in the world just happen to also be the two greatest baseball fanbases, it all makes sense. Though if you ask me, aiming for the greatest markets instead of aiming for ALL the markets is a pretty weird move.
  7. Huh, sounds like Shadow Kanji has his regular voice-overs for now. Makes sense for the first loketest. EDIT: And he begins the match with 0 meter
  8. Shadow Naoto: http://shoryuken.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/08/p4a-do-12.jpg Regular Naoto: http://storage.siliconera.com/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2013/08/l_520d8df2971fa.jpg
  9. - Start the fight with 100 meter, - Keep the meter between the rounds, - Don't have a burst, - Have a super-mode in burst's place that gives them infinite meter. The jury's still out on whether or not they have any other differences from the normal characters. Speaking of which, Naoto seems to have a new bullet gauge, and Shadow Naoto has a different one. What do they even do?
  10. Gives a whole new meaning to his new occupation. Where's Chidori when you need her?
  11. Huh, just noticed that the Tartarus stages have the same TV static as Labrys's school. I suppose that means they're still in the TV, it's just that the dungeon is made by a different person. P3 protag, perhaps? Also, this is the most uncomfortable screenshot I've ever seen in a fighting game. Undressing Bullet and rapist Relius be damned. http://www.4gamer.net/games/229/G022917/20130816060/screenshot.html?num=013
  12. Man, Trismegistus falls down hella fast! The movelists of the chars are out, here they are. https://twitter.com/Aristobule/status/368394290336002049/photo/1 https://twitter.com/Aristobule/status/368393966003056640/photo/1 Yukari: Furious Action: Feather☆Slasher - B+D Skills: Feather☆Arrow - 236A/B (can be done in midair) Feather☆Bomb - 214A/B Feather☆Flip - 236C/D (can be done in midair, Persona required) - Feather☆Shoot - A/B during Feather☆Flip Magaru - 214C/D (can be done in midair, Persona required) SP Skill: Hyper Feather☆Shoot - 236236A/B (can be done in midair) Awakening SP Skill: Magarula - 214214C/D (Persona required)
  13. In the Kanji thread? Though it's not confirmed or anything, and the second sentence is just me speculating. At the very least, I'd just like Kanji to have better range on his pokes.
  14. I love that Kanji's 5A is now the second hit of his old auto-combo. Better range, better combo options (maybe perhaps?), better damage.
  15. Those are both specials, I believe.
  16. Lastly, the individual characters impressions, some of which have already been posted. All characters: New moves added. Auto-combos mostly changed. Yu: Can now feint Raging Lion (B). Chie: SP God Hand hits twice? Yukiko: Maragi’s explosion can now be delayed by holding down the button. Has a new “Firebird!” line. Yosuke: Has a new auto-combo during Sukukaja. Kanji: Can use command throws even during Persona Break. Teddie: Can use All-Out Attack in midair. Naoto: Can now attack with her parry even if the enemy doesn’t hit her by inputting an additional command. Akihiko: Max Cyclone level is now 5. 2C is now an anti-air throw. Mitsuru: Specific B specials can now be cancelled by holding down the button for long enough. Aigis: Two new special moves (a command throw and a dodge). Labrys: The R-Action becomes unblockable if charged for long enough. Elizabeth: All skills get improved in Awakening. Shadow Labrys: Two new specials added (a rocket-punch and an anti-air grab).
  17. New character 2: Yukari Takeba Persona: Isis After graduation, Yukari’s been working as an actress in various super-sentai shows. This time, she’s wearing a Featherman suit. She even wears the mask, though she takes it off before the fight begins. A strong-minded young woman that hails from Persona 3. Since she fights with a bow, she makes for a good zoning character. She combines various long-ranged attacks with applying various status ailments (such as charm and confusion). If the arrow passes through the special Garu swirl, it becomes enchanted and tracks down the opponent! Most of Yukari’s attacks are long-ranged projectiles. I had fun shooting the opponent down! A button normals: Yukari kicks at the enemy’s feet. B button normals: On the ground, Yukari shoots an arrow upwards. You can hold down the button, too! In midair, you can change the angle of the shot by tilting the stick. C button normals: Isis creates a Garu swirl that attacks the enemy. Special move 1: Yukari shoots an arrow straight forward. You can charge this move, too. Special move 2: Isis creates a ball of wind and throws it in a parabolic trajectory. Special move 3: Yukari covers the arrow with some kind of poison? The exact properties of this move are unknown. SP Skill 1: An arrow that tracks the opponent’s position. It’s shot really, really fast! Awakening SP Skill: A huge tornado appears on the screen. The exact position depends on the button pressed. R-Action: A dashing attack that gets Yukari behind the opponent. That’s all. Sorry for not trying so much stuff! (Especially the D normals). Yukari can create Garu spheres all over the screen. It seems you can also do it in midair. An explosion of a flashy special move! Of course, the cut-in is there, too. Yukari has some melee attacks and throws, too. Though difficult, it seems that she’s able of fighting up close, too.
  18. New character 1: Junpei Iori Persona: Trismegistus Junpei now works as a coach for a schoolboy baseball team. His battle style is also closely connected to baseball. A cheerful young man, Junpei is dressed in baseball clothes, so it is not surprising that he also has a special baseball gauge (that you can see on the screenshots). This gauge has a scoreboard that keeps track of the score accumulated by hitting the enemy with specific special moves. When the score is high enough, the character’s performance improves. Swing that bat, whoosh, whoosh! As in the original game, Trismegistus has some fire attacks. Though I didn’t examine this character in great detail, there is a super-move that gives you a whole bunch of points. After getting about 10 points, Junpei also started shining? He feels like a powerful close-ranged fighter with the emphasis on powerful single attacks. You can also use that back to strike back various projectiles shot at you! A button normals: bare-handed attacks. The reach is pretty short? Ah, you can also do a dive kick similar to Narukami’s in the air! B button normals: attacks with the bat. Have the best reach in Junpei’s arsenal. C button normals: Trismegistus attacks by shooting fire. D button normals: Trismegistus rushes forward. Special move 1: Junpei swings at the enemy with a bat. This is the special at the end of the AAAA combo. Special move 2: Junpei slides forward! Hits low and low-profiles many moves. It also feels like you can follow it up after a dash… (doesn’t remember clearly) Special move 3: Junpei assumes the bunting pose. It has a hitbox, since I was able to reflect the enemy projectile with this. Special move 4: Junpei strikes a pose, as Trismegistus falls down on the enemy. The distance depends on the button pressed. SP Skill 1: A fiery swing full of excitement! You can also hold down the button. R-Action: Charge the power and swing with the bat! You can hold it for quite a while, too. There was a lot of other stuff, but I couldn’t check it out… Sorry! Junpei strikes the “Safe!” pose, and the Persona falls on the enemy. The opponent is certainly going to be surprised by this. The sliding that every baseball fan loves so much! Junpei is shining, but is that because it’s the victory pose?..
  19. Finally at home, getting to the translations straight away.
  20. Lots of goodness here, I'll translate it when I get home (in about 3 hours).
  21. No he isn't.
  22. I feel so bad about living in a country that doesn't care about baseball, since I'll never understand Junpei's system and its clever references
  23. Finally, a good poke. I couldn't ask for more.
  24. Just like baseball itself, really. Basically, you get points when you hit them with the bat. When you get enough points, your moves level up.
