  1. there is nothing that can't be explained from watching N-O, probably the best rachel in the world currently or at least japan. her neutral is mostly the same. since you know what works and what doesn't between games, this should work decently. thats the video part. if you like reading, check out my updated version of the mixup/pressure guide here: http://www.dustloop.com/forums/showthread.php?16117-CSE-Rachel-Mix-ups-Pressure-Compendium-%28Restored-ver-%29 it has all the info you need for opening people up. lastly there is sakaku's (also updated) guide that covers the zoning and defense aspect of the neutral, here: http://www.dustloop.com/forums/showthread.php?14170-CSE-Rachel-Gameplay-Guide combined there is pretty much nothing these guides don't cover. sakaku's looks prettier, lol - l hope you don't mind my bland text, i'm not really into decorating.
  2. quick question, how good is bullet on the offensive? right now she looks rather underwhelming. pressure looks very short and mixup is... l dunno. awful? or just not so great.

    [CSE] Rachel vs. Litchi

    some more stuff the safest way for litchi to deal with george is by using 2d set four winds. two hits kill him (it does 4 hits in 2d set). if you see her use it near george and you arent in its path, resummon george right away. four winds will whiff. dp safe setup is to wind pumpkin at them while barrier blocking. not as effective here since we cant mixup litchi well yet but useful occasionally. also beats backdash and jump. crossup also beats dp but loses to the latter options mixup between triangle jump/j. 236a/b/summon in neutral. on the ground, a pre-emptive 6cd beats all her staff normals, particularly 3c and 2b. 236ad wont beat these two as reliably so use accordingly.
  5. I could see the general changes being what make her strong. In cs2 and cse she was practically the same, even now she was balanced with some great buffs and some noticeable nerfs. It was just odd to me that rachel being top tier would be based to the buffs she received, because while they are certainly great for her, I don't feel like they would make her top tier. High tier, yes. Like being able to convert air hits, new lobelias/lotus, 6a... Very good for her. But system changes being the reason would make some sense. In the other games, Rachel's defense really sucked because of how the guard systems worked and tended to favors the fat health guys. Now everyone only has to watch out for crush trigger and other very specific moves like plat's hammer and sword of decimation. She still can't break out of pressure well but some of that pressure is relieved with new barrier block and how crush trigger works. Besides, rachel can usually avoid having to block for entire rounds with her amazing rushdown and zoning. This wasn't supposed to turn into paragraphs lol

  9. Itsuu loses to 2d which I kept expecting you to do. The recovery is ultra shitty on whiff and anyway I felt like 3c[m] and 6b[m] could have been used better in those games. I kept throwing them out and hoping they worked. They didn't. The matches were fun but I need to learn how to counter ragna better, at least with litchi. I will figure it out eventually.
  10. ggs crossfire. yeah im still working on the litchi vs ragna matchup, not quite sure how to play the neutral, and waiting for you to approach wasnt really working as l wanted. she isn't at all like relius here, its like his gameplan is ABC and hers is trigonometry lol l should have saved some of those matches too, but eh.

  17. it depends on crossfire because l dont mind either, as long as there are 3 people max to minimize the chances of lag.
  18. Alright. Funny I was hoping exactly before 5 lol... Anyway cool. How's around 8 or 9 sound? Ill be on for a while tonight so anytime after 8 pretty much. (I was going to propose from 2:30 to 5 range, before I had to go out.)
  19. That can't be right, 5b and 6a should have n combo ratings. Also, apparently 2c ch 2d straight into jc 2d lv2 j2c works as evidenced by some pink rachel that I watched last night (could be rin but doesn't seem so... Probably is. Ill link the video later). So it's pretty much still the same with probably even less reward with how heat works now. Oh well.
  20. so, looking through the new frame data is interesting. besides 5a, 2a, ja, and pumpkin starters, the rest of her normals and specials have a N (normal) combo rating... this obviously has it's ups and downs with a few moves that were both buffed and nerfed simultaneously (lol). also interesting is that the new smp system, if im reading this correctly, has 3 levels which affects the combo differently. so, example, 5cc cannot be used twice at all anymore, but 3c and 236a wont necessarily end a combo (as evidenced a few days ago). that bit was unrelated to the question l want to ask, which is, 2c, having a S combo rating and already taking 2 seconds after the hit for downtime... l mean, do we still get a decent meterless combo from it?
  21. the hitboxes on those attacks look like they are going to be insane, causing all types of bs. very nice design in general.
  22. Yeah, hibiki. Seems like you guys may be on the same page. A darker, younger character ought to spice up this story nicely. Carl doesn't quite do it, though that might be because of his potential not maturing quite to that level yet. dont mind my speculation, he could end up being another linhua, it was just be cooler if he was a possible threat.
  23. New guy reminds me of an older Carl, same calm calculation and yet, sinister. Like he could murder someone without hesitation if necessary.

  25. that's quite alright, seeing as how we both seem to have overslept. perhaps a later time would be more appropriate. next day i'm fully available is thursday, so everyone, bust out the notes and get to training. l look forward to several good fights.
