Force Break. lol. Jam's movement is too good though. And yeah her 2S has been beast forever.. somebody earlier said Slayer had no options on wakeup except supers, that's incorrect. He can BDC out of your oki. You have to anticipate this and air throw, maybe 2HS or just get out of the way - you're not beating the j.HS from that angle.

Happy birthday kenmastersex

1 frame jump, IB, slashback, DA, FD, uppercut, there's plenty of options...you just have to know the right one. Generally though I just block and wait for a hole to knock them down, throw, stun dipper under something, sweep, etc.

Ky's never been known for good damage output outside of cranked guard bar. Remember those grade letter rankings for average damage? Ky had one of the lowest, yes, but he's pretty good at effectively using and gaining meter, poking, okizeme and other things. His damage output was reduced from Slash, yeah, but damaging combos wasn't what made him good anyway.

So the April 2007 one still stands then? ok thanks.
-
But see, that looks like the 2004 list cited on the first page whereas Sytha posted something very different from Howard Arena per 4/2007. shrug At any rate, I don't think it's any worse as far as balance than XI or Coliseum. Quite possibly better.

so what's the current tier list for this game? Last conversation we had about it in NC, people were telling me Jenet is mid tier after I said she looked the most scary to me. I've heard Kevin has 9:1s against most of the cast, which I can tell isn't true. Give me a source or something.
-
Yeah I'm going to FR and entering this. So are like, eh...four or five of my NC brethren. maybe more than that.
-
Yeah, all the known/good Arcana players hail from the areas where there were machines anyway. NC is pretty strong, but not at NY level.

Kim's pants have more animation than some entire characters. zerokage, you mean qcbC > level 2 life steal? I never do that, lol. I do remember noticing in training that the cancel was difficult for some reason. Close D > far D > super is tough too. My pad is a bit busted however.

A lot of the cast wouldn't have an offense if it didn't.

I was talking mostly about America, but yes, you're right. If it had been bigger overseas, it would have subsequently been a bigger deal over here. I think another issue with NGBC not doing so well over there would be that it, XI and Tenka were released within months of each other, the other two games belonging to big franchises people care about whereas Coliseum being seen as, if anything, an SvC sequel. We know it's not so much that, but still. Similarly, Coliseum may have done better if it was released -before- XI in the States. I really can't complain, I expected XI to get more attention and it should, really, but it was mildly depressing for me to look forward to it ending up in our stores but there being no press and some of the major US review sites haven't even given it a review still. Anyway, play more Coliseum. At tournaments North Carolina goes to. So we can take your money.

Yeah, I wasn't contesting that. But there are a lot more scrubs (for lack of a better term) that buy the games than people that play the games well, and scrubs care about characters. The "jump around and do random cool stuff" playstyle applies to any fighting game to them. I meant the game "doing well" in the context of selling well to the general fanbase/casual gamers. I doubt any of them have ever thought "Wow, this plays like Street Fighter!" More like "Wow, Mai's tits have a lot of frames of animation!" edit for Blade: Yeah, there are japanese matches with Ai/Yuki. Generally, Yuki has a decent array of gimmicks, but hardly anything solid and his mian character trait and flaw is relying heavily on charging. He's like a Slash Robo Ky or something. Ai has amusing shenanigans and an infinite.

I would think it'd be the other way around as far as the character roster, Coliseum has the widest array of SNK characters in a fighting game. XI has a lot of KOF classics in it, but is also missing a lot of them shrug. NGBC would have done better if it was named KOF: Battle Coliseum or some shit like that lol.
-
we could try to discuss the matchup and stop calling each other on trivial things like this but we always do that so shrug
-
I completely agree with that. NGBC just fits my style a lot more, and even the games that aren't spacing/footsie oriented, I still mostly play them that way.

I recall this happening twice, and he doesn't randomly VV. It was near the tip of the hitbox, too. I don't do f.S often though, I hate the move.

GOT SHINY DIAMONDS LIKE THE EYES OF THE CAT IN THE BLACK AND BLUE I can't believe you guys used that song. Me and my brother have been poking fun at that band since before the internet.

Think I'm with Jeremy here. f.S in general kinda blows imo, I don't use it for anything except in rare cases when I need a poke where 5HS won't quite reach. Blake can VV f.S on reaction. 10 frames isn't exactly fast in this game. I'd agree that backdash/getting away is the best thing you can do at match start and yes, keeping Sol away is the most important thing. Yes, Sol's 2D completely dodges VT at any range. Your options as you're waking up to a Sol 2D are either block or RTL. GS does go over gunflame, but if you misstime it, lol gg. He should have FRCd it anyway, so if he sees/anticipates the GS, he can punish it regardless. It was mentioned earlier that 2S can stop GV, yeah, but this is also really good and worth mentioning: Sol players love seeing Ky's CSE startup from far enough away for them to GV under it, but in this game you can activate the force break whicih GV will not go under and give you a free combo, and likely a better combo/situation than if you just FRCd CSE, which could still possibly end up getting you hurt if you misstime what you wanted to do to beat it/don't block. Also speaking of punishing GV, I like 5HS > sweep. Be sure to knock him down at least. I'm sure you can get more with IB/slashback, if you don't mind the risk/practice it. If they're doing BR pressure for some reason, VT it. 2H works better than 6P for AA imo, be careful with anti air VT and Sol's j.HS instant recovery properties. In general, you want to play safe, keep him away, watch for throw if he gets close. Like somebody else said, SE FRC is really good here, but where is it not? Same with Mystic Cross.

That list with Liesoletetelatajdlkasjtls at the bottom must have been from an anime con or something. AH2 is gonna be so great. I can feel it in my nether(lands) regions.

Kira's that low? wtf
-
that's somewhat how I see it too, at least compared to GG.
-
I play Fire Fiona and...Fire Fiona.
-
I would think it's more a matter of which characters get knockdowns easiest/have fast IKs.

lol yep. I like how he puts "Master" behind certain bad characters in tier lists, as if one is not already to assume that a character's tier ranking represents his/her highest potential. MASTER Athenas apparently do random mermaid uppercuts a lot :D
