  3. Okay that makes sense. None of the people I was using it on were ducking it, I'll have to let them know how to get around it. I hadn't really thought about it myself. Too bad though, but maybe there's still some way to sneak in a shorter IAD j2C if people are conditioned to duck the crossup jC. Overall though it's probably not worth bothering with when you can just sit across the screen and throw shit or just run up and do 3C/TK overhead mixups off of 2C.
  4. I was messing around with IAD crossup j.C and was wondering if there was a reason nobody seems to use it. You can land and combo into 3C > 236D > RC > 5DD > etc for about 3600+ so it seems odd that I haven't seen anyone use it or even talk about it.
  5. If you want to be silly you can beat ice car clean by just hitting the tip of it with 5a. I love to see the looks on people's faces when they experience this for the first time.
  6. Most air combos are j.DD jc j.2DD, if you just do j.DD jc j.DD it will usually whiff because they are too low.

  8. -made out of paper -not as good up close -zoning has a few holes -whiffed swords have a lot of recovery so you can often smack her in the face I have never seen a V13 play like that before, pretty impressive stuff. Also lolraep. And did I see a Dizzy j.2S-style crossup vs Noel?

    lol that HOS was just begging for a coffin reversal in the face. Remind him that just because you're Dizzy that doesn't mean he can simply throw random crap out at you and expect it to be effective pressure. Also don't do obvious j.2S/j.H jump-ins against characters who can uppercut you in the face. I don't think it's a particularly effective tactic even against people who can't. And like Stag said, be more patient with blocking and use the tk bubble > backdash j.S. That's all I got because I suck too.

  12. I've been trying to come up with some sort of okizeme to use on Baiken, but for obvious reasons it's fairly difficult. I recently had the idea of simply summoning a bubble right on top of her and then either popping it in the air or landing and doing a low/throw mixup. I messed around with it in training mode a bit, but it just seems too simple and there must be some horrible flaw I'm overlooking, but it seems like the amount of damage you can do off of TK bubble pop > 421S > air combo/bubble loop would make the Baiken player at least a little hesitant to attack you before you have landed for the ground mixup. I was wondering if it was at least worth doing occasionally, or if there's some fatal weakness that makes it unusable.
  13. When I do bubble loops I just use the S bubble so I can hold the air spike and then negative edge the bubble when I release it. I only do bubble loops off of a random hit with the air spike on its way up or 6P > air spike corner combos though so it might not work as well in all situations.

And screw the timing on Gilgamesh's Gate of Babylon mode 5B>2B>2C combo, I give up on him. I still need to find a second character to play who is better than Sakura.
  15. This game might be the least horrible-feeling 3D fighter I've ever played. It does seem a bit heavy on the combos and light on the strategy, but it's still pretty fun. I just need to figure out how to make Sakura do damage, I can only get about 1800 or so with the Lieselotte loops. Go go gadget match videos.
  16. Of course, it would be Slash. The one game I never owned a real copy of and my burn is all sorts of scratched up (choose Sol vs Ky and you get Faust vs Sol, where all Faust's inputs do glitchy pogo shit and then the game freezes from too many lulz)
  17. Does anyone remember which game had the Mango Dizzy (orange clothes blue hair)? I swear I remember seeing it before but I can't find it in reload or AC, and I don't have any of the others handy to check.

I usually end up using EX P White Dizzy, since that is the costume input I use for a number of other characters like Slayer and Ky and it's become a habit, plus I've noticed that most characters get at least a decent color set for that so it's a safe choice when I can't remember specific ones. Sometimes I also use gold Dizzy (not GOLD gold), red/black goth Dizzy, and Easter Dizzy with the pale green/blue/yellow colors. You would think that by now I would have her colors memorized, but I guess I don't usually care which colors I get aside from EX P Slayer, Reload K Faust, and Reload S ghost Potemkin.

    There's a slight chance I might be playing on an XX cabinet in a few weeks, what are some important differences between XX and #R (if any)? I assume icespike FRC timing has been unchanged since XX. Didn't think it needed yet another old version thread. Thanks in advance.
  21. Just some random thoughts I had the other day: -FB multi-summon: simultaneously summons air pike and fish, which can be held/given multiple instructions as usual or whatever. Maybe even throw a bubble summon in there too, who knows (Fish+pike+scythe+bubble summon Overdrive? LOL) -DP: someone mentioned giving Dizzy a DP a little while ago. I was thinking it could be interesting if they added some attack frames/invulnerability to the beginning of the air pike summon, I don't think I've ever heard of a DP with projectile summon in any game and it could be an interesting way of escaping pressure while simultaneously reversing the flow of the match. Might be strong enough to be a force break, who knows. Plus it would probably need a new animation that might be more interesting. For example, Undine thrusts one of her wings forward which morphs into a cluster of sharp crystals (attack frames), then yanks one out and releases it as pike summon.
  22. This. ESPECIALLY this. #R Dizzy with AC and Slash improvements would be much more of an AC-style character. And goddamnit I want another ground overhead. If these things happened I would gladly drop Faust as a dual-main and just play Dizzy. And if the FRC window for icespike was increased I might never play any other fighting games ever again. Now for completely fair and balanced additions: -2H as an unprorated overhead. Hilarious 2H FRC > 2K/2H and 2K > 2H/2D mixup shenanigans ensue. -FB version of the big goofy arm attack that replaces icespike in old EX Dizzy (haven't tried AC+ EX Dizzy yet). Untechable wallslam allows for 50% life followup combo. -Gamma ray fires instantaneously without initial targeting lasers. Input simplified to 632146H. Automatically dizzies opponent on hit. -Alternate version of grab super that places a fake hole on the ground that disappears and reappears above the opponent's head, causing them to be grabbed if they jumped and allowing for 50/50 mixup with the overdrives. EDIT: Dizzy also needs a Potemkion Buster
