I wish I had a link to that video "review" where that one guy says GG sucks because he can beat his buddy by mashing testament's f.S

Very interesting combo at 2:44 of this match http://gamenyarth.blog67.fc2.com/blog-entry-4926.html?id=sm8917054 I'm wondering about all the dropped throw combos, you could do throw > 6DD > 2DD > 6C > 2DD > aircombo in the location tests. That also happens to be my current throw combo so I was hoping it would make the cut.

Now that ground wheel has multiple hits it seems possible to hit confirm it into girugamesh super. I'm pretty sure I have seen this done a few times but the only really clear look I have got of it involved the 236D guardbreaking the other person with 236D, but it looked like the last hit still comboed into super after the guardbreak. Hopefully more players will experiment with this as it seems like it could have a lot of potential.

Do any of you know if any GG gets played at the Arcade Legends Thursday gatherings? It's only two hours away from me, which is closer than pretty much anything else. I asked this in the Cincinatti SRK thread, but I figured here might be more appropriate.

Keep in mind that you can avoid losing your last guard primer by barrier guarding, assuming they keep that feature in the final build.

Also the infamous j.2DD j.214DC j.2DD blockstring to keep pressure on and land safely.

Dizzy is a fun character to learn the game with. I learned both GG and fighting games in general with her, and it forced me to learn about things like okizeme, meaty attacks, tick throws, and mixup much sooner, because you really can't run around and carelessly push buttons with her and expect to not get smacked in the face. Fortunately this forum has some nice resources like this: http://www.dustloop.com/forums/showthread.php?t=3473

It's all my fault, most things I like just seem to end up unpopular. Sorry guys.

I thought we were past this shit by now. On topic, I have only seen like two or three videos of CS Lambda, is that all we've got?

Since the AH2 PS2 port is garbage, I guess if you were going to run it you would just use Arcana Heart Full, unless people REALLY want to play AH2. I'm not sure how many people in the area even play Arcana Heart so it might not be worth doing, but then again, a tournament with just a few people takes little time/effort to run so leaving it in might not be a big deal anyway. Melty Blood Actress Again just came out on ps2, and it includes an "original" mode (the US community standard) which is not available on an arcade machine. Practically no one in the US has access to a cabinet anyway. Also, there are a few unlockable characters, I don't know how many people actually play as them but having access to save data for the game would probably be a good idea. Rules (edit: I checked the SRK threads for these games so these rules should be accurate. it's up to you if you want to make the finals best 3/5 or whatever): MBAA: Archetype Earth is banned. Best 2/3 rounds, best 2/3 matches. Loser may switch character and moon style, winner must keep their character but may change moon style. Original mode. Arcana Heart: Best 2/3 rounds, best 2/3 matches. Loser may switch character/arcana. Winner must keep their character but may change arcana. Vanilla AH characters are banned, AH Full only. No banned arcanas.

It's not as complex as GG (then again, few games are) but it is certainly much more so than BlazBlue. Your character/arcana choice can also have a major effect on how simple/complicated it is. In terms of complexity among the "fast-paced combo-oriented" genre of fighting games, the order of complexity goes something like this: GGXXAC Arcana Heart 2 Melty Blood: Actress Again BlazBlue Of course I'm leaving out a ton of doujin games and stuff like MvC2/TvC, but basically those are the most popular of what you might call GG clones.

I guess it's just pretty tight timing, I can do it like 20% of the time now. I also found that the alternative method of using 2S or 5P after landing from the j.H makes it much easier to connect with the air combo. I don't know if it prorates more or something but it's much more reliable if you have sloppy execution like me.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SY8hNsEtCF0&feature=related#t=3m02s I have been trying to do this combo for a long time now and I can't seem to get it to work. I have tried all sorts of different timing/positioning but I can never get past the icespike FRC IAD j.2S j.H land j.K part, Johnny always seems to recover before the j.k comes out. So now I guess it's about time to come bother people on the internet because I can't figure it out. Any tips/suggestions/etc would be appreciated.

Tier lists are almost always based on opinion as much as they are on actual data, so coming up with one "official" list is pretty much impossible. What we have in the first post are a variety of both top players' opinions and tier lists made by groups of top Japanese players. If you look at all of them, especially the most recent ones, you can see general trends in where a particular character is usually placed and get a fair idea of where the overall competitive community believes that character belongs on the tier list. Ogawa's list is just the most recent one, so it is bolded while the others are grayed out.

Nerfs or Buffs each character should recieve, GGAC Edition
Effenhoog replied to shinquickman's topic in Archive
I just want a good ground overhead for Dizzy. It just seems like, as a character who specializes in pressure/mixup, she should be able to do the same thing that other characters like Millia/Testament can do simply by hitting forward and a button, instead of being forced into the more awkward IAD 2S mixups. They could even make it prorate like Testament's 6P if they wanted to, that way IAD 2S mixups would still have a purpose. And while they're at it I suppose they could buff her supers and give back her old 2D range. And maybe even bring back the 2H>2D gatling. -

What is the IRC channel for dustloop anyway? I remember there being one years ago but I can't seem to find it these days. -

I basically double main Faust and Dizzy. In casuals I play Dizzy most of the time, and even at tournaments I usually start with Dizzy and then switch to Faust after I lose the first match. I have yet to win a tournament match with Dizzy. -

IMO Faust can be played to the highest levels of proficiency with the least overall execution requirements. He has pretty much no commonly-used FRCs and the timing on most of his combos is not particularly strict. The only important "hard" thing he has is FD drill cancels which isn't really that hard in the grand scheme of GG execution. I main Dizzy and have put in 1000+ hours of training with her, but when tournament time comes around I play Faust, who I practice with at most 1/3 as much as Dizzy, and I do way better. You can do quite a bit with Potemkin too without learning some of his harder techniques, and hammerfall FRC isn't really that hard, plus you can always just wait until you have 50% meter so that can you can still be safe with an RC if you miss the FRC window. -
Hey guys, I'm going to be playing in tournament in about a week and there's a good chance I'll be fighting against a good Axl player. I have never fought against an Axl before, are there any general tactics I could apply or be aware of to increase my chances?

I thought it was someone else that I had not heard of before. http://slep.ru/sbo/2007_gg.html according to this it was someone called Shoudji (shouji?). EDIT: Further searching has also uncovered the name Niku-Q which sounds familiar

Chances are about .00000001% of that happening.

It's still something of an anomaly since there were only one or two Dizzies in SBO for the last 3 years or so. Most of them were out after the first round so who knows what that means as far as how good she is or how good japan is at using her It seems like SBO character popularity and results have become pretty unpredictable since the year Ogawa/Niga/some other guy won with ED/SL/TE. I remember one year there were like 8 or 9 Fausts even though he's not that high on the tier list either.
