  1. For some reason I got the feeling that Ragna still doesn't give it his all when fighting Jin, even discounting him not using the Azure Grimoire. In CT that is. In CS, he's almost certainly going easy on Jin due to Jin's wounds/Jin not using Yukianesa. I don't remember any hard evidence at this time. Of course, they could be fairly evenly matched and Jin being so badly injured by CS doesn't refute that. Ragna could've gotten a few particularly hard hits on Jin, much like how Ragna is much stronger than Carl but he was hurt very badly by Nirvana's lucky strike. It's a fighting game so everything is kind of murky though. I think Yukianesa going berserk is something abnormal though, and probably requires a lot of seithr. Also it was kind of a joke ending so. There's no accurate measure of how strong current Ragna is compared to current Jin, unless you go by Azrael beating up Jin with relative ease while--oh god no I don't want more power debates noooo
  2. What's he supposed to say? Especially when he tells Jin to save Ragna, and Jin interprets this as "kill Ragna to save Ragna." Both Ragna and Jin are stubborn bastards, and not even all of Jubei's teachings penetrated Ragna's skull after 5 years. His crazy mode around Noel and Nu was so bizarre that I was a little creeped out. Particularly Nu, given the strong implication that it's one of Saya's memories surfacing. Around Ragna, he's supposed to seem desperate, especially in CS--you know, the game where Jin was getting pushed around by everyone because he didn't give himself enough time to recuperate. Ragna is more pissed at Jin than annoyed, and in CS he's mad at Jin being in his way. If Jin wasn't like that, Ragna would still be just as annoyed. I doubt Ragna could walk all over Jin anymore. It's probably a more even fight. Jerk is not going to change anytime soon (Hakumen is a total douchebag too), power of order is something extremely situational and is something that not even Hakumen has mastered, etc etc. What epic stuff? Giving a speech about how he'll save Tsubaki and Ragna and that he's given up on apathy is epic now? You say that like Jin had any dignity in the first place Also no that's so bad. "I don't like an aspect of this character so I hope he dies." I hate Noel's breast angst too, but I don't want her to die. @mAc Chaos: Jin certainly thinks that Ragna wasn't giving it his all in CT. [ Ragna ] How... How did I lose...to you...! [ Jin ] Brother... Don't tell me this is all you've got. ...Why don't you use that Azure Grimoire of yours? You weren't holding back, were you? [ Ragna ] AAAGH! You piece of shit... [ Jin ] Hahahaha... I guess... You're just gonna die to me again... In CS, Jin was hampered by his wounds in Ragna's story mode, and couldn't even wield Yukianesa in his own. I think it's like 6-4 with the match being in Ragna's favor, without using the Azure Grimoire. With it it'd be like 8-2. idk in CP, maybe like 5-5. edit: shit this post was long, maybe it'd be better to take it to pm or something so I can stop tl;dring in a thread.
  3. He fights Ragna because Ragna is right in front of him and why wouldn't he fight him? I don't think he even puts his all into the fight, considering he has other shit to do. Arcade mode has never really shown any differences in the characters. Everybody but Tsubaki/Izayoi is static in arcade mode. Considering this, Jin actually willingly backing off from Ragna after fighting him in favor of going after Tsubaki is huge.
  4. A little over a month. CT takes place almost entirely on 12/31. CS takes place from 1/1 to 1/7, with the parts that take place afterward (Carl leaving Kagutsuchi, Ragna and Tao leaving, etc), happening anytime from 1/8 to like 1/10 or something. There are some oddballs like the beginning of Lambda's story mode which is supposed to take place shortly after the Ikaruga Civil War, and Makoto's story which is 12/31. Most of the dates for CP are very early February (2/2, 2/3, 2/4), but there are flashbacks and time distortions that are earlier. I think Bullet's is on 1/31. Jin was actually knocked out cold for several days after CT, and then he probably spent at least a couple days in Ronin-Gai. Then the last two or so days were spent chasing after Ragna. There's an official timeline in the various Setting Material Collections but I'm not on my computer right now. Just note that the timeline provided in CTSMC and translated by Suzaku hasn't been 100% accurate since some of its information has been retconned by CSSMC.
  5. He speaks to Ragna normally because Ragna was very badly injured and he was pissed at Noel for doing that. Jin wants to see Ragna die, but he also wants to fight him himself. He gets pissed at the thought of someone else hurting or killing Ragna. Killing a defenseless Ragna wouldn't be fun at all. Jin has changed. Just him wanting to save Tsubaki first--putting Ragna on the backburner--is a pretty big step. Before, Jin hardly spared a thought for her if he had Ragna on his mind (literally, in CTR he idly thinks to himself that he feels like he should have a reaction towards her, but instead he feels nothing). This is the part I vehemently disagree with. There is no reversion going on. This aspect of Jin has never really changed in the first place. He's gotten less obsessive, but around Ragna he is still crazy. Which again--hasn't changed from CS. Reversion would be something like him going after Ragna no matter what, with no other care in the world. Reversion would be him being completely apathetic about everything else. This is not the case.
  6. I think that's just one of the things about Jin that's unlikely to change short of a monumental disaster (think Hakumen). He seems to have hardly thought about Ragna at all during the academy, but now that he knows that Ragna is around he can't stop. It's almost a compulsion for him. He JUMPED OUT OF AN AIRSHIP in CS in order to get to him. I think even CS arcade describes his hunt for Ragna as being "drawn by an invisible unknown force." Fwiw, I think he actually sounds a little more rational in CP. He actually comes across as almost sane when not around Ragna.
  7. Unlikely to happen, given that if anything they've played it up (CT vs CTR for instance). He becomes a schoolgirl to you? Well, maybe if your average schoolgirl is armed with a sword and is ready and very willing to to eviscerate her crush. If you're talking about his moans and heavy breathing, idk, take it up with Kakki and the voice director.
  8. lol no Jin's problems go deeper than Yukianesa. He is literally psychotic when it comes to Ragna. Yukianesa may have made it worse, but even without its influence he wants to kill Ragna. In CS arcade he overcomes Yukianesa's influence through sheer force of will and is as crazy as ever. In CS story mode he overcomes Yukianesa's influence and still wants to kill Ragna. Go through and play his story mode. When Ragna says they'll fight later, Jin gets very excited at the thought of Ragna actually putting his all into it. When Hakumen confronts him in the Cauldron, he says he wants to kill Ragna. It's not like Jin ever stopped wanting to kill Ragna--that was fanon. It didn't invalidate any of his CS character development because he never got past wanting to kill Ragna in the first place. They don't fight for "literally no reason," they fight because Jin wants to kill Ragna and Ragna isn't ready to die just yet. He's not even super dedicated to killing Ragna right now. He wants to save Tsubaki first AND THEN come back and skewer Niisan. iirc, in his arcade quote he still says something about how Ragna better not die to anyone else and gives one of his creepy laughs. It's possible Jin will lose a little of his fervor towards Ragna, but he's probably always going to have a brother complex. Dude needs years of therapy and some Zyprexa.
  9. Then suggest something else to talk about instead of complaining about it.
  10. Hating Noel is like hating a handicapped dumb puppy. "Why are you so dumb, puppy? You're so stupid! /kick" Meanwhile, all it can do at you is cringe and whine in complete bewilderment. Ironically, despite being Mori's waifu, she actually hasn't done much. Outside of saving Ragna in CT, things have only been happening to her. She did get a powerup in the form of CP Mu, but then Jin kind of stole her thunder with saving Tsubaki when she took that form in the first place to save Tsubaki so it's like what the hell was even the point of that. But then, Izayoi seems poorly handled in the arcade too imo. I like her character arc of becoming a stronger person + becoming less passive, but damn did it take a while to actually become obvious. Also, her personality IS kind of moeblobbish at times. Plus she is...not the brightest crayon in the box! No really, she comes off as a little dumb.
  11. Mostly has to do with Noel, the Murakumo Units, and Terumi. I think Ragna was on the fence about Noel before CS's plot really started up. She looks just like Saya, and that's a big warning flag for being a Murakumo Unit, but the Azure Grimoire has no reaction to her and she's not crazy so he can't be sure. She still really unsettles him, and well--Ragna doesn't warm up to people easily. So he tells her to gtfo without giving her any explanations. I truly think that if Ragna hadn't really met Noel beforehand, he would've just killed Mu in the Cauldron instead of trying to reverse her tempering. Lambda-Nu's sacrifice probably also had an effect on softening his heart to Murakumo Units. When he speaks to Nu in CT, he refuses to even acknowledge her as human. He says he's here to destroy her--not kill, because killing is for people. Judging by Nu's comments about the times they met previously, he really flipped out on her unfinished bodies too. Basically, before CS Ragna thinks that all Murakumo Units should be destroyed. By the end of it, he doesn't hold on so strongly to this viewpoint. Like I said, it's mostly minor. Jin's character development is much more obvious. I think that he also becomes a little calmer by CP, but that probably had to do with giving Terumi a well-deserved beating. I know I would be much calmer after that! @TPPR10: The power of order is meant to counter anomalies like Ragna, not things out of balance like the NOL.
  12. To be fair, the number of people Jin actually, really cares about is a whopping two. Two. Maybe three if you count Makoto. Ragna's character development has also been more subtle and low-key than Jin's.
  13. What no yes he did it of his own free will. It's only AFTER he kills Tenjou does Hazama pop up (in his ghost form) and goes SURPRISE and eats his memories. It is pretty funny how Memory of Blue didn't romanticize Ragna's destruction of the Akitsu NOL branch at all, but the actual games completely gloss over it. then again, his behavior is at odds with some of the stuff in Memory of Blue. I don't think it was really retconned out, but that's impossible to know unless a Japanese speaker goes over Hazama's dialogue to Noel in CTR. Personally, I don't think you get the name Grim fucking Reaper without actually reaping a few people. The notion that Ragna didn't kill anybody in Akitsu or the previous NOL branch he destroyed (don't remember its name) is boggling. eh, likely enough the only truly innocent characters in BB are Bang and Tao anyway.
  14. He did, actually. Ragna was supposed to kill Terumi. He just beat him into the pavement instead, but Terumi knew that Ragna would win. In any case, Ragna couldn't activate the Idea Engine in CP because of phenomena intervention from Takamagahara and the Imperator. I think you guys are exaggerating Azrael's strength.
  15. I don't remember any of that and I can't check CSE right now, but that really does not sound like the Mitsuyoshi in P0. This is the same guy that tackled a Black Beast fragment. Maybe he developed a streak of fright after being almost devoured by it, but otherwise it doesn't sound like Mitsuyoshi at all. Besides, he was with Ragna in the very end!
  16. I don't think he was much of a coward? He certainly doesn't seem like it in P0. Did he describe himself as a coward in that Haku flashback? If he did, I think he's just being hard on himself for not finding a way for Ragna to live even though there was no other option. Nine casting Mind Eater on Terumi had something to do with the end of Phase Shift 1, I think. My memory is fuzzy. He may have been weakened from his fight with Tomonori. IIRC he's under the spell by P0. Ingame, Rachel probably never asks Jubei because she knows he wouldn't fight for her. We all know the real reason why she doesn't ask.
  17. Hakumen probably had the strongest resolve, and it was him personally that delivered the final blow (at least in his short story, idk about Phase Shift 4). I always took "strongest creature alive" to mean physically strong--Jubei is capable of stopping a punch from Tager with one paw (yes I know Tager hadn't put as much strength into it as he could have). But considering Jubei wields his swords with his mouth and tail, I question how much strength exactly he can put into his slashes. Looks hilarious though.
  18. Her 2009 bday pic was the best, but I don't think it was ever posted to the site. The guy that drew Makoto's bday pic last year actually really seems to like her; I remember seeing a lot of Makoto pictures drawn by him in the CSE gallery. The artists usually draw their favorites, like whatshisname and his "Jin festival." It's just no one else wanted to draw Makoto for this year or last year...
  19. Haha what? BB hasn't ever really required lots of research. :S Plus it's had parallels to Japanese myth since CT. Even if it did...that...doesn't exactly make it a religion. Just that people are invested enough in the story to look up things.
  20. Hahaha wow, and Amane is supposed to be HEAVIER than Jin? He's so skinny!
  21. A gate. But Terumi found a way to circumvent it by using Ragna and Nu. He's almost certainly referring to the Nemesis Horizon. blah blah Amaterasu myth blah blah Ama-no-Iwato blah blah sun goddess blah blah Ame-no-Uzume. Amaterasu is, technically, hidden in the Boundary. Only Noel (as the Eyes of the Master Unit) was able to locate it, which was the crux of Takamagahara's plan to use Mu. Terumi wanted Takamagahara out of the way first, which is what happened in CS. BB is in loooooove with the theme of godliness, what makes a god, destroying god(s), artificial/manmade gods, shit like this. It figures as prominently as quantum physics. Hell, the two are pretty intertwined.
  22. Release date still hasn't been announced. At the very minimum, we're probably looking at a two month wait. Normally the Setting Material Collections are released AFTER the console versions. And when I say minimum, I mean like absolute minimum. Three months at the least is more reasonable, and that's still a stretch. Although, Chrono Phantasma arcades was originally scheduled for winter and they managed to scoot it out the door by late November. A midsummer to early fall release is the most reasonable guess.
  23. Damn, Take-Mikazuchi left a huuuuge crater around Ibukido. To think, Bullet had leggings in her design at one point! I prefer her with short hair, but her current hot pants just make her look weird. Too shiny for one. Wish she had breeches or something.
  24. It's kind of subtle, but the white stone forms the shapes of the Black Beast (behind and left of Ragna and has all eight heads), Hakumen (right of Jin), and Mu's armor sword (behind Noel). Thank you so much!
  25. Thank you very much! nvm found it. I forgot that Sumeragi had two twitters.
