  1. According to Ragna in TMMLR: "The blade is made from a special metal (speculation here, possibly hihiirokane?) and it can nullify ars magus. Well, I heard it has yet to actually display its power yet but anyways, NEXT!" Seeing as Ookami doesn't shut down ars magus around it, it probably needs to cut to have effect, and it's not a permanent one. It's just it has the most pronounced effect upon those who rely upon regeneration, like Ragna or Arakune. Unless the JP script specifies regenerative ars magus and it was left out in the localization?
  2. Longer reach and an arguably more OP ability. Shutting down ars magus > cryokinesis in my opinion.
  3. He might've lost it or discarded it. He's not using Yukianesa in Phase 0. Jin's ice manipulation is not innate; it all comes from Yukianesa. He's just very, very, very good at using Yukianesa. Yukianesa was also made for close combat against the Black Beast and requires a lot of seithr. The seithr levels in 2100-2107 are possibly not high enough to support extended use of it. Or for a Doylist explanation, the change is intended to be symbolic in nature.
  4. This topic has come up before but I doubt the veracity of that line. It's in a section of the story that is riddled with localization errors so idk. Plus you don't get a name like the Grim Reaper for only beating people up. The CT novel probably has the most recent information. @Dawn of Musou: He didn't kill children. Afaik, he killed any Library soldier that stood in his way at the Akitsu NOL base. There is the question of how many NOL soldiers he's killed previously though. Ragna has destroyed at least two Cauldrons, though he could've sneaked into some of the bases instead of just slaughtering everyone in his path.
  5. I'm not one to gloss over Ragna's death toll, but uhhhhhhh millions is a huge exaggeration. At least a dozen, but more like a hundred. Anybody that stood in his way was cut down. Which is still reprehensible, but w/e
  6. I say in a way due to the, uh, nature of the Black Beast and being the host for the Azure Grimoire. Plus those Black Beast genes had to come from someone. There isn't a whole lot of information on Ragna's fate, aside from the lesson he gives Jin and some other scattered references like Arakune's ramblings. I go with the precisely opposite interpretation: that Ragna is the Black Beast because he is the Destroyer. It's the way his destiny decided to manifest itself. But I take a much more literal approach to the whole Destroyer/Power of Order issue.
  7. But Ragna is the Black Beast in a way. Plus there's his destiny as the Destroyer, unless Jubei was being highly metaphorical and rather florid.
  8. Izayoi is just Tsubaki after awakening the true form of Izayoi. But she's still Tsubaki. Rachel uses kill in brackets so who knows what's going on with her. @Surf: What? Why she wants to kill Ragna? First off, Tsubaki has never liked Ragna. "Ragna the Bloodedge! All of this has happened because of you. I will never forgive you. Prepare yourself." Now, she's somewhat aware of Ragna's circumstances. She says he's the source of all evil and calls him Dark One in their intro.
  9. Izayoi is a Murakumo prototype Armagus that was developed before the Dark War for the purpose of countering observers (see: Tager's story mode). There were originally more, but most were lost or destroyed. Tsubaki's Izayoi is one of the few Sealed Weapons of its kind left. It sucks in "light," including an observer's light, and also certain wavelengths. By absorbing an observer's light, it nullifies their powers--including phenomena intervention and dimensional interference. However, it fuels itself by stealing the user's own light and lifeforce. Relatively short usage of it drove Tsubaki blind, and overuse of it kills her as seen in her bad ending. I think Izayoi's Astral Heat dialogue was included in her release trailer, which was translated.
  10. No problem. Thanks. :] A quick Google search tells me some of her recent work includes Clockwork and Sol Trigger, which provide better glimpses at her artstyle than a single magazine spread. @BladeOfJustice7: EVERYTHING in Chimelical Complex looked incredibly painful. The artist did not pull any punches when it come to drawing more violent attacks.
  11. I personally prefer CC's art, but whatever. Who's the artist for this?
  12. Yeah but it really does look exactly like Noel. The hair even parts more like Noel's hair and not like Jin's, and she's wearing Noel's dress so it just looks lik a Noel with bigger breasts and Jin's coat. Lazy lazy lazy. I find Ragna's to be the worst though.
  13. Well, I didn't say he doesn't think Ragna is a creature of doom anymore. He still wants to kill Ragna, though he also wants a fight. He walked away from killing Ragna at the end of CS and in Ragna's bad ending. For all that he rants about justice, he seems more interested in just killing worthy evil opponents.
  14. OH, I see. I agree with you then. Izayoi Tsubaki being called just Izayoi is just to differentiate between the two. Mind Eater does make her completely loyal to the Imperator though. Or rather, it probably uses her loyalty to the Imperator to better control her. Tsubaki is using some of the Imperator's "false light" to fight and see. When the Imperator said that she would be Tsubaki's light, I guess she meant literally as well as figuratively. Hakumen still is dedicated to the pursuit of justice, but he thinks that Terumi is a bigger threat than Ragna. He doesn't even seem incredibly anxious about killing Ragna like in CT. Partly because he's under new ownership haha...
  15. Yes, but even back in CS Tsubaki was questioning what she was doing. She has essentially been indoctrinated to serve the Imperator above all else (hell, the original reason the Yayoi family went overboard with their breeding program was so that they could produce better soldiers for the Imperator), but Tsubaki in CP isn't normal Tsubaki. She's been brainwashed. She even has a lot of moments where it seems like she's struggling against it but then it reasserts itself and puts her back into Imperator mode. Izayoi Tsubaki seems shaken to me in her arcade mode (which is totally fine, she just turned away from serving her childhood god-empress).
  16. Most of those 'templar tendencies' are from the effects of the Mind Eater. Dark Tsubaki (and Izayoi in some modes) strongly believes that the Imperator is good, and serving her is justice. Ky's flowed naturally because he wasn't affected by a fucking mind control spell forcing him to serve the PWAB.
  17. Ehhh, I think it works. The first time we technically see Izayoi, she is still Mind Eater'd and is willing to slaughter her friends in the name of the Imperator. Then the spell is broken and she questions herself. What is justice? What is evil? She can't count on the Imperator anymore, and the Imperator was the person who calmed her mind when she was doubting herself at her story's end.. Then she finds her center and dedicates herself to true justice. She does get bizarrely overprotective like in Rachel's story, but Tsubaki kind of has that core of hidden crazy to her. In WoF she flips out when she has a dream/hallucination/flashback of Jin playing with Saya. Tsubaki has always secretly longed to be a hero of justice. I am being only partially sarcastic here. Izayoi doesn't do anything to change that, beyond give her the means to actually pursue her own justice.
  18. Tsubaki was struggling against it, but it reasserts itself in full force when she transforms into Izayoi!Tsubaki. Jin somehow saves her and breaks it for good after her transformation. IIRC (but don't quote me on this!) Izayoi does say that she and Izayoi are as one when she's talking to Hakumen, but it's still good old Tsubaki. She has the same biological information as Tsubaki. When she was revealed her name was even written as Izayoi (Tsubaki). The name "Izayoi" is just to distinguish between the two.
  19. if your project has Ragna/Rachel, who cares. I ship the devil ship and that's only ever gonna get one-sided teasing, so don't get all depressed about a crappy translation. But let's not make too much of shipping anyway. Take it somewhere else. IIRC Mu or Lambda claims that Valkenhayn can alter his being at the very atomic level. Cell manipulation is almost certainly referring to that. Jubei is probably closer to a "prototype" although technically he's a very different class of beastkin.
  20. Like I said, not totally accurate. Ars magus in Japanese is 術式 and armagus is 術式兵装. They probably got ars magus confused with bujutsu, 武術. It's helpful, but the person isn't actually familiar with BB... So you should kind of take everything with a grain of salt.
  21. Oh, those are the ones from GameFAQs. Don't take them as gospel; they're not totally accurate. Makoto has a resistance to seithr (maso, 魔素), not magic (iirc mahou, 魔法) for instance. Bullet is probably referring to Makoto's underwear. Despite how revealing Bullet's shorts are, at least you can't see her panties. Also, miniskirts are one of her dislikes according to her bio.
  22. Aw, thank you. :] It's not really hard confirmed, but it seems to have its own will, even if it's just acting on instinct. I remember musing why Amaterasu chose Noel to be its owner in the first place, and I believe Tokkan brought up the possibility that it quite possibly chose Noel to further its own ends. I really can't say what it wants though. Most info about Amaterasu has been only hinted at or left implied. Closer to release, should there be split threads like with CS's release? CS was split into information/questions/theories. Three might be too much, but maybe information/questions and theories would be good?
  23. Not anything I've heard of. I've heard about the tug of war between Amaterasu and the Imperator, and given all the distortions in CP that probably has a grain of truth in it, but I haven't anything like the Imperator burning up her life in the process. Put it down to rumor for now. I can't even say I lurk because I'm always making tl;dr posts about the story or characters. Does anybody even pay attention to them? I've been half-waiting for the day somebody tells me "you think about BB too much; go get a life." But I like to think they help somebody out...
  24. Welp, guess I should retract my statement. If ASW does localize future BB titles, I hope it isn't messy like the new parts of CSE. I think that's all I can really ask for.
  25. Kagura is too bulky. He's in the same boat as Ragna, and at most he'll be considered handsome unless you deliberately downplay his muscle and stronger features. Terumi is very popular among most female BB fans. (Look at his pixiv tag!) So he was probably designed to be easy so they'd have more fun playing him even if they're not necessarily good at fighting games. If he was difficult, they'd probably play less. IIRC ArcSys doing Extend themselves instead of Aksys was kind of an anomaly. I think Aksys might have said it probably won't happen good. Hopefully it won't, because the jokes in CTR were disgustingly bad and the dub was very awkward.
