6A > 2B is a godsend in this matchup. 2D goes over Tao's overhead and her 2B, but be prepared to use 2D > d.5C > d.6A > d.6C because she will be quite a bit behind you after a 2B. 2D will beat her 2A however it recovers fast enough for her to block it if she spots you 2Ding. D~B > 6A will beat all of your drives if you block the D attack, however if your opponent is doing this thinking it is an option select, just 3C that mofo. I fought LK's Tao as well TGS, and these were the steps that I generally followed to beat him, no word on whether it works on XDest or not :P

He was saying how he had problems with the 22B after a single 6C, so I gave him the throw wiff options, which are my personal favorite(notice how they are taking ALL OF MY FAVORITE SHIT OUT IN CS2+ REGARDING NORMALS)

Its IS a misnomer, because you have to know all of the possibilities, anybody reading what you posted would be assuming "safe" as in "no problems for any outcome", obviously as an option goes it's a good one for the purpose it serves, it's just dangerous, just like the 214A mixup, it's good as hell on paper, but still unsafe. However, with 50 Heat for a rapid Cancel the j.D thing is made safe, and a very good idea at that point, I'll test some things out to figure out the best options from there.

Note however that they did say that drive has slowed down, so all of our CS2 drive chains may not work anymore.

Noted, however "Safely" frame traps into j.D is a big misnomer, because if they block j.D, they pretty much get to punish you for free.

No! Bad Hex! The input window for 22B/C has most certainly changed, it feels more stiff and retarded, it's why sometimes(read: FUCKING ALWAYS) I miss the input after a Counter Hit 3C, because the added hitstop just completely fucks my input over.

This is my favorite of all of Noel's tools, sadly it will be gone in CS2+ but here it goes: Option Select 6A > 2B on wiff 6A will come out, and maybe get punished, no big deal. on Normal hit, you cannot combo, however this puts you in an advantageous situation to anti air them as they land or go for an air grab on CH you can run up and cambo into 6C(if they were high up) or 2A > 6C(if they were closer to the ground). On block, the 2B is neutral, so you can normally go into more pressure. I love this set up so much ; w;

6A > 2B was a huge part of how our AA OS worked, and with it gone we will be taking a huge risk whenever we go to anti-air.

Top tier laziness eh? You're mistaken, I don't give a fuck what they do to drives, I don't even want them, but they're just nerfing her, not making her normals better to compensate, just nerfs, hell they've even nerfed her 6A, which was like her only really good normal, so yeah, I'm pissed, making my character weaker in the area that needed to be weakend is fine, but completely destroying her chances of doing anything is not. Let me ask you, without drive starters, how "easy" do you think her confirms are? I'll give you a hint, they're not, at all, the people like me who actually use her normals have it rough because if we want to do any damage we have to throw out an unsafe string of normals for optimal damage, but if the first hit doesn't CH we get punished, or we can swallow our pride and use drives for an easy 4.8k standing or 3.7k crouching. This is what I'm mad about, to restate: I don't give a fuck about drives, not a single fuck, but they aren't even trying to FIX my character, they just want to see her die. Also, back when I played Plat, her hitconfirms were the easiest I've ever had to deal with, I almost switched her to Sub status but I didn't like her items at all.

Exactly, which is why you have to PLAY SMART when you fight Noel, not just autopilot the same dumb shit, Noel punishes dumb shit, and she punishes it HARD, however even then, it still doesn't even work 50% of the time, if you aren't punishing drive on ACCIDENT at least half the time, you're not staggering right. Oh well, back to the days where Noel wasn't a threat to autopilot rushdown, guess I won't be playing this dumb ass game for much longer.

I stopped reading when you said "Baited and punished" because you're implying Noel's drives can't, and if that is what you think, I'm not gonna try to have an intelligent conversation.

I thought they were trying to get rid of DPs that lead to combos? Now they are nerfing Noel's "Reversal" combos and buffing everyone elses? Sounds fair.

It could just be 5C's p1 got nerfed, which honestly would be a worse nerf than Mami being reduced damage.
